Just found your videos. My wife is from Camiling. We went there for 2 weeks February 2023. Been to the chow king a couple of times. Her Family has a house across the bridge from there.

This is the exact nonsense that brings broke fools here who end up homeless, trying to get a repatriation loan from the embassy. My last electric bill was equal to nearly 300 USD. I've never spent below 3k per month. We own our home, cars etc., and are non drinkers. Don't believe this crap! It's ridiculous.

It depends...if you live in the province, yes..and if you grow your own food and raise chickens, goats and pigs..

You can live on $80/mo if you want. Millions of Filipinos do it everyday. I live in Phoenix. My total spent, every penny, has averaged $600/mo for 15 years and in that time my house has appreciated an average of $2000/mo. OK I get people love to trash the other side of their personal political team. Super hobby. But for financial decisions I prefer rational thinking based on reality. You can pay $5-8/doz for eggs in Phoenix. OR you can choose to pay $1.77/doz for eggs. Safeway a short walk from my house on Friday sold eggs for that. That's the same or less than in PH. Even bananas and rice is about the same cost in Phoenix as PH. Green cabbage costs the same today as in 2019. I get free healthcare 100% covered, not a penny of cost to me for anything, because I live on savings so my reportable income is 0%. Medicaid is based on income, not wealth. And I choose to live in a Medicaid expansion state. And I get a free smartphone and plan (LifeLine) and a couple years of free home internet (ACP but now that's over and I pay $20/mo). Many great benefits living in the US if you use your head a little. Almost nothing I buy in Phoenix has a sales tax (almost 10%). I stand in line looking at all the junk food people have in their carts, all subject to 10% sales tax, and complaining about cost I chuckle to myself. They're like small children buying whatever they want with no understanding of money. And wow they're often obese to boot. I can walk pretty much everywhere. I buy about 20 gals of gasoline per year. I love to walk and walk about 2 hours everyday even in summer, mid day, carrying no water. 99.9% of people would consider that impossible. They'd never try to understand how that works, would never try it. It's a no go from the start. And then they complain about being too fat and all their health issues. It's like they have no idea why they have diabetes. Or maybe they blame Biden or Trump. Or maybe still blaming Hillary. Goofy. Only hurting themselves via willful stupidity. So let's look at the "crazy" inflation in the US. Pick any number you get fed from your own personal talking head King. 10%, 50%, whatever made up number you "feel" is correct. I'm going to stay closer to reality and say 10%. Actual 2021-2022 was about 7-10% based on what basket of goods and services you choose. Say my entire $600 spend went up by 10%. So that's a $60/mo increase (reality is only about half the items I spend on have gone up). But inflation effects a couple other things too for me. #1 home values. At a minimum home values will increase with inflation. We call it a hedge. So my $500k house went up by 10% or $4,166/mo. #2 Social Security COLA will go up 10% (using round number here boys). If I took SS today it would be $3080/mo so an income increase of $308/mo. My net "cost" of 10% inflation has been a net increase in wealth of $4,414/mo. If I rented or my SS benefit was crap the numbers would be much different and scary AF. Those 2 factors were under my control. I had to understand this and take action way back when I was 18 years-old. Do things to prepare myself for handling inflation and other things. My whole adult life I've had friends, family and random strangers, tell me I was stupid. "SS won't be there." "House values will crash so it's better to rent", "It's cheaper to rent", "Live for today.", etc... It's endless. Today they all complain about the "gov" or whatever for their financial problems. Never their choices. Nope. The problem you see is always others. Whatever. I plan to move to SE Asia next year. If a person wants "cheap" then the Philippines is about the worse choice. Other SE Asian countries have better food (way better), infrastructure, medical and cleaner streets and beaches, fewer beggars. PH has almost the lowest number of tourists than any other country in SE Asia for a reason. The only reason men move to PH is because of young Filipina women. They're great. But there are lots of great women available to foreigners in other countries too. But in PH it's super easy. Seeing a pattern? Lazy men.

Thanks for your time. I'm sure people are stepping around this topic since it is considered a social no-no to mention a person's weight. I'm going to say the obvious; you're obese. Avoiding carbs and manufactured sugary types of foods. You live in a hot climate, so your heart is working harder to do its job. It's a wonderful thing to be accepted for who you are but perhaps in a decade or so your body will show how stressed it is and you'll have more challenges.

You can expense less if you try to buy in the market not on the market such as big grocery store since each product has 12%value added tax.

As an american, I think I could live on close to 500 a month. But I’m a minimalist. I just want a clean dignified (but not big or fancy) place to live, food, water, electricity, internet. I need to start eating healthy and cut down on meat anyway. The only luxuries i need are air conditioning and maybe going out to eat once in a blue moon.

Yes it is possible. IF you get startup costs out of the way, and a cheap place to rent (outside big population centers), and you're just a single guy living by yourself, $500 for basic operating expenses is doable. For a family of 3, living in a 3brm/2 bath townhouse, we average about $900 USD, which includes AC, hot water and other misc necessities. If your partner is frugal and works with your budget, you can do a lot. On the other hand, if you have to pony up a lot for extended family and a bunch of kids (single mothers), you'll most likely go belly up.

By the way do you know the ingredients in hot dogs? If you did I doubt you would ever buy them again

The prices are a good excuse to start eating more healthy actual food. Stick to eggs, milk, oatmeal, rice, lentils, chicken, vegetables, fish (cod/tuna...) and stay away from all the overprices junk processed products you shown.

I was an expat in rural Thailand and every month we would have a "falang" party. How about furniture? I would like to find a La-Z-Boy or something close. Also, for our house is there any place close that sells hot tubs? Which is closer Dagupan or Rosales and which one has an SNR? How far way in the Immagration office? Where is the closest hospital just in case? If you need a family doctor or dentist, I know 2 in Bayambang that I've been to and they're great. Where do I get my Philippines driver's license at?
