Yup needed to see this video. The paradiddle from slow and simple to a slick build up of how to get creative with it. Great delivery.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Soon as I saw those sticks I knew you were corps. Love this. I marched LaSalle Cadets, Canada, til '73. Kit player now.

Never seen anyone swap tom 1 and tom 2 positions before. Interesting. What made you decide to set up like that? Nice lesson. Visuals help as sometimes when hearing drums played you can get lost on what's what. Especially for those who are just starting, or those who drums are not their primary instrument.
Glad you liked it! I did a whole video on why I switch those toms that you can see here: th-cam.com/video/ORVx_3UyDKw/w-d-xo.html
SO much in here. Im saving this1😊

Am a bigginer to drumming can you please help me with some skills and samples of how to drum 🥁 morely in praise and worship please
I've found that praise music uses the the same concept of back beat as all popular music for the past several decades. I teach three courses totaling thirteen videos on DrumTipTuesday.com They are "Rock and Read" "Kick Grid 8th notes" and "Ghost Strokes" You don't have to be able to read to learn there. It's free to try for a week. Thank you so much for your interest, and good luck wherever you find your path.
Well played, nice flow to the piece.
Thank you very much.
Delicious!
You didn't really illustrate the points you made; you just played to the track.
You’re right, I tried to do something different, which is good from time to time. But that means that sometimes you make a video that is not as good as your usual.
Fantastic. Was that your own solo or the one you learned from the original track?
Thank you so much. That was my own improvised solo, and I wrote the track.

The great thing about this video as that you can choose not to watch it
From Venezuela 🇻🇪 I don't understand English much but yes I understand the exercises on the staff I also teach classes just like you music the universal language EXCELLENT your master work GOD bless you in CHRIST JESUS
Thank you for your kind words. I wish you well in your teaching.
Top👌👍👍
Thank you very much
Looks like I have a new favorite teacher on youtube. I really appreciate you showing the exercises on the pad, I find it more convenient to practice that way. I'd like to suggest that you specify BPMs so it's easier for people to set up a metronome to practice with you. Thanks for the video ✌️
I'm glad you're here with us ...and tempos, yes, I'll start doing that.
Hey man was wondering I was struggling a little with my ghost notes. I can hear in my head that keeping beat-offbeat? Do you have any particular exercise for this. Thank you. 🙏 namaste
Actually I teach a whole course on DrumTipTuesday.com about ghost strokes. You can check it out for free for 7 days, this is the trailer: www.drumtiptuesday.com/ghost-stroke-paradiddles/videos/ghost-stroke-trailer-1 I f you're not interested in that I can sum up the course in a few words. Basically I take four permutations of the paradiddle and create a specific beat and ghost stroke challenge for each, and break them down slow and one limb at a time. The lesson being: take a specific beat with a lot of ghost strokes and get crazy good at that, then choose another specific beat, etc... too often people try to approach ghost strokes as a large concept with very little specific application. I hope this helps. Thank you for commenting.

I’m sorry about the name. My boys thought it would be funny when they set my TH-cam up. I’m trying to change it
@@HarryBalzsac-p9g lol I didn't even notice until you said.
This is a great lesson, as usual. I have not looked into your drum school offering yet, but will. I’ve tried many online drum schools since spending years with advanced in-person teachers before moving to a much smaller city where that level of quality instruction simply doesn’t exist. Now, my clear favorite is JP Bouvet Method. I’m not a fan of the ‘big box’ online schools with 5 minute clips … simply as I consider them edutainment and not much learning, unless you take a lot of time to dig deep. Like a needle in a haystack. Simple answer: JP Bouvet Method.
Thank you for this comment. This is very helpful to me
What is your practice pad brand %?. Has a good crack to it. Thank you great lesson
Thank you. That pad is made by Xymox

Well boring it is NOT. Very musical and tasty, Nicely done
I've never been much for playing rudiments on the drum set, but I am going to be learning this! So this will be my favorite
I'm glad you’re going to give it a shot, I hope you enjoy it.
Very cool variations!
Thank you, I'm glad you like it!
Thanks Gabriel a must know paradiddle
Thank you! I’m planning to do a triplet version of this soon
I normally really like your videos, homie, but that ringing in the snare drum is driving me nuts! Lol! You rock, bro. 💪
I know exactly what you mean. I needed to crank a video out fast and it wasn't until very late in the editing process that I discovered it would be such a problem. It will be fixed for the next one. Thanks for enduring it
Fantastic Gabriel. Very impressive. Many thanks
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I shook my paradiddle rut by playing all kinds of linear orchestrations till i broke free.
Awesome canal, and lesson, and Master! for this kind of music material, theres is a method called "Double Binary Motor System" which deals very specifically with the combination of movement patterns in different lengths, cell, motif phrase, semi-phrase, etc. I highly recommend it, it is in various meters.
Thanks! I’ll definitely check that out!
Great lesson as usual, Thanks again!!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

So glad I stuck with the the video to the end. Sometimes with the real beginner stuff, I tend to get impatient, but this video takes you to the advanced level of exactly how to apply the rhudiment to a funky drumset groove that kicks a**. We are all told to apply the rhudiment to different surfaces and mix it up, but it is rare to find qualified instructional videos on exactly to do that. With some specific patterns on specific surfaces like this, it demonstrates a few ways to funk it up that include an open hihat and closed, the toms, and some beautiful ghost strokes, (NON ACCENTED). Whispers, is what my first instructor called them, as opposed to accented notes, he called shouts. This dynamic is what makes a lot of drummers sound basic, at first, untill you notice there is actually more being played to explain the funk you feel, but only subconsiously hear. Thank you for a great video!
Thank you for your contribution to this thread. I’m glad you enjoy watching the old rudiments style being applied to the drums.
From a long time guitarist who can slap out a straight beat I enjoyed it.
Starting on my weak side is why I am starting over completely without skipping the weak side exercises this time.
That's the way to do it!
Great lesson 🙌Great teacher 🙌🙌
Thank you! 😃 I'm glad you enjoyed it
Hey Teach What kind and size are the drum sticks you are using?
The one I use on drum set is a Vic Firth 5b and on the pad I like the M-Dawg corps master snare drum stick also by Vic Firth
@ thanks. I will be buying and trying both
Kodo drummers of Japan. Also irish and Scottish pipe drummers.
