Alice in Wonderland: real-life battling at Surbiton Croquet Club in charming BBC radio doc.
Programme 3 The Croquet Match
Ask most people what they think of croquet and they’ll probably remember the flamingo mallets and hedgehog balls from ‘Alice in Wonderland’. A silly game played by posh girls in pretty frocks. Of course, croquet is nowadays a proper sport with a ruling body and serious competitors, not a place for losing your head: that’s certainly the image they want to present.
Curiouser and Curiouser is the programme that uses ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to investigate, in a purely trivial fashion, the wilder shores of British life. Programme 3 travels to Surbiton Croquet Club to find out if croquet is ‘an evil game played by fanatics’ or simply a charming place to meet nice people.
At the end of each episode producer, Matt Thompson talks about one element of the radio production.
Series devised by Jo Morris.

If this is true it’s crazier then the Kennedy assassination. It’s more like the Outer Limits. It would make sense that within that year they changed their look their music and they stopped touring. This would cover up anything that was not the sane as the real Paul.

The people that argue Paul died have been duped. It wasn't Paul who died in 1966. It was John. Think about it. During the "Revolver" sessions, John's voice completely changed (compare "And you bird can sing" with "I'm only sleeping," for example). After 1966, John, or should I say "Faun", started always wearing glasses, facial hair, or long hair so that the facial features were not as noticeable. Faun's body was thin and wiry, John's was much fuller and more masculine. So why all the "Paul is dead" clues? Think about it. If Paul really died and the Beatles were trying to cover it up, would they really put all those clues out? The real reason they did it was far more clever. By getting people to focus on whether Paul had died, it took all the scrutiny off the person who really died and was replaced. And it worked. All these years folks have been focusing on whether Paul died, looking right past the real person who died --14 years before his replacement was conveniently killed off.
