Keep the 14, the only upgrade from there is a H2, R1s are great for short trips but longer rides are not so great, same with S1000RRR, Can't beat the big Ninja, steer better than a busa, primary balanced so no buzz through the grips and foot pegs. All around a better bike, just not as popular.

Been riding since 2008, and just last year i bought my first SuperSport bike (2023 zx6r) and it came equipped with a quick shifter (KQS) My 1st to 2nd shift is always hard unless you are in the throttle hard. And i just purchased a 2024 Aprilia RS 660 (picking it up Saturday) That one comes with quick shifter and auto blip 🙂 I can't wait!!! Ty for the great video, and that R6 is freaking gorgeous !! !!!

Its call power shifting or banging gears. I never used my clutch in my mustang gt after first gear. All about listening to your engine and knowing when to up shift at the right time!

Bro I race dirt bikes irl and I shift no clutch pinned on the throttle. If you can’t pull that shifter up full throttle it’s a skill issue😂😂😂. I’m not joking about shifting pinned no clutch though.

Amen - "learn the manual way" analog for this old timer is the way to go - leaves me in control over everything and is still fun practicing control everyday after all these years- if i was at the track, pushing it all the way then i can see where rider aids would come in handy but for me I turn off everything possible (especially when going up the canyon so i am in control). Also for me having the ability to turn off rider aids is a what will sway me to buy one bike over another similar. I don't want to have to be governed by electronics. Admittedly some things are nice like quick shifter but don't understand why everyone gets so excited about new electronics with the ugly as sin square block instrument panel that looks like my phone stuck to the bike. Guess what? Its not going to make you a better rider. but learning on analog will. Check out Fortnine where he talks about ABS - although overall a good thing, i guess, makes your stopping distance longer. Keep up the great work here. Thanks

I tell people to get what they want. I started on a 1000CC & people thought i was crazy for doing that, its really all about dicsipline & respecting the bike. Dont go above your means, & if you know you are a crazy adrenaline junky then start small. With how bikes are today, they have so much tech & modes on them that new riders will be ok.

So I grew up riding small dirt bikes and ATCs maybe for 5 years from 11-16yr old. I’m 43 now and really wanted a motorcycle. My wife let me get a 22 Honda Grom 😂 so I can get used to riding on the roads with traffic. I put 10k miles on it and I just picked myself up a Kawasaki versys 650. Turned street fighter. My first time on a full sized bike. It’s way easier to ride than the Grom was

A 600cc singel maybe, but not a high reving screamer with tons of hp packed in between 10-14krpm.

i started on a modded tuned R6 and i wouldn't change my choice based on anything. This video is on point with information. The R6 is so chill until 9-10k. The only thing i would add to this is if you start on 600 slowly introduce yourself to different levels of traffic before driving in dense traffic areas.

I’d love to get an old R6 and start on that, but I’m so nervous about crashing or accidentally doing a wheelie. I daily drive a manual car, so I don’t have any issues operating a clutch and shifting, but with bikes being so much more lightweight and torquey, I’m scared to go hard on one.
