Normanville/Second Valley | Dusk and Night fishing for Garfish & Tommies | Fishing South Australia
Dodge tide isn’t the best time to fish but when it’s the only time you have, you take it!
In this video we head down to Carrickalinga first to try off the beach with some beach worms to see if we can tempt a fish to bite. The section of beach I chose to fish has a lot of structure in the form of a rocky reef, unfortunately the fishing was slow at this spot but it will be worth fishing again when the tides improve.
The second part to this video is night fishing the very short jetty at Normanville first and then Second Valley later on. I run through the setup I use for my night time Garfish rig and give a few tips on how to fish this style. This style of fishing is a great way to catch fish not only from Jetties at night but also from rocky area's that drop off into deep water.
I did manage a few fish even on a dodge tide so it just goes to show, if you put the time in even on poor tides, you can still get a feed. I will revisit the night fishing once the tides improve and I get a chance to fish it again.

Somerton Beach | METRO Land based King George Whiting & Blue Swimmer Crab | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 29K3 ปีที่แล้ว
There have been a lot of things keeping it me off the water lately but I managed to find enough time to pop down to Somerton Beach for a land based session on one of South Australia’s iconic species, the King George Whiting. I came to the decision to fishing for KG Whiting mainly because of the last time I fished Metro (Seacliff Beach) I caught lots of undersize King George Whiting and had a fe...
Adelaide Hills DAM YABBIES | Freshwater Crayfish | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 3.2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Yabbies, Crawdad, Crawfish, Mudbugs, freshwater Crayfish! It doesn't matter what you call them they are a lot of fun to catch and they are also very nice to eat! I headed down to the main dam at the farm to see if the Yabbies have started crawling. The weather up here in the hills has been all over the place with only a few warms days and plenty of cold days/nights. However since we are now in ...
Seacliff Beach | Pumping Nippers | Yellowfin Whiting Bait Collection | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 4.8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Headed down to Seacliff Beach to see if I could find a Yellowfin Whiting but also to pump out some nippers for Bait. Nippers , Saltwater/Bass Yabbies, Clickers or what ever you want to call them are some good bait that you can find on a lot of the tidal sand flats here is South Australia and further abroad. It takes a little bit of effort to pump them out but they are worth it, make sure to gra...
Cape Jervis Dusk/Night Fishing | Tommies & SQUID! | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 3.8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I decided to take a drive down south in the late afternoon to see if I could get some Tommies (Australian Herring) for bait and a bit of food. The original plan was to stop at Wirrina Marina to fish the rocks for some Squid before trying for the Tommies down at Cape Jervis. When I arrived at Wirrina there were plenty of cars parked by the wall so I popped up to the top to have a look and it was...
Point Riley Land Based SQUID | It Pays To Have a Backup Plan | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 3.9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
After fishing Thompson's Beach I decided to keep driving and head over to Yorke Peninsula to see if I could find a few more Squid. I picked my location at Point Riley and headed for the rocks with a couple of rods to see if the Squid wanted to play ball. I did managed a few Squid until the tide came up too high and forced me off the rocks ending a great little session. I can't wait to get back ...

There is no doubt that the days are getting longer and that Summer is just around the corner. I decided to get my Friday deliveries done early and as quickly as possible to give me a chance of walking the Northern sand flats to see if I could find an early season Yellowfin Whiting. This is the first part of the Friday trip as I ended up fishing for some Squid off the rocks which will be the nex...

The weather was good and the girls are on holidays so we decided to shoot over to Yorkes for the day. Everyone had a great time walking beaches, finding hermit crabs, riding the water slides and catching a few Squid off the port Victoria jetty. I decided to give the Squid a go at dusk off the rocks while the girls ate dinner and had an excellent session before the youngest decided she was tired...
Catching Beach Worms | Dynamite Yellowfin WHITING Bait | Bait Collection | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 10K3 ปีที่แล้ว
It's getting to that time of year to chase the Yellowfin Whiting but before I can do that I need bait! I headed down to Maslin's Beach even though though I knew the swell would be up compared to previous videos. Once the tide dropped back far enough I was able to get onto the worms and they were hungry and easy to catch! Enjoy! Don't forget to Like and Subscribe if you like the content and as a...
Waitpinga Beach Australian SALMON | Bait And Burley | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 4.7K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Finally managed to find some free time and some decent weather to get down to Waitpinga Beach to try for some Salmon. I had a lovely afternoon waiting for the Salmon to turn up and was sure I would get a few fish at dusk and sure enough, they turned up! I must admit I got distracted chatting to a mate that I had not seen for a fair while so filming was lacks compared to some other videos I have...
Cape Jervis NIGHT FISHING for Tommies (Australian Herring) | Bait & Burley | Fishing South Australia
มุมมอง 3.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Now that we are starting to get into the cooler part of the year for us South Australians I thought why not get out and try for some Tommies (Australian Herring). I headed down to Cape Jervis and managed to get there bang on dusk, which is prime time for my targeted species. The fishing was fun but a little on the slow side considering just how hard Tommies can bite during their "prime time" bu...
YABBIES & MUSHROOMS | Adelaide Hills | Fishing & Foraging South Australia
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Having a little bit of time free I decided to check out the big dam to see if the Yabbies are still crawling or if they have shutdown for the winter. I only used the one net for this video as It's just a check trip, not a feed trip. I also headed to the local pine forest at Kuitpo to see if there were any eatable wild mushrooms available. There were several types of mushrooms and toad stools ar...
Myponga beach MULLET & FLATHEAD | Mullet Mix | Fishing South Australia

Managed to get a good day weather wise so I headed down to Myponga Beach again in search of some larger Silver Whiting. Armed with Mullet Mix and plenty of burley, anticipation was high. I did manage to catch some Silver Whiting but the size was a little too small for my liking so none were kept but luckily there were a few other species around. I do apologies for the dirty lens at the start of...

Hi, thanks for your videos. I have been fishing at Thompson's - (firstly with my Dad and now with some mates) for over 50 years and always find it to be a fun spot. I usually go to the same area over and over, but lately have been wandering around and around looking for the channel you show on your video: "Fishing the Flats - Searching for Gold" and to date have never found it! I know the channel marker out from the car park (at the end of the bitumen road in... and Ive also looked around in the water in front of the car park at the southern end of the township to no avail. Would appreciate some more info to locate if you are able to provide, thanks in anticipation
