Nice place and cheaper than anything stick built. The two things I don't like is the strips covering the sheetrock seems and the Seiling. Those two things make it look like a mobile home on the inside. That would be the only thing I would do differently.

Holly cow what a BREAK DOWN that was great very helpful for me because I am looking to buy a home and also thought about building. Home looks great hope you enjoy for many years to come!

You totally had me until you got to the interior walls. Seriously, sheet rock and some mud is just so much better than half assing it.

Don’t know where this house was built but there is no way I could get most of the materials and labor to build for anywhere near that price!

Any soil testing of ground structure? Hope you're not sitting on expansive soils (clay). Did you consult FEMA maps to determine threats from flood and other risks?

Before doing a video do a closeup of the mating surfaces. Around the exterior windows, doors, corner trim where the siding goes behind, around the exterior electrical outlets, and vents. To ensure that all mating joints are sealed with sealant to prevent infiltration of air, wind,rain,water. Federal Construction and Safety Standards. Section 24 CFR 3280.307 Resistance to elements and use. If these items are not sealed with sealant. You should report it to the State Administration Agency. Dude overpaid for almost everything but materials. 8k for plumbing is crazy. 9k for spray foam is crazy, and this build could have been done for an easy 50 k and that's probably 10k extra just Incase

Just curious as to what you would estimate the total man hours of volunteer labor is on this. Seems like most of your labor and your friend was just a few days worth here and there but multiple people so I'm wondering about what it would be like for one person or a husband and wife team. I can do most of what you did yourself but I'd still have to pay a good chunk extra out of pocket for the HVAC work.

Just the Cabinets and the install is Over $30,000 min. in California. That was the low bid I got. I did not do it.

I believe it build me one for the same amount and I'll buy it.
