Hi Lisa! Thanks for the kiln opening everytrhing's so lovely! Are you using Amaco's Frosted Turquoise? I never get that shade of green when I use it, maybe it's the layering process that pulls out the undertones. I was going to try the combination with the Frosted Turquoise on the top layer and wanted to double check that I have the correct one :-) Thank you!

You’re going to refire your piece that crawled, do you reglaze it? Or just put it back in and hope it will drip over?

What a great kiln load. The big bowls are just beautiful!! I also love the oil bottles!! When you use the engines you can sand them after they are fired to make them smooth. I use a 1500 grit sanding pad and it works amazingly well. That was one heck of a pluck on that bowl!!

So needed this distraction today. Love all your combos!

Quick question about stain in Black glaze recipe. In the above recipe Mason 6666 is listed, while in an earlier post where you gave out the recipe "Best Black" was listed as the stain used, which is Mason 6600. Do you know if these 2 stains give different results? The 6666 is a cobalt-free stain, but does contain manganese (which I try not to have in my glazes) and I've seen others' work where it has a slight brownish cast, while the 6600 does contain cobalt and probably goes blueish when thin???

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this advice. Our community studio is doing the annual (apparently, it’s my first year involved here) market and the last time I sold stuff was before computers! I kept potting and giving it away ( family etc) when I could and I’d do throwing sessions in the kindy or junior school, but arthritis in my hips now stops that. I am so hoping to at least sell some bits to cover my production costs and just so I can justify doing more. I do love making pottery. Also saying you don’t do orders! I am so taking that! I hate the anxiety it causes and if what I’ve made is what they wanted etc. love watching your kiln openings, and have a huge wishlist of glazes from them for eventually. I’m in Adelaide, South Australia. ❤
