Hey there! ✨ My name is Caterina and I started this channel to document my journey as a small business owner. I share behind the scenes of running a small business as well as snippets of my personal life. For me, it's important to find a happy balance between work and slowing down and enjoying the little things in life. I am 61, I haven't sewed since I was a teenager and I have never embroidered. I would love to start and figure it's never too late lol. Like you I have been watching youtube videos like crazy. I found yours today and I really enjoy watching them! Others come across more like infomercials, but you are fun to watch and I appreciate your content/information. It is very helpful! I do have one question, aside from the Brother, what other embroidery machine are you using? Again thanks for sharing your experience and journey. Keep at it, you are doing a great job!💕
This is so sweet! Thank you so much 💕 At the moment I use a Baby Lock BMP6 and a Brother PE800! I started with the PE800 and got the BMP6 later! Hope that answers your question. Thanks again for watching and for all the kind words!

Look into a battery powered fan. They have them in the tool area at Lowe’s
I tried one for my last market from Amazon since it was a nice affordable one but I don't think it did much haha. I've seen the once at Lowe's and they're a bit pricey! Maybe I'll invest in one eventually but the weather seems to be getting nicer!

The only video that says, you can start embroidery business with one needle machine... I'm determined to start with janome mc550e and I don't think this will be breaking point to my beginning or even a big limitation for starting real business in a niche. If course if things goes good and I have way too many orders, I'll get multi needle along with the mc550 and keep on going further. I love your video and will follow your journey ❤
100%!! You do not need a big fancy machine to start. Obviously down the road it's always nice to upgrade, but a single needle machine is absolutely a great place to explore and dip you toe in the water before committing! Thank you so much for being here! 💕

@@CortneyMcKenzie-t1f thank you so much! Which software are you referring to? I use Kittle for creating some designs and using their social media templates. But if you’re referring to digitizing my designs, I actually send them out to get digitized

Binged watched all of your videos lately and I just wanted to say that you are doing a great job!! Your videos are easy to watch or listen to in the background while I try to be productive myself. Thank You for sharing. I have been a crafter for over 30 years and I fell in love with sewing and embroidery a few years ago. I have been working on my website for what seems to be forever. I am at that point where I just need to push forward and start. BUT afraid of failure, afraid of people copying my ideas or items or that they are not good enough. But I’ll get there one day😊
I totally get you,(I’m the same) but not with embroidery just to start, but we should definitely do it, pushing forward & start 💕
I really appreciate your comment! Thank you so much for watching. I also had a huge fear of failure when I first started. I would get anxiety about posting on social media. But one day I just ripped off the bandaid and started. There will definitely be some lessons learned along the way, and I have also dealt with people copying my ideas, but we can't let that stop us from moving forward. Just focus on yourself and people will see your genuine love for what you do. <3

I am beginning my embroidery journey but I do not know how to draw. How do I get my ideas/patterns out to get digitized?
My designs are mostly words so I don’t have much advice on the topic. I do know some people hire artists to create their designs. Something I want to do in the future is learn how to illustrate so I can create some unique designs as well 🙂 but you don’t need to know how to draw to get started

This was such a great video! I started last year last November. I had to laugh (at myself) when you mentioned learning everything. I replaced everything I watched for enjoyment with TH-cam videos. (Still watch them now). I run a pet boutique where I personalize pet clothes. You are so right about having your niche in something that you enjoy! I have met so many wonderful people and I absolutely adore what I do! I recently bought an embroidery machine to add that to my personalization options. This is where I laughed - because of taking in so much in a year, I tried it for 2 weeks and yesterday, I returned it. I was just thinking how I CANNOT learn anything else right now! So that option is out for my shop. 😂 I thoroughly enjoy your videos.

Congratulations on your success! Have you thought of using POD like printing or prihtful? Did you have to ship those 300 sweaters by yourself?
I have considered POD but not for embroidery projects! More so for DTF print designs. Still considering though. I like to be able to do quality control before it goes out to my customers. And yes! I did pack and ship all 300 sweaters by myself 🙂

You’re so kind in sharing all of this information and being so open/honest with your trajectory. I appreciate it! The “messed up sweaters” bin made me LOL - I just started learning embroidery and I’ve broken needles, messed up blanks, and even somehow cut skin off my fingers (?!) 😂

Thank you so much! I think tiktok shop definitely had a big impact in growing so fast! My Shopify orders came from my Instagram audience as well as my tiktok audience since I didn't offer all of my colors on tiktok when I first started out. I haven't dabbled into any ads, it has all come from organic content on tiktok and instagram!
