I love C2C (corner to corner) crochet and you will too! If you can chain, slip stitch and Dc (double crochet), you can do this pattern. The older I get the more I understand why this was my grandma's favorite - it's fast, timeless, unisex, looks great in solids or multiple crazy colors, and there are no special stitches to remember.
The 36" x 48" sample shown took approximately 1200 yards of a chunky yarn called Major. I started with 2 balls each of #103 (Capri), #135 (Toile) and #144 (Unicorn). Crochet hook: US K (6.5 mm) Yes, you can get a bigger blanket out of that much yarn, but that's the size the customer who commissioned it asked for.
