Keep in mind that's only really true at low gear levels. Wizard hits VERY hard with a lot of gear to the point fighters are basically loot pinatas due to lack of MDR lol

@@SpringHeeLJaK89 A good panther Druid is arguably the hardest matchup for a Wizard, probably just ahead of longbow Ranger. If you aren’t gonna build for strong melee (ice shield + ignite + physical power + action speed), you have to get very significant damage on them before they close the gap on you. Once they get close enough to get ready to pounce on you, you have to invis-juke and make space to do damage again. The problem is that if you do happen to deal significant damage to them before they get too close, a good Druid will just run away to heal up and you will *never* ever catch them. So it’s a balance of not scaring them away completely, but not letting them get close enough to actually hit you. Intense Focus can help you punish them before they can pounce, if you like to run that skill. I’m not gonna lie, it’s absurdly difficult and I only pull it off every now and then. One big tip I can give is to always shoot your projectiles slightly over their head if they are in chicken or panther form because they most likely will jump and if you don’t aim high, it will hit their leg if not completely miss. @SqueakyFrank thanks. I managed to escape one cutthroat just to get cutthroat again several seconds later. I wish theyd just delete druid already or atleast not give them the best of every class.

@SqueakyFrank hahaha, fr that why I've stopped playing wizard a while ago, after running hr trios and being paranoid of every corner and spamming light orbs every game. While watching my teammates playing chill without being scared of dying in 2 sec from random invisible rogue. I can't stress how many times I've died cuz I asked my teammates to stay close and protect me while they W pushed a strangly positioned 2 guys in trios.

@@GanemJohn Invis recently got buffed to get two charges with looping cooldowns. That with hide mastery makes them be able to get close to infinite invis, and then if they stack enough Buff Duration (through Will or just standard Buff Duration random rolls) they can actually stay invis just about indefinitely

@@SqueakyFrank yeah i tried this build, it costed around 5k stacking resourcefullness and buff duration, each invi last 2s more than its cooldown. very funny, but not very strong

@@SqueakyFrank They can also stack resourcefulness for the interaction speed while stealing and because resourcefulness also lowers the cooldowns of skills. That's why he was holding a Lyre

in 3000 hours of playing DaD, nothing ever made me feel remotely similar to this

To be fair title says it's practice for a tourney - so the sweating makes sense. But yeah, this sort of thing doesn't exactly make me want to try the game either hahah

@@SpringHeeLJaK89 their main function is as a molatov to deny melee enemies from forcing me into close quarters. Good melee players will find a piece of cover and just hug/circle it as they heal, forcing you to get into melee range if you want to deny that. An oil lantern or explosive bottle creates a lasting AOE on the ground, forcing them away from the cover and giving you a chance to hit them out in the open. This also works when you know someone is camping a doorway or a corner. It just flushes them out of cover. The secondary utility of it is just the light part of it. It can light up an area from VERY far away, in a situation where you would otherwise have to throw/retrieve torches continuously.

To be honest, after trying it for a few hours, it’s not worth it. I had nearly 60 Knowledge (110% cast speed) here which took every piece being legendary/unique knowledge gear….and it still feels as slow as like base wizard. Unless they reduce the cast time of Sorc spells, or give Sorc a huge cast speed perk, it’s just not worth it.

@@SoliditySam exactly. Legendary spellbook turns base damage of lightning bolt, lightning sphere, fire arrows, and Windblast from 10 to 15. Those are the main spells I rely on, so having them hit 50% harder helps a ton.

@ if I do play I’ll probably play sorc, sorc is so good at surviving landmine unlike wizard

I think the only time I had fire mastery equipped was at the very beginning during the key explanation, and it was on because I had been running 10-spell, which included fire spells. Funny enough I was actually using it to help combat Rogue invisibility, not for anti-heal.

I can’t even remember how/when I decided where to put each of my spells, but I will never ever move invis from top-left bc when I need it to survive, the tiniest hesitation to look at the spell wheel is the difference between living and dying

@@whelve13 I’ve always felt like the marketplace/trading post was a poison to the game, it tastes sweet at first but eventually it kills the magic. Sadly, to compete with others who use it, I have to use it too :/ Definitely plan on more self-found streams/videos!

@SqueakyFrank I have around 100 hours in the game, and i have never reached more than 10k gold in my stash, and whenever I get to sell an expensive item in the trading post I feel really satisfied and happy but after a while it just becomes bland... and boring also... Ironmace should really think of an improvement

Agreed. Much more interested in self found gameplay than “buy to build”
