Welcome to my Japanese themed bonsai garden. Here I share content about my bonsai trees through the seasons, and my personal journey as I develop my bonsai knowledge and collection.
I aspire to be warm and generous - to make my content both aesthetically appealing and tranquil, while also entertaining.
If my legacy was that I was one of the nice guys in bonsai, and made some visually beautiful or very funny videos then I would definitely be happy with that. 👍
May you find reasons to be grateful every day 🙏

Bonsai: Time and Stillness
Bonsai is about time, and stillness.
Bonsai: The Art of Time and Silence
In the quiet sanctuary of a garden, where the world’s chaos is but a distant murmur, resides an ancient art-a living poetry of patience and precision.
This is bonsai, the art of cultivating miniature trees that echo the grandeur of their full-sized counterparts.
It is here, within the meticulous curvature of a branch or the silent twist of a root, that one finds a universe of contemplation and beauty.
The Symphony of Stillness
To practice bonsai is to engage in a symphony of stillness. Each tree, a sculpture of time, reflects the gardener’s silent dialogue with nature.
Enjoy 🙏😁🌳

What is bonsai? It’s a common question and though we could all point to and identify a bonsai tree, it means something subtly different to different people. Learn the literal definition of bonsai, and see what bonsai means in a wider, more artistic sense. This segment was created for a collaboration video with Gavin of @NotAnotherBonsaiChannel . My pleasure Martina.
As I‘m not confident with pines - I just watched with respect, learn and won’t touch mine, as it has lost some mayor branches by dieback of unknown causes last year 😄👍 Please update this little one. 🙏😘

Hi Jason, I loved this video, for me it conjures up the feeling that I most embraces, when I am working or just observing my trees and contemplating life and the magic of nature.
Thank you for your kind words Pamela. This is so true for me also.
Very poetic and reflective. Thank you Jason
Thank you. My pleasure Xavier 🙏
Nice job Jason. I love it when normal unassuming people do great things.
Thanks James, though this video might be a bit too poetic and lyrical for some. 🤗

Amazing display and amazing summary 🎉🎉🎉🎉 .... You displayed a pot that looked like the moon surface ❤
Thank you 🙏
Little scumbags 😡
I’ve stopped using Fertilisers based on seaweed because they vary so widely in NPK contents! Some have so little as to be virtually useless, providing only organic matter which needs months to breakdown!
I am intrigued by the notion of air-layering, but I believe this is not the appropriate time of the year to try this, yes? I have a "bird-cherry" tree which sprouted from the root-stock of an old pie-cherry tree that died; this tree naturally has flowers and fruits about 1/4 the size of regular cherries. As it is also i serious need of pruning, I've been marking some branches which a) need to go, and b) could potentially make bonsai. I plan to proceed with this in the early spring.
Best time to start an air-layer is after the first set of leaves have hardened off in spring. 👍
One year on, did the tree survive? What soil mix did you use
Yes the tree survives and is gaining strength but needs styling. The soil was a free draining mix mostly comprised of moler clay.
Thank you. Just bought a nice one from a centre , just £8.95. Have an idea to grow it on and air layering it next year. Love your videos ❤
I can’t a little of this recently I just pulled it out
It’s weird, alien looking stuff
Another great video Sir I think bonsai is just like Art to some your trees are amazing and others don’t see its beauty But ultimately it’s how your trees make you feel You have a great collection Jason
Thank you 🙏
Great info. Thank you
My pleasure Julie 🙏
Wow 😮well done buddy that’s an amazing success rate!!! Tree one if phenomenal 👌
Thanks Rob. You were on the list for one of these but sadly a couple died off. 😢 There might be future opportunities though.
Thanks. I've ordered my first white pine (a Negishi sapling) and this has told me what to expect and what not to do. 👍
Glad I could help
I get lots of weeds but rarely liverwort in Boise Idaho. Too dang hot and dry in the summer. But it can be such a beast! I love your "Know Your Enemy" videos!!!!!
Thanks Susan. They look like weird little aliens with their suckers, cups and fleshy pads.
Wow man, your oak tree pot is stunning.
Thank you kindly
🤢🤢🤢🤮 I hate that stuff in my Equisetum 😢
Yes it is otherworldly and alien 🤗
I've been enjoying your channel. I've recently acquired three small (6-7") mugo pines and have been trying to decide how best to plant them. I live in a hot, dry climate, and am reluctant to put them into the ground, even temporarily, but after watching some of your videos, have decided not to try to immediately put them into small pots. Perhaps a large, deep pot in a somewhat sheltered area would work for them?
Sounds like a great plan. Good luck 🤞
@@TheBonsaiGarden Thank you!
Really good informative video Jason, good job. 👍🏼
Thanks, I appreciate that. 🙏
Szia!
@@TheBonsaiGarden Thanks🤝
@@TheBonsaiGarden If you have any problems with the procedure, you could speak with Adam Mccallion, he already enabled them in his videos.
Felfedeztem, hogyan kell ezt megtenni, ezért minden jövőbeli videóhoz hozzá fogok tenni, és végigjárom a videók hátsó katalógusát is. 🙏
👍👌🙂
👍👍👍
I treat my larvae or grubs by immersing the whole pot in water overnight. The whole pot must be underwater, which drowns the grubs and deep-waters the bonsai (wait for the air bubbles to stop). Twice a year is effective in Sydney Australia and best of all- NO CHEMICALS! Any dead grubs are fertiliser for the plant.
Make sense 👍
I have a clear film on my orangeola JM leaves. Not all leaves, just some. Any ideas what that is?
Sounds like honeydew sap from aphids.
@@TheBonsaiGarden thank you. I'll have to check it thoroughly. It looks over watered as well, I don't think it is... I have 9 other maples With no problems. Neem oil okay to use if that's the case?
Soapy water is usually sufficient.
