Any advice on how to proceed when one of the parts breaks? The tip of C11 broke off and now I’m stuck.
Sometimes I am able to use glue, sometimes that does not work. You should be able to get replacement parts here. www.rokronline.com/pages/part-replacement
My dude. I never comment on TH-cam videos but I had to just say thank you for this! I was stuck in step 12, the gears just kept falling out all over the place. This video was so helpful, especially because I could compare with your model and see that some of my little yellow washers had gotten smooshed together and I needed to pry them back apart. I was ready to throw this in the fire pit! So thank you. Mine is now complete, though a little fragile. :)
I am glad you found it helpful.
Fantastic idea
Hello. I'm currently building this and I could not find the piece e1. do you know where to find it?
I reviewed my original footage. The e1, lower case, is inside the arch of the E1, upper case. The e1, lower case, is the small pieces your looking for. If they are missing you should be able to get replacements here. www.rokronline.com/pages/part-replacement
@rgauck Thank you sir! It helped and I have found it. ☺️
There's some missing parts in mine
You should be able to get replacement parts here. www.rokronline.com/pages/part-replacement
This is how you make a video for the 3D wood puzzles. No loud head banging music with 10 times fast forward speed. Take your time, point out the specifics in case you miss them on the directions which I did a couple of times. Precise and to the point, thank you very much. I'm only on step 4 but I'm gonna follow you to the end, you got another sub.
I hope you find the rest of the video useful as well.
Im only at 16 minutes of video but you have helped me so much!! Thank you!!!
I hope you find the rest of the video useful as well.
You keep going off camera? The 2 sections I needed to see but you didn't record
Oh my, Which sections did I miss?
There is NO C4, it's a W1.
I am interested in which page your comment is reffering to. Is it page 5? Where C1, C2, C3, and C4 are assembled into W1 or P7 where W1 is installed?
Ya lo terminé
My daughter bought this for me for Father's Day and I just completed it. I have assembled many wood puzzles from Rokr, Ugears and Wood Trick. Your video definitely helped with the assembly. The wood used by Rokr is not nearly as good a quality as Wood Tricks. As soon as I pulled the piece back and it locked in place part C5 broke as I hit the release button. C5 was installed at section 4 and I wasn't going to uninstall it just to glue it back together, the cheap wood used by Rokr should not be made for something like this that is a working mechanism. Anyway thanks for video, it was great, the wood not so great. For a little extra money I'll stick with Wood Trick puzzles. I haven't had a bad piece yet with them.
I have not done a Wood Trick puzzle yet. I ordered one to check it out. Thanks
@@rgauck At 1:20:25 where you were trying to pull, release the trigger is the exact same problem I had. That's where C5 broke because this wood is to easy to break, you can't bend this stuff, it's to weak. It reminds me of the old Balsa wood airplanes from many years ago. I ended up taking it apart, gluing back together and then adding 2 staples to it so it wouldn't break again and it works great now. Once again thank you for the video and good luck with Wood Trick, I think you'll be happy with their wood puzzles.
does it work as actual clock ? and is it accurate ?
There is a battery operated clock on one side and a timer on the other side. The timer uses the spring and pendulum. I have not tested it for accuracy.
From where to get the element number P4? I cannot find it anywhere in the set
P4 should have been in the plastic bag with the steel shafts. If your unable to find it you may be able to order a replacement part here. www.rokronline.com/pages/part-replacement
It certainly didn’t take my son and me 2 hours, even with this video, more like 20 as I had to backtrack a fair few times as the printed instructions are mediocre. Had fun at least. I suggest using one of the shorter leftover metal rods and caps at the bottom side to thread through the aligned holes to hold the two main parts of the base and the shaft in place. Frankly, it’s puzzling how many parts are left over.
There are a lot of left over pieces. I am glad there are. I have had to use the spare pieces when I have broken some pieces. This took me about 4-5 hours to build. I generaly remove the part where I am snapping out pieces from the plywood sheet. I like your suggestion as well.
Hi, i would love to know in section 11 how to stop the gears from jumping out. I noticed you had some trouble too. Great video!
Once it is fully assembled it does work better. Gear allignment is a issue I had. I just kept tinkering with the gears and frame to get the gear to allign.
My wax is melting, what should I do? It's broken every time I apply it
You can use candle wax. I usually melt the candle wax into smaller pieces to make the wax more manageable.
oh thx
A8 snapped
You should be able to order a replacement part here. www.rokronline.com/pages/part-replacement
You are the best the way you describe it you take your time and that’s what I like. I feel that you’re the only one you are a good teacher and have patience and thank you now I’m going to start doing mine. I have one I a gift and I have to do it thank you.
Thank you for your kind words.
thanks for the video. i wanted to see if anyone else had trouble with section 14 where you get the tip of the timing device through that hole and i see i wasnt the only one haha. great vid!
Great video. I couldn't have done this without your video.
2 HOURS, i didnt know what i got myself into huh
In general it takes about twice as long to build as the length of the video.
When i purchased, i saw its demo in the shop, the globe was rotating by itself, but after making it, the globe is not rotating by itself. we have to manually rotate it
The one I purchased is manually operated as well.
your the best I had such a great time making this and following along to you thank god you made a video I would never assemble this on my own
I am glad you found the video helpful.
where did you get your angled tool from?,great video by the way.
I ordered it from Amazon. It is called a Chip Lifter. Here is a selection of them. www.amazon.com/s?k=chip+lifter&crid=3C2U9GKVO4M6A&sprefix=chip+lifter%2Caps%2C94&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
Hi Robert. At around 1 hour 54 you are trying to push the cog parts into the disc. They are a very tight fit. Did you just end up using brute force, I can't quite see how you managed to get them to engage?
I was wiggling the piece slightly while pushing down. I don't remember using a lot of force. It's a difficult angle. The other thing you can try is to sand a slight bevel into the post that will make it allign better.
@@rgauck Thanks. Came at it in the end by angling the part so that one lug engaged, then shoved the other side in. Seemed to do the trick :)
The kits always have missing parts. Takes weeks to get them. The engineering is first rate. A real challenge.
Oh my that's not good. So far I have been very lucky when it relates to missing parts.
I find the best way to get your needed parts are buy 2 units and return 1.
I just recently got mine but it said something about wax…do you know which wax do they mean?
I have tried candle wax and it worked well. The candle I used was made of small pellets so I melted the pellets then created small solid pieces of wax.
Completed. Your guide was very helpful, thank you. Quick question where can I buy a lighted stand/ base like yours?
I purchased it from Amazon. This link will provided a selection, hopfully one will suit your needs. www.amazon.com/s?k=Motorized+Rotating+Display+stand&i=garden&crid=1PZU3RCW8G1A2&sprefix=motorized+rotating+display+stand%2Cgarden%2C92&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
Sir, My E1 is missing two, i can't find them 😢😢
You should be able to get replacement parts here. www.rokronline.com/pages/part-replacement
@@rgauck Thanks you sir, your intrucsion is easy to understand but, this puzzle is really hard for me, this puzzle driving me crazy 😌😭
Which section is giving you trouble? I will try to make some suggestions.
@@rgauck My gear don't spin smoothly sir, even though i already give it wax, sound like, "tik...tik..tik" and the sound in the end is like "Krekkk".
Did you happen to check gear function as you went along? If you did, where was the last successful test? Do the horses move up and down at all? Does T1 rotate at all? T1 can be found in section 1 at the bottom of the first page middle frame.
I spray the parts with F 2 airplane wax. I also use it on my stain glass projects. Great for polishing your car, household furniture etc.
Thanks, I will have to give that a try.
Great engineering but major problems with missing parts.

Yo... Thank you for such an amazing, easy to follow, and comprehensive build video! I'm following along with yours as I build mine. I've been watching your vid and switching back and forth with UGEARS official build vid also. Yours is much better for seeing exactly how the pieces work and fit. I watch the UGEARS one to just double check for fitment and stuff. Theirs is good. But fast and offer no vocal help. I like that you actually go through the entire build explaining things as you go. And to top it all off .... You have chapters for each page! Awesome!!! This is only my second wood kit. The first one was Rokr's Illuminated globe lamp. It turned out ok. But I realized I could probably find something online to help with this one, especially since it's way more complicated than the globe one. You def got me a a new sub! Thanks again for the effort and time you put into making this awesome video! \m/
Thank you for your kind words.
Great video, and thank you for making things so easy to understand. The best example of building this loco that ive seen.
I am glad you found it useful.
Just finished mine the moving parts are so stiff! I waxed it but they don't seem to turn properly. :(
In general, it will get better as the wax is distributed.
@@rgauck Thanks mate. :)
Have just been given one as a birthday present, have watched all your videos on this model and will be starting my model soon. Hope that it turns out as well as yours. Have enjoyed this video, many thanks. Professor Ken.
I hope it goes well. Please let me know when you finish.
I got this for christmas and stuck in section 6. What has me stuck is trying to get the little black rings to go into the pieces. Granted i dont have a hammer to help, but whenever i try to put the piece in, about half of the circle doesn't want to go in.
It's at the point where I'm frustrated with it and just feeling fine with what I've finished so far.
You might try sanding a slight bevel on the holes to help place the P6's. A bit of wax might help as well.
thank you for this tutorial. I love it.
I am glad you found it useful.
Does this globe rotate automatically or manually?
It is rotated manually.
My proud made me try to not watch this. Sadly for two specefic situations i reslly did have to check. I am happy and grateful for this instructive video! Its a beautiful piece and its so much fun to make
I am glad the video was useful.
Bought the Rokr Curious Discovery solar system 3D model for my wife, who is an excellent, detailed craftsman, and we could not be more disappointed. It's certainly a difficult assembly with many, many parts and steps. However, even with the most careful assembly, the gears just don't work, which totally eliminates the objective. The planets don't turn and she is ready to smash the thing after hours of tedious work.
Oh my, Does it seem to be binding in the base or in the gears that turn the planets. I am trying to get an idea where I should focus any suggestions.
I just got this today as I’m 10 and this will help me soo much
I hope you find the video useful. My recomendation is to take you time.
Excellent video for assembly. I struggled at first to achieve more than a few minutes of time until I relubricated with Impresa wood lubricant all the gears and areas where pieces may slide over each other. What an improvement! Then I cut a toothpick about 3/4 of a mm longer to replace the one on page 62 that goes into the sphere. Also, remember to wind the clock completely. I'm now achieving 2-to 3-1/2 hours.
I am glad the video was useful. Your getting a good amount of runtime, I am glad to hear that.
Wait... What??? Hours! Damn! Thanks for the idea for lubricants!

Hi Robert, i dont know if youre still answering questions but, Im having trouble with part D1. It seems like it is supposed to rotate independantly from part B9/C8 but it rotates at the same rate and doesnt spin gear c. I can hold part D1 in place to spin gear c but it wont do it on its own. Is there a way to fix this? Im also having trouble with part C8 as it is tilted on the music box and gets caught on the platform below iy
D1 should turn independently of B9/C8. Gear c touches the cogs on the inside of E7 (see section 7). Gear c will rotate as is turns with B9. Then gear c causes D1 to rotate. If C8 is not level the cogs will not mesh properly. I had to make some sanding adjustment to A7 in section 1. One of the A7's would cause the music box to be tilted. This caused missalignment issues. If this doesn't help let me know.
