Third trip ever to the Nürburgring, evening tourist ride on the Nordschleife. My 13th lap on the track overall, keeping it safe and fun, avoiding getting too close to the cars I follow.     Why is the steering on the left? Could you tell me which country version this GC8 is? I’m looking for a gc8 in the U.S however it’s never produced, wonder if I could import one, can’t do Japan or UK since don’t know how to shift with left hand 😂

      It's a EUDM Subaru GC8. European market. This one is French to be specific. USA didn't have the 2 liter, but in your country you can find a 2.5 RS I think

    Change the shitty TD04 to a IHI VF34 and use other tyres, the Ad08RS is nice on the street but on a racetrack...

      The RS compound is crap compared to the R compound so the Z really had a tyres advantage with more width and grip. I don't really feel the need to run wider tyres and I can't anyway, 225 are already rubbing at places. I'll just get different tyres when I get the chance.

      Put a Vf35 or 39. That will bring you to 300 fairly easy. But no more than 330

      @@milossshhh999 Hey thanks for comment. Indeed in the latest video I have installed the STI rear differential, but in this video from 2019 I had only the STI gearbox at that time, with stock open diff at the rear!

    You don't have a radiator fan switch? I wired it up after getting tired of turning the heat to max after a bit of hard driving. Tell me if you want to know how I did it.

    Si pas de reconfinement, je devrais pouvoir aller rouler à Dijon fin du mois. J'ai regardé pas mal de vidéos pour appréhender ce circuit qui comporte pas mal de subtilité pour un tracé en apparence simple, et celle-ci est de loin la plus instructive. Super pilotage et excellent instructeur comme on aimerait en croiser plus souvent. Merci Revo pour ce précieux partage :)

      I really like the Ceika brakes so far. As a brand new kit with all included (calipers, rotors, pads, braided lines), they actually come in cheaper than a used set of STI Brembos with quality pads and rotors. Plus the Ceika calipers with 330x28 rotors aren't fat compared to the STI Brembos, so they can fit under most wheels (they do fit in my Prodrive RB5 17x7 ET52 wheels, that's quite impressive. The brembos would need around 1cm spacers...)! So for me it's a total win. And of course the braking performance and endurance is better than OEM :) I'm just using the stock Ceika "sports" pads for now, and it's doing a good job. But the pads pattern is a standard shared with AP Racing and other famous brands, so you have a lot of choice in aftermarket pads for the Ceika calipers (like Pagid pads).

    How do these feel for street driving? im not sure if i buy the KW V1 or the ST XTA for my GT, XTA is little more expensive but you can adjust more than V1

      They can be harsh on the street imo, that's to be expected compared to OEM of course. KW V1 could be more suitable for the street, less adjustable but maybe better valving for better comfort ? I can't tell, never tried the V1s. I had a ride as a passenger in a KW V3 equiped WRX9, and the comfort was brillant for the street (and of course very capable on the track). But that was a different car and a different KW product range, maybe not a fair comparison. Yet, I feel like the true KW products are more optimized for allround usage. If I were to make my coilovers choice again, I would spend the extra money and go for the V3s. ST XTA are good in their price range though, for tracking or driving on streets that are not trash. But quite hard on the bumps or uneven roads.

      @@TurboMaup thank for the quick and well written response! i have had KW V1 on a BMW E39 i had and it is the best coilover ive ever driven. but then again a BMW E39 has really good and comfortable suspension from the factory. i might just save for the V3 then, i have KYB AGX with lower springs for my GC it is much more comfortable than on the impreza GF i bought which has cheap coilovers that bounce on every little road imperfection. i live in rural area so pretty much every road has small bumps in it

      ​@@xav1uz I had KYB AGX + Eibach Street springs before switching to the ST XTA. These were much more comfortable, and I would have kept this setup if I wasn't tracking the car too seriously. IMO it was nice for a street setup, and did okay on the occasionnal trackdays. If I were you, I would actually leave it be... Unless you have specific reasons to switch to coilovers. To be more precise about the ST XTA, I feel like the harshness mainly comes from the back. When I installed them, I did front only first and did a quick test drive around the city: it was still fairly comfortable for coilovers with 6k springs. Then I added the rear and I immediately felt more harshness back there. Thing is there are 4k springs at the back but they are not progressive, whereas newer Impreza models do receive progressive springs at the back on most of their coilovers. I don't know why this choice on the CG/GF chassis. It makes the coilovers more responsive for the track, but less comfortable for the street I believe...

      Salut, oui je pense qu'il y a un sens de montage, ne serait-ce que pour avoir les encoches pour passer les câbles ABS et durites de freins du bon côté de l'amortisseur.

    This model with open diffs, without dccd ECC does it slide a little bit under throttle or it is just grip and understeer?

      It understeers, no rear sliding from throttle action.

      did u try to make rear sway bar stiffer and some camber up front like 2 deg

    Hey mate, interested to know what tune they did to get that power figure on a stock 205/td04 set up? It seems like an exceptionally aggressive tune for a stock set up on e85

      Hey, basically the stock engine can deliver 280HP on E85, given an appropriate fuel pump and decat exhaust. But I'm talking flywheel HP I guess, not at all fours. My tuner doesn't dyno the car, it's estimated from road pulls using a software that turns out to be accurate enough for those who dynoed their car later. Also the stock injectors are working at their limit of course, but the car has been doing fine with this setup for 5 years now. In my case I added equal length headers, hence the extra HP. But I agree with you, it's maybe a bit overestimated. I have a stock-ish TMIC, intake temps are probably not good and I don't think the car is pulling 300HP consistently.
