    I had a meningioma. It had an aneurysm in it. I had a lot of symptoms before and after. They did a partial resection then FSR to kill the remaining tumor. It totally changed my life. I lost everything. Thank goodness I was able to work with an OT afterward who helped me retrain my brain.

    So glad you are almost done with the treatments; soon it will just be a memory and you will be grateful to have had such a great outcome! I had a benign meningioma in 2016, it's been 9 years next month since my 10-hour surgery and I am doing great--no recurrance and normal except for the reminder every 3 years having a routine brain MRI. I had my head shaved from front to just behind my ears for the surgery, with a shaved circle on back of the top of my head for the pressure valve during surgery. As my hair grew out, I had VERY short hair in front and a spike on top of my head! I used to see young people with their hair spikes and think, "What were they thinking?!" After sporting my spike for 2 or 3 months, I was SAD when it curled over and disappeared into my hair! (It was a great lesson for me to not make assumptions about others motives for their actions.) Praying for you as you finish this race--and I agree, people think any time "tumor" and "brain" are used in the same sentence, you are terminal. I also had people who did not understand what "benign" meant and thought I was dying, which was annoying the third time you heard it that day! Soon you will be enjoying the fun haircuts/styling you can do!

    • @MryCEnterprises
      @MryCEnterprises 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you. Finally! Someone that really understands. All the horror stories and having to explain that I don’t have cancer and I’m not dying is very frustrating. I do miss my hair too. I had long pretty hair and now it’s a mess. I’m looking forward to closing this chapter and moving on. I’ve learned a lot though by going through this. I will never share another horror story with someone thinking I’m being empathetic again!

    Thanks for sharing your experience with us. So fortuitous that you discovered it when you weren’t having any symptoms yet!!! my mom had a brain tumor that got so advanced that by the time they took it out, she went blind and had very poor quality of life and passed a few months after the surgery. she had symptoms for years including dizziness, confusion, balance issues etc and went to docs however her managed care company would never approve a scan. She finally ended up in the ER years later and that’s where they discovered it.

    Yes, perspective is everything! I am 61 and divorced and have worked in real estate for 10 years in various positions. About two years ago, I helped another realtor create a team and began being the sales team manager and trainer. I also was doing all the transaction work contract to close documents plus converting internet leads by calling them every day and also answering them within a minute of when they first came in from the Internet as required by Team Leader. All the pressure and dealing with people yelling at me about interest rates and how they can’t buy home ever has taking their toll and I ended up driving myself to the E.R. this week with shortness of breath, continuous headache, and very high blood pressure I have hit the wall completely! What a wake up call. I’m actually glad it happened because it led to me quitting all the parts of this job except doing the paperwork part sure I’ll need to find some other source of income, but enough is enough.

    The same thing happened with my grandma when she came to live with us n eventually had to go to a nursing home. Years later my mom was having health issues n after a stay in the hospital my family had her sent to a nursing home. She eventually got worse in there n came home. So out of her 7 children i was the only one taking care of her. It was hard balancing taking care of her n working. She passed within 2 weeks of being at home. After all of this i had a living will made. I know that my moms insurance paid only 1 month of being in nursing home ,then would've make her pay by taking her savings. Thanks for sharing how radiation is going. My sister-in-law started radiation recently for lung cancer. I haven't talked to her to see if she has any changes, or how it's going for her. She lives in another town, and she has lots of family members to help her, and she has to drive about an hour to get there. My brother takes her unless one of their children/grandchildren are off to drive her. I try not to bother her, but I will call them tomorrow. When that dog barked and growled some, my cat raised her head up and looked at the computer as if to say, "That will be enough of that!" LOL I was out of town last night and I kept wondering if he missed me. I think he did!! I fell a about 20 minutes ago in my kitchen. I had a bag, plastic grocery bag, on the floor with a couple of things in them. I stepped on that plastic, and with laminate flooring my foot went flying. My foot got bend back somehow and I crashed down. My poor foot was hurting, and I was praying, "Please don't let me have broken a bone. It got me in the ankle area. It hurt pretty bad at first. I grabbed the ice pack and got it on there. Now it is no longer hurting, I don't think it will bruise as bad as I first thought!! Falling happens so fast!! We've had two Rover experiences, both were unsatisfactory. The first sitter agreed to stay, visited us, arrived at 6:30am, and after we left for a memorial service in LA, 400 miles away, got a text that she wasn't coming back after saying, "I'm going to get some food for the weekend." The second pet sitting three months later, and she left several days into a 4 day pet sitting, saying, "I'm not feeling well." We discovered she never stayed overnight as agreed, and wasn't there much for the dogs. She apparently was doing 2-3 sits, rather than just our agreed sit. Fortunately, we had a tenant who provided some assistance until we returned. Conclusions are: Hire a sitter who is more mature in age where values of integrity, honesty and commitment are more often to be counted upon. Second, install some nanny cams to see when the sitter is coming and going, how they are or are not treating the pets. Remember, you're trusting a total stranger to be in your home unsupervised. Will they keep agreements, do their job as agreed? You don't know and can't hold them accountable without verification. Protect yourself.
