None of those "cons" were that way to me, fortunately. I live in rural northern CA with some of the most high priced real estate so home prices in Prescott were no sticker shock. Same with wildfires....we live with those around here constantly, plus tons of wildlife like bears, coyotes, mountain lions, rattlesnakes and more. I'm retired and if the sidewalks roll up early, no problem! I am looking to relocate next year and seriously considering this area. Thank you for the great, informative video. Loved it!

I been considering moving there for last 3 years. Visit 2-3 times a year.

Reason #5 it's getting too crowded. I love Prescott but I don't know if I can handle so many people anymore. As for firearms. It warms my heart when my roofing salesmen shows me his gun. If 10% of the people (responsible gun owners) always carried you would know that you live in a safe place. Having said that. There was a shoot out between some bikers out in Chino Valley a mile away from where I lived about 10 years ago or so. But that isn't common.

Number 1 reason you may not want to move to Prescott, a lot of commiefornia people invaded our once beautiful Prescott... Which then means, you will not be able to afford a home because they DRIVE our housing prices EVEN HIGHER! My beautiful state is being over run by people that left their state because they let it turned into a sh*t hole... Sorry but TRUE! An Arizonian Opinion Only!

sounds like sisters oregon. at least those folks push out California. and its been working. everyone is kind, helpful and things are inexpensive.

On our first trip back to Prescott after many years, our realtor suggested we stay at the Hassayampa Inn. Upon checking in, the front desk personal mentioned that silent movie actor Tom Mix once road is horse up the stairs to his room when he was staying there. They also said the horse later took the elevator back down to the front lobby.

Do you know some the history of Prescott? One of my favorite memories . Watching as a kid ,when the old Bashford home, house was moved right down Gurley st ,to it's now present Location by the Charlotte hall Museum? Corner of Gurley &McCormick St.

So all you out of Towner's found Prescott, so what!We are from Prescott and there's more to living in Prescutt. Then a luxury home. Your not from the mile high city and will never ,-can eve,r experience The mile high city as the original prescotonians have.Yes I am from Prescutt as they once called the town,or Prescitt.I drive through the town often enough.The town belongs to all you out of towners,Enjoy!

Prescott Valley reminds me of the suburban sprawl in SoCal. Also its original name was Jackass Flats. Unfortunately what I considered the BEST restaurant in Prescott, AUGIES, was forced to close. I hope they soon find a more reasonable landlord here in Prescott!

I want to live there for the seasons. Where we are now, there's maybe 2 😂 We love the restaurants there BTW.

Are teachers in demand in Prescott? I'm a certified teacher looking to move to Prescott...is there a chance I'd be able to find employment as a teacher?

It's all relative right, well, I have been here 5 years now, love it. No, not a great place for the young for sure, great for the people who made their money someplace else and are getting ready to retire. Yes, sadly, if you are a native, renting and don't have a higher paying job, you will continue to struggle with increasing rent costs or purchasing a house. If you are a property owner, you are going to benefit from the influx of refugees from CA.... and the money they will bring with them. So, both good and bad. Also, not true regarding firearms, although I'm not an "open carry" fan, and carry concealed, I see open carry firearms on a weekly basis. However, it's refreshing to know that so many people concealed carry here!

June 2924. Officially over priced. And you could shave a very serious water problem in the future.

It's fine if you just sold your multi-million dollar home in Cali, then you could afford to live here, but for working class people the only jobs are retail, hospitality or construction, to build more homes for more people to move here. To rent here on a cashiers salary, forget about it!

My brother-in-!aw's brother moved to Prescott after receiving an inheritance.

My wife and I are looking at Prescott for retirement in a year or two after my son graduates high school next year. Moving from flat Texas and wanting Mountain views, no humidity.

I lived there, the city and the locals hate you if you are employed. Doesnt matter if you are a doctor or an electrician. They dont like seeing young people. Ive had several ppl pull out guns. Wave them around while talking about immigrants (who dont go to prescott) Theyve had their water tested and its failed countless times, often times teenagers get early cancer because most of it is actually i mining town for old school workers. So the water is contaminated with heavy metals because the actually rich DONT live in a shit hole like this. There are no jobs, the hospital kills more than saves and the locals hate anyone who isnt cancer ridden like them. Move here if you just wanna kill yourself by yhe sun set. Also dont ask about the folks who live out the in the hills, thats none of your fuckin business.
