This is confirming everything God spoke to me yesterday from the entire book of Philippians. Die to self, serve with a sacrificial love, not esteeming myself higher than my husband, not looking to my husband to meet my needs, but to God. I had been saying how can I keep pouring from an empty cup? God said He will fill my cup and I read that Paul said something about pouring himself out 😂...let me tell you God is DEALING with me, my pride, so He can be reflected to my husband in a way that will draw him closer to Christ. Whew God help us!!!

You are not surrendering your prodigal spouse to God.” I realize that this has been my heart posture towards God for well over two years now. It’s like I’m saying to him: “God, I know you love her more than I do, but I’m not convinced that your plan for her and me is the best, so I remain in a constant state of fear and anxiety. I need you to give me the chance to fix this marriage.” I think I didn’t want to admit this to myself or to God, but the truth is that only He can fix what has been broken. My job is to cooperate with him when he gives me the green light to do so. But ultimately, He’s the only one who can restore what has been broken. If my reconciliation means other innocent people's damage, God will not support me. If I pray for restoration of my marriage, but my ex spouse is remarried, I pray for the other woman's or man's broken relationships as well. My own marriage will be restored, and my ex spouse's new partner will be in runis? It's not good direction and not a Christian solution. 😢

Hi Jamie. Agree that despite somebody being a couple counselor, it's possible to have relationship problems. These are two different things. I don't agree with one argument. If somebody criticises our intentions to get back our prodigal spouse, that person is used necessarily by the Enemy. Hm. I think it depends on. If somebody says give up 6 months after the separation, yes, it's not the leading of God. But for example, 7-8 years after divorce and any small happening toward reconciliation, somebody says, step back, brother or sister and think after this situation, that is not necessarily the act of the Enemy. I understand the examples of Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David etc. In these stories these men waited 20-30-40 years. Not easy question. I don't agree that the free will only a myth nothing else. The free will is a real thing, and we have free will because we are the image of God as well, spirutual creatures. Not the free will is the myth, but the omnipotence of the free will. God can change our prodigal spouse's free will, but our prodigal spouse has to chance throught their free will to resist toward God and reconciliation. "Unfortunately" he or she has chance to do it. I think it's a good advice to say keep strong and try to everything to reconciliation. But I think that is not, saying OK, keep strong because 100% guaranteed that your prodigal spuse will goes back to you.

Yes. A lot of Christians say in these situations, oh God will choose for you a better person in the future! Let him/her go! Who wants to go, will to go! Etc. I agree with you that these voices are not based on New Testament. God invests a lot in a married couple. And because of a simple divorce, God will lose His all investments? According to the Gospels, not. That is possible that the prodigal spouse doesn't want to hear the voice of God and doesn't want to cooperate on reconciliation. A little testimony. My wife divorced me after 11 years because of my adultery. I confess this sin to God and to her, and tired to change the situation without success (at the moment). A few months before our divorce trial, we attended on a Sunday Mass. The teaching was about a prodigal son. A sentence said this: we Christians have a worldly attitude as well, when we don't want to give a second chance to others to fix their failures. I said to my wife this same sentence in that week!!!!! So the teacher said the same sentence, what I said to my wife a few days earlier. This was not a random happening. God said in the teaching to my wife to change her attitude. I heard about your teaching about the myth of free will. Yes, I agree that God doesn't invade anybody's free will, but influences that. If a Christian marriage couldn't reconcile, that is not God's failure, not because God doesn't want it, or God will to give you a better partner, because your prodigal spouse walks opposite whit God's plan. 😢 I did it during adulary, my wife does it in divorce.

Serious problem among Christians as well, that they misunderstand the slavery mindset of wife and husband. The postmodern world yelling everywhere not be a slave! Be free! Your body and your life is your choice! You have right to decide over your own life! etc. This mentality spreads among Christians as well. You have right to divorce from your wife or husbands if you fall out of love from him or her. Oh Jesus, I divorce because we had some problem and I fall out of love! And they bend the God's words: Oh, Jesus, I don't need restoration, give me another partner, because you love us and redeemed us. OMG. The out of love ideology became a green card: I have right to do this and do that, because I am falled out love from my spouse, never mind that we was a convenied couple in God. So there is a huge darkness in Christian heads as well. But the main reason of this darkness is misinterpreting the Paul's teaching about slavery.

I was left in illness I do love them and forgive them, I truly do but I had a brain infection and was often outta my brain’s ability to function normally and I said things I didn’t mean when my brain was on fire , please pray God reveals and mends and restores and pours out love mercy and forgiveness and understanding and that the Holy Spirit and God and Jesus repairs and strengthening us as one in Him again in Jesus name , it would be a beautiful miracle

God spoke to my heart at the front of our separation. He not only said He would restore it, but He also said on the other side of it, I would never doubt Him again. This message brought tears to my eyes. So beautifully set out to confirm what The Lord spoke to my heart. Many blessings to you. Hi Jamie. A question: you speak a lot about spiritual endurance of marriage restoration. These are very helpful topics, but one thing is not clear. What we can do actually for our reconciliation? In other words: a faithful warrior makes practical steps for reconciliation as well or only waits when his/her prodigal spouse comes back? For example: texting to their ex? Invites they for a meeting? Writes an accountability letter? Try to make emotional connection during separation?
