      @@lisaericdavisson1755 great question. I always use my Singer Heavy Duty 6800C for sewing my jelly roll rugs. It doesn’t skip a beat and is a workhorse!

    Great quilt! What I do is when all the strips are sewn together for the first time and you to cut your strip in half, I cut about 18” off one end. Put the piece aside for another project. Then put your ends together. What this does is staggers the colours better when you sew the strips. Looks great.. ❤❤❤. Great job!!

    If you don’t like all the cutting associated with making a quilt then you need to check out the Accuquilt cutting system. I own the Accuquilt Go Big Electric Cutter. I absolutely love it! Less time cutting more time Quilting! It’s fabulous! I’ve been Quilting over 31 years and it’s made my life so much easier.😃

    FYI: This is NOT a jelly roll. A jelly roll is 2.5" wide. This is a Dessert roll (5" wide).

    Not seen a jelly roll made up like that previously, as I usually cut mine into shorter strips - then sew so they they are normally all in one direction. The quilt looks so cute, great video. thank you.😊

    If you would have cut one less time and one less vertical seam, and laid your quilt out with vertical strips, the size might have been more what you were looking for, maybe. It's adorable, though. I have done the 2.5" strip jellyroll quilt, but not the 5" strips.

    good job. I ordered the dog strips its so cute I've done this wit 2-1/2" but not with 5 " strips. I Need to save this video so I can remember to stop at the same place u did.

      @@sandrapisano3667 yay can’t wait for you to make one. One suggestion… cut some of the strips shorter to mix up the prints more. I wish I had done this.

    What size are those strips?

      Part way through she indicated these are 5 inches wide. Have not seen this width before in a strip set. Have seen 6.5 strips known as Vegas strips. Always something new available!

      @@doreenaher7903 these are 5” wide strips and I linked the jelly roll in the video description. But I made another strip quilt today with 2.5” wide strips (standard jelly roll size) and it turned out great. I sewed about 34-36 strips together and left the rest to do the binding.

      @@karenm7260 I’ve never seen 6.5” strips. Very cool. Of course you can always cut your own any size which is why I love this project.

    If you cut some of your first strip off before you sew you will see more of where each strip is joined for a scrappier look. For example cut 18” off first strip. Then start sewing your rows together.

      Right, then your seam would not be so close together which adds more movement in your strips. Also more pleasing to the eye. Love your quilt. Dog fabrics are great.
