I've just bought an ex bt van. Doblo maxi. Got all the same lights etc 😂 I'm doing the same thing been traditional window cleaning for bout a year but need to go wfp also. Already do external cleaning but don't have a pump setup in van but will have in new year. As for your guttervac it'll pay bud don't worry 👍 my advise is like you say don't skimp on equipment it'll make light work 😊
Cheers mate, can’t believe how much things are costing, my 15k budget is going pretty quick. Hopefully it will pay off 🙏
I think you can learn more about it on WoodPrix.
Hi Tom, im a window cleaner / exterior cleaner based in Northern Ireland. Anything i can help you with i've been in the business over 15 years. Drop me a message. Been watching your videos a while & wish you all the best. Do you have a link to where you bought the RO system from. I run of DI only atm but have been thinking of getting a RO system. Cheers
Thanks, I’ll give you a shout if I need any help, which I’m sure I’ll need being a newbie to all this, I got the kit off eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175987996252?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=BTXvCNWoQqG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Vbstu0wLRYq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Hopefully the link works if not I got it from spotless window cleaning Thanks 👍
Hi mate - about to do something similar and found your video very useful. Couple of questions: 1. When building your stud frame did you build the frame separately and lift it into place then attach with brackets. If you know what I mean. Rather than build it directly against wall. So for example build the frame on the floor then lift into place. 2. Did the insulation you use help with soundproofing 3. What width/size was the stud wood. Thanks 😊
Hi, I built the frame separately, screwed it to the floor and used brackets to fix it to the exterior walls, the brackets I used had a slot in them which I fixed to the exterior wall with the screw in the middle of the slot, I thought this would allow for the expansion/contraction of the walls and so far it has worked great with no cracks or movement in the plaster on the inside. The insulation worked well with soundproofing, it still gets cold in the winter but holds the heat well with a heater on. I used 38x89x2400 cls timber, originally I was going to build a room from scratch but after doing the calculations with the price of materials at the time it worked out cheaper to buy a complete room. So I had bought the cls before hand and had it ready to go so I used that, you could get away with using 38x63x2400. Hope this helps, I’m planing on doing a video on how I attached the studs to the walls as I’ve been asked a few times
@ thanks for this much appreciated 🤟
State of that level mixing gear 🫢
where did you get the supplies
I got the tanks off face book with the frame for £200 and the filter kit from spotless window cleaning supplies for £550. Thanks
I made it by myself thanks to WoodPrix.
Hi Tom, looking to do the same with my log cabin where it’s been recommended to first apply a breathable membrane to the interior wall and then follow with foil insulation and then studs. Is there a reason you didn’t use breathable membrane on yours?
No reason, I’d seen lots of different ways when doing research on how to do it that it became a minefield in what was right to do, I’ve had no issues at the minute with damp or mould
where can we order the long tube of spray? Thanks,
Screwfix
Mate why not use a screw gun u would get it done so much quicker
What u fixing the top of the stud walls to or u just fixing it at bottom to hold it in place
For DIY great job, professionally - not so much.
Will the foam harden and cure properly if it's applied in cold weather?
It should do yes, it’s a chemical reaction that makes it hard 😉
Good luck mate. I was once told theres loads of stupid questions but its better to ask a stupid question than make a stupid mistake 😅
Good luck fella. What sort of returns are you expecting?
I think Realistically whilst still doing my normal day job (mon-thu) I’m predicting about £1200 profit a month, covering all bases I think this is easily achievable just working 2 days a week 🤞
@ fantastic hope it works out for you. Keep us posted! 👍
Im a tree specialist as a living , but use the titan on my own logs , quiet for neighbours compared to my fleet of 2 stroke stihl saws, absolute bargain saw, check chain tension if you keep losing it.. reverse bar after every big cut , always kept lubricated..avoid ground & nails , simples..
Good luck for the future, hope it all goes well for you 👍
Thank you 🙌
good luck with your new venture Tom, may good fortune grace you
Thank you kindly
Very informative and the banter was good craic 😊
I mean no offence whatsoever, but who really needs to know how to light a fire? I personally don't use the top-down method but only because I've been lighting fires since my cub scout days and have never needed to change. I'm lucky to have woodland beyond my garden with an endless supply of wind-blown kindling, and up here in Scotland we also have an endless supply of pine cones which are just as good as commercial firelighters, but FREE! 🥳 I stress I'm not criticising your video; I'm constantly amazed at how many people have almost zero practical skills so anything you can do to help must be good.
Please, just stop burning things on my planet, you're messing it up for my grandchildren.
Ok let’s compromise, I’ll stop burning during may to September?
🤣 ...says the person in Wokeshire with no car, no connection to the UK grid, no mobile phone (massive CO2 in manufacturing plus rare Earth metals) and who never flies anywhere. Get a grip. We're talking about WOOD. Wood is carbon-neutral. My house is heated by it and it grows next door to me. Plus I've planted over 500 trees so far on my 1 acre of ground with another 500 going in once I've fixed the deer fencing. Get off social media and get over yourself.
@@Thetomrichardson 🤣
How the battens are attached to concrete? Didn't saw that you are doing that.
They just floatin
Have a look at Proper DIY who did a test between Postcrete & hand mixed concrete. Results were shocking. He proved you just don't know how if the Postcrete is mixed correctly. Ok, you'll save time, but I'd rather do it once, do it properly.
I don't even have a log burner
top down burn is the way to go Tom, much less smoke than bottom up. i too never pass a skip without checking if there's ANY wood in it innit. top marks sir
How about the floor? Did you insulate it?
Yes, used the same insulation as in the walss
Good info.
would it stop water from seeping in under the shed?
Hey up what axe you using?
Fiskers x27
@Thetomrichardson thank you
This is ridiculous. No one that cuts any amount of wood should use a electric saw for one. 30 sec is still a crazy amount of time for that log. My stihl 391 would prob go through that in 5 seconds.
The chain was absolutely shot to be honest, it was just to demonstrate the difference after it was sharpened, with a new chain it would do it in about 29 seconds🤣, the battery saws are convenient to leave in the car just incase you need them, 💯 not a daily or regular user.
@Thetomrichardson i understand, sorry if it came of rude.
Question: Can this be done on the external wall instead as i wish to conserve space. Nice video😊
You could do it externally but you would have to put a covering on such as cladding. 👍
can this foam be used to fill a small hole made by birds? my biggest concern is flammability, the structure faces direct sunlight, is this foam going to ignite outdoors?
You can fill small holes with it, it should be flame resistant and waterproof but check with the manufacturer beforehand. Thanks
Just built a Dunster house cabin and it is nice but having lots of issues with water ingress, especially in the corners where you have siliconed yours. We have been at it months now (weekends only when dry) and every time I think I have found the reason it leaks again ffs. I have siliconed the same as you but still getting in and getting signs of damp inside at the corners now. I will not be putting the floor down until I have figured this out, So could be some time lol I have a bigger base too like you which is not advised as the water was getting in under the bearers but stopped that with some flashing tape.
free wood is good wood
Great video, thanks for taking the. Effort to share your experience.
Can Huawei Watch 4 works on Golfshot App. Thanks. Roger (Malaysia)
Not sure Roger, I think that might be a question for Google or the developers of the app. Thanks ⛳️
Thank you very much. I love your video and i learn alot about Golfshot. 👍👍👍
Nice! Thanks for the video
Where bouts you from youth? Are thee a local lad from round Derbyshire areas??

You need a certificate from a registered sweep to cover your insurance
Creed?
Depends on your insurer and policy, but it’s worth checking before you proceed with cleaning it yourself
as if inches isnt a brit thing lol
Old school over here 🤣
Do you have to use the bag or can it be used without one?
With the bag for dust etc otherwise the filter clogs up
Thanks for the demo, but you'd be in the dog house if you used my knife block for this, blunted one of my knives on the concrete and then put it back in the block without washing it!!!! 😡😅
Im not sure that sealing it all up with that silver stuff is a good idea. I could be wrong.
18 months in and we’ve had no issues so far, hopefully it stays that way
@@Thetomrichardson thanks for the update.
Will this work on concrete post?
Yes, I installed concrete posts when I erected my fence and it worked great on them as well
Thank you
He forgot to say to hold the can upright to clear the delivery tube otherwise the foam would also harden in the tube.
Do you need to use a specific underlay either A) to prevent damp or B) to allow movement ?
Just used a standard underlay from the diy store, nothing special 👍
So thats what i was doing wrong , not holding it upside down 😂 thank you! Ill try the wetting thing too.
🤣🤣
I bought a secondhand reconditioned one, a great piece of kit for the amateur!!
Definitely, it’s ideal for being used a few times a year, do t think it would last being used on a daily basis
Great video, especially the part about wetting the surface. Just an important note that expanding foam can be toxic so I wouldn't use a kitchen knife to cut it, even if you clean it afterwards with acetone, it can get messy.
Thanks 👍, it’s only the wife and kids that use the knife so I have nothing to worry about 😝
Must make sure its waterproof, not all expanding foams are, its so important to get a waterproof foam even if your covering it with panels etc, water will find its way in anywhere so again use a waterproof foam!.
