A "drive belt replacement" refers to the process of removing an old, worn-out serpentine belt (also called a drive belt) from a car engine and installing a new one, which is a continuous rubber belt that powers various accessories like the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump by winding around multiple pulleys on the engine; this typically involves loosening the belt tensioner, carefully removing the old belt, and then installing the new belt in the correct routing, ensuring proper tension before starting the engine

I have a 2000 Corolla and had a mobile mechanic do the valve cover replacement.... It will never be done again and I may as well watch him and take mental notes...
Factory 245-55R18, I’m sure someone else has already commented that, because your tire’s significantly larger diameter, your calibrated speedometer will be way off until you go into ForScan and change the calibration. Hey, still looking for people who have swapped the Ford factory 8” screen to replace the 4”, I have looked at the rear and know that a few of them have the right climate control connectors for the 2016/17 (ymmv), but IDK about the wiring work /adapter needed (if any), depending on if it can stay with Sync 2 or to upgrade to Sync 3, and/or any canbus alterations / adaptations (yeah, I’m posting this widely on PIU posts where other owners may see it)
Speak louder stupid
that socket tool where did you get it from?
Good video but I'm having a hard time hearing your commentary because of the volume of the background music. I encourage you to leave out the music in future videos. Thanks for your work!
I have a question when your original alternator went bad would it make your van not start up ?
Yes and No. As long you have juice in your battery you will be able to start the car but it will stop after few miles. Also depends on how old is the battery and weather situations.
Just got one of these cars and I’m not sure if the transmission fluid has ever been changed. Would you advise changing it or just leave it because I heard from another TH-camr( former Toyota tech) to leave it if it’s not been serviced regularly as it could cause slippage.
Yes, if you don't change your transmission fluid when it's old and worn out, it can potentially cause your transmission to slip. So I guess it’s all depends on mileage and conditions of driving.
@@kashfix9160 thanks for the response. it has 147K miles on it.
THANK YOU BROTHER, WE DIDN'T HAVE MONEY TO FIX OUR SIENNA CAR AND THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO, MY WIFE AND I FIXED IT. THEY CHARGED US VERY EXPENSIVELY. THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO. MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH GREAT HEALTH And WISDOM
Wish you would have shown putting the bottom bolt back on as that is were most people have a problem. Thanks for the rest though
Where did you purchase your deep magnetic socket 9/16
What brand spark plug socket is that
So you don’t have to change the filter
didnt put spring pin inside of top brake pad indicator
Can u send me this radiator link
How did you test the brake switch?
Awful background music, please turn it off
Thank you for the easy to understand video, i will hopefully be using your method if i can get an alternator by the weekend...one thing you left out, is that when you reconnect the battery, the car alarm horn goes off. How do you disarm?
so i followed your directions completely..the alternator is free...but i can't seem to pull it out, the coolant hose is blocking the way. really wish u didnt have to put the camera down for that part, cuz now i'm stuck. still a great detailed video though
Update: unfortunately had to find another youtube video to help with that part, but overall, your vid helped the most! Job is complete, van seems to be in tip-top shape! (fingers crossed, cuz i gotta drive it an hour & a half to work tonight) .. Thanks dude! You're awesome!
Those caliper bolts are 1/2 in stupid
Nice and easy. thank you for sharing
My pleasure 😊
Gracias 🙏
As a pro mechanic, I don't charge customer if I didn't fix it. We mechanics do get stumped on many vehicles because auto manufacturers pump out so much garbage vehicles that one person can not possess all of the required knowledge to quickly fix their shitttt. Even Identifix isn't 100% on troubleshooting.
Good video bro.
You saved my life, bro!
Hello, any idea why the tensioner bolt keeps sliding or it won’t go up? I removed the bracket when I did my timing belt and now putting it back and it won’t hold tension
We followed the directions - marked the bolt, tightened it up to that point- and it still squeals every morning. Any advice? Do we just keep tightening?
Did you replace the with the new belt? Squeals means belt is loose or running out of its life. Try tighten up the belt to see if this goes away? Lastly I would pour some water straight on the belt and it’s quite this means it’s time to replace the belt.
Nice, Some vids and forums say 17 Ft-pounds of torque, like this vid, and others say 33 Ft-pounds, like the Haynes manual, and many other sources. Do your research as I’ve heard not enough torque and it can leak!
When anyone's altenator went out on their van, did they experience no power to their radio, wipers , power windows and heater ??? Long story short, my van was stolen with keys,,,, I got it back , their must have lost keys so tried hot wiring.. I replace everything on they entire steering column, programmed new keys with emobillizer from junk yard parts ,including a brand new fusible link( which everyone said it was and it wasn't the problem lol) van runs and drives but now my abs speed sensor, and blinkers, wipers, power windows, side door opener buttons,(radio, heater and ac center dash console doesn't work! Hazards do and so do main headlights, go figure on that!! Basically I have no problem changing and doing the work,I'm worried he fried possibly they altenator and if possible,, wires too,, if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it . Thank u
Sorry to hear that, what is the year, make and model of your van? sounds like the convenience module, they normally on drive footwell.

What mileage you have on your car? Could be trans wearing out, sticky valves or burned trans oil.
