I’ve been a commercial motorcoach operator for 8 years and have quickly invested blood, sweat and tears to rise the ranks. Now I’m living my dream and sharing my thoughts, experiences and charters with you all.
Will It Start? Abandoned for 5 Years!
This project is going to be like nothing we've ever done before!

Everybody knows that I can't speak French and I desperately wish I could, and I'm trying to learn. The intro is merely making fun of my horrid skill level. But someday I'll be fluent to speak with my daughter in both official languages! Thank you @motorcoachlife and @MotorCoachInd for this experience! Please follow Rachel on TikTok @motorcoachlife and if you have any MCI questions please email ...

Be a nice vip bus
3 hours of a block heater would be a big help
She is a good old Prevost. I love them. Timis Tours has some. I love the J4500 motorcoaches also.
@@Ferguson1985 we love Timis! We’re good friends with Jack and the gang!
@shamrocksean that's awesome! Jack gave me a tour of the shop and office and both H345 and the J4500. I absolutely loves buses!
Change fuel filter and prime it !!! Those MF are impossible to start when they are been out of fuel for long time !!! Do it and he gonna start like a new one !! SERIES 60 are the most reliable engine ever made !!
Awesome video Sean where in ON is your bus company out of
they always say use ether but then it eventually won't start without it even in the arizona desert . i say do it your way . only problems are it is hell on the starter and batteries . pick your poison i guess lol!
You are lucky Preference didn't sell that bus in Europe, like they did with most of Carleton's Buses
@@hughroney6342 Preference didn’t do anything we didn’t agree to and we had over a half dozen units involved in a great partnership between our shops. Marcel and Ryan are top notch professionals who don’t play.
@@shamrocksean Sure you left a bus sit there for 5 years because you had to many?
@@hughroney6342 We had a deal pre covid that a 3 year pandemic changed, then with an illness in ownership and change of management the bus wasn’t a priority to retrieve while we continued to invest in brand new equipment, check out our instagram to see our 2 2024’s and wait to see our 2 2025’s
I think someone didn't quite understand the "trunk banana" at first.
Take a German MAN Bus, push the start- button and it will run, no matter how cold it is.
Thanks for sharing this with us Sean!! Love seeing your enthusiasm with these projects and hope to see more!!
When we visited Leduc in 2019 with the BHA Convention, this bus was inside being stripped on the livery, I thought it was retired. Does Leduc still have the LFS they were using on the Rockland-Ottawa Service?
Lookin forward to seeing more on this thing, hopefully we’re able to see it running soon, it almost seems as if it’s lost its prime or something fuel related, looked like it wanted to run on the brake clean but once it ran out it shut off lol
Oh, think I just found my new fave channel.👀
You'll have that rig roadworthy in no time. Glad I found your channel with all your laughs.
If you're starting a diesel like this, don't stop and start, just keep the starter going. The stop/start is more damaging on the starter than continuing because of the high amperage at the beginning of the starting process.
@@LNC4P on the 2 stroke diesels there are no glow plugs and the start stop builds the heat in the cylinder wall
hI Sean, my name is Richard,I am a former motor coach operator and stm retired bus driver ,Wished I could have a conversation with you about your project .I alway,s appreciate when you put video,s on youtube it reminded me when I have start my career in 1984.keep the good work I believed in you,Best regards from Richard.in Montreal.
@@richardjulien8745 thank you so much brother!
Do you drive motorcoach buses or have a CDL?
@@adambuesser6264 yes I own an MC9, I’ve been a driver commercially for over ten years and I’m now in management running a fleet of 170.
Great video. Gonna be watching the progression on this motorcoach !!
Awesome video Sean! Definitely looking forward to more in this "series" to see the "progression of rebirth".
Dreh den Schlüssel doch mal länger wie nur ein paar Sekunden..... Und das hochdrehen sollte man sich auch sparen. Für nen kalten Motor kann das tödlich sein.
Smoke screen. Hahaha
worst thing you can do to that cold Engine is rev the living shit out of b4 the Oil has a chance to circulate Next time try plugin her in
Instead of revving the crap out of it after it starts, just kick on the high idle switch!
@@erikg.2666 if you knew anything about it you’d know that you need 90psi of air for the air actuator for the high idle on the throttle body and I did for the views…..
@@shamrocksean If you actually new anything about cold engines, you would know that the majority of wear occurs right after start up! You aren't supposed to use more than 1/3 throttle when pumping up air!
@ again, I know this and did this for views before spending 4 years preserving it lol Lordy. You’re the one who said hit the high idle switch, the high idle doesn’t work til there’s accessory air pressure…you’re used to new shit
Bomba
That's like trying to boot a Windows PC. On a good day!
The hubs look like they need a touch-up on the paint.
That bus is very very quadruple dog cursed and very very quadruple dog hexed to not want to start at all
Block heater and Amsoil synthetic oil makes diesel engine starting much easier. Rotella 15W40 is the consistency of honey at 40 degrees and colder. I haven’t used conventional oil since 2005.
@@diddlebug7241 except it’s a two stroke and requires a straight weight. But yes, the block heater is always a sure bet lol
@@shamrockseanyes we use the straight weight on our generator which is a 8v71 TA. Not quite as easy to find now a days, but still around…tough old engines
@ you’re right! We have a supplier here in Ottawa who has it stocked all the time so I’m fortunate for that. But it’s not something off the shelf anymore!
These videos around the "covid time" is very humorous because the way we were taken advantage of.
Awesome bus man do u still have her
@@stevevlossak2443 absolutely :)
Go with Greyhound...and leave the SMOKING to us!!😂
It’s interesting that this coach has the regular rear bumper as opposed to a full rubber bumper that was standard issue for greyhound coaches. The same as the ventilation hatch cover under the driver side window so that greyhound could have ventilation and if I remember correctly even a 120v plug for illumination inside so that the coach had ventilation and illumination while at a greyhound terminal without having to run the engine because of engine fumes.
@@artieautry5035 hey there! My coach was never actually a greyhound. Just wrapped for fun
These are in War Thunder love running them over 😂 lol these things are beasts, love the old Stainless side skirts ❤
Those were the days my friend!
Try ether
1 gallon engine oil every 600 miles
Awesome story and amazing body
Nice job Rachel on driving your first ever MCI coach
Imagine the performance of this bus if the rear section was removed to convert it to a standard straight bus.
The Canadian government subsidizing the new bus development is a lame attempt to compensate for serious cuts to passenger train service in the 1990s.
I want to stand behind bus n inhale beautiful smoke smell
👍
Awesome video... I love the memories this bus brings back for me. Keep them coming.
hI Sean ,nice to see you back with the mc-9. By that time Thoses were the greatest coaches to operate Five speeds manual trans with 8v-71 detroit diesel, great sound ,96 inches wide ,perfect match to go in lincoln tunnel in new york,,Remind me great souvenirs, keep the good work Sean From a retired motor coach operator in Montreal.
She’s a beauty!!!🎉🎉🎉
No volume it's.silent.
Very nice, MC-9 was an awesome bus. Im jealous, i want to drive one so bad. My father drove motorcoaches for 43 years from 1964-2007 when he retired. MC-9 was his favorite. Did you need permission to have it lettered up Greyhound?
Stainless steel polish should work. Awesome videos.
Anybody ever rig a pony engine for a Detroit?
