16:33 I thought it is necessary to be pointed out Acc. to IS 13920:2016 which maam is reffering to , the clause 8.1 c) For rect ties h >300 cross ties are required Assuming cross tie is provided across middle rebars, h= (50-40-40)/2 = 210 < 300 mm OK So, if h = 210 mm For 10mm dia bars maxm stirrup spacing, maxm sv round offs to 141mm Even for 8mm dia , sv =90.44

S/g will be 2.5. You will also have vertical load which will be about 2/3 of base shear.
If you make an Excel sheet of above then all these calculations can be easy. The vertical load I have mentioned is seismic.

Nicely explained in a simple way. But the main steel for the vertical walls to be placed vertically not horizontally as mentioned.

During design of wall thickness Gravity load is not considered??
Dr. Saleema Panda Ma'am, I have a few doubts regarding the design presented in the video. BM you considered for design of vertical walls and main reinforcement placement. You have idealized the vertical walls to be a propped cantilever, right and calculated the BM also using same idealizations. Then the main reinforcements should also be in vertical direction rather than in horizontal direction.
hi, in this septic tank you have not provided projection at the base slab as shown in the video of design of water tank. also, when the tank depth is more than the length it does not behave as retaining wall then how to analyze the tank.

At 2:12 2.65+.15 should be 2.8m, not 2.68. Thanks for the effort. Also, I was curious why u have used 2.8 for max bending moment calculation 9:18 , and then 2.68 for the weight of the walls 15:24 and weight of the soil projection 16:05 .
