A Perfect Score! What A Great Gun! The CZ P-10 C Review - Pawn Shop Pistols
Hello friends! Welcome back to PSP. Today, I'm doing things a little bit differently. A viewer reached out to me and asked if I wanted to buy a few firearms off of them and we made a deal, and this is one of the ones I got! So while I'm bending the rules a little bit about the "pawn shop" it's still second hand! I hope you enjoy, I had a blast with this one, and it's my first perfect score! What a treat. Sorry about the late upload as well! Got a little distracted with life, and a few projects on the side, but I should be back to my normal upload schedule now! See you in the next one!

I like that gun very much. Very nice-looking gun looks very well made. Good video. Nice info about the company.
Looking to get one someday, you can't beat the price under $400 and you don't have to spend another 200 to get it to be better.
Couldn't agree more! Definitely keep an eye out for one of these, it's a fantastic firearm.
Good review, I think I'm going to buy one. Sportmans has it for $249.99 until Sunday 9/15.
@@paulp.6399 It's a great pistol! Mine has been extremely reliable since I made the review. Enjoy!
@@PawnShopPistols Thanks for the reply, picked one up today. Nice gun, feels really good in the hands.
Very interested in this as my first handgun at age 65. Considering the Stoeger STR9 or STR9C as well.
@@danc3693 Took my SAR 9 out yesterday, very nice shooting pistol. I've owned many guns and this 62 year old recommends this gun wholly. Very soft shooting even with hot NATO ammo.
@@paulp.6399 Thanks for your reply!
i just acquired one. Not the easiest to take down. Your video really helped.

Pawn Shop Pistol : In Washington State brand new it's $140
Some just buy them for target practice not self defense. I have several hi points, the 380acp handgun the c9 9mm and the 45 carbine. . I.m getting the hi point 380acp carbine soon and maybe the 45acp pistol. Thanks
Needs a higher gain shell
The High point is looking pretty good now. To answer you question at the end I think, dig deeper into what the problem is and give us another video, likely it's a problem with that little button.
@tom_anderson The Hi-Point is a lifesaver compared to this! Haha I'll dig deeper in a future video. Thanks for watching!
Very unreliable gun in an emergency or self defense situation. 2 and 3 out of 5 more than fair. And no I would not spend more on it, it’s been fairly tested and sadly tested multiple times unreliable in self defense. Great vid as always.
Yeah. I would compare the mags and check the cutout
the problem nay NOT be with the magazines BUT the Magazine button/catch.
Good video the ammo is the problem most are not aware of !! The higher grain ammo is what that gun needs for a more reliable performance..
Idk but I think u put the spring backwards
At least it has a safety that blocks the fireing pin sear A lot of pistols have no safety at all. Jennings got a bad deal from the California Court, no gun company can garantee their product in the hands of idiots.
@@markwarnberg9504 Precisely
I think this is a piece of ... work type of a firearm...
Those Zamak zinc alloy guns are kind of fragile the same way Iron can be fragile. They were not meant to have a long-life span; they were meant to be cheap and easy to mass produce.
Believe it or not the one i had worked flawless
Thank you for this video now i understand better what the pistol was i had 20 years ago i thought it was a hipoint
Great video 98 % of my firearms were bought at my local pawn shops. My most recent purchase was a ruger lc9with laser ,ec9s, and lc9s pro all for 400 out the door.
@guynall4025 great deal! Glad to hear someone else likes to buy second hand!
I like rural
In Industry - Hi Point is considered to be just as good as a rock, & not as good as a pointy stick... With that said, I have heard that there have been some 'Better' ones in the past few years, and I'm happy to see some people have decent luck with one. I wouldn't own a firearm that I can't bet my life on. (Even for plinking as that might be what you have when you need something better). Know a few dealers that won't touch them.
I have had 3 of these over the years and still have my original one. 1st off these have the Smoothest recoil of any 45 I've ever shot. Now Judging by the looks of it when you have it apart i would say that that gun has barely been broken in. Now the catching during assembly and disassembly seems odd because all of mine always came apart like butter so yours may have still a bur or something that needs filed down or that normally wears down from shooting i dunno. But I have found the Easiest way to align the slide retainer is to have the dowel pin in the retainer untill you have the slide almost where it goes then pull the dowel pin out without turning the retainer then lift up and carefully slide forward and set it down in its hole then carefully pull back while holding the slide firmly and downward on the frame (emphasis on the firm hold because if it slips from your finges then have fun looking around the room for the retainer and fp spring) then reinstall the dowel pin. As far as firing malfunctions go like I said that gun looks like its barely broken in. Now i have read online that a common mod for these is to lightly file the feed ramp for more reliable feeding( im guessing maybe for federal ammo) because i never had any problems with any of mine but im also a cheap ass who buys cheap guns and cheap ammo lol
This is great information! Thank you so much for your in depth comment!
😂 somehow still looks better than modern high points
I bought one of these at a garage sale in the early 90s, thought I pulled a real coup. That was until I struggled to get it to go bang reliably once in a row most of the time! It did fire twice consecutively a time or two, but that's it. I traded it off for an FEG .380... at least that was lighter.
I REMEMBER THAT THING !
Not reliable. Get rid of it.
I don't think this is an everyday carry for him 😂
@@StinkyGringo A never day carry.
i own one, and its fun to show off at the range. its hilariously large and fun. not bad for an 80$ talk piece that surprisingly works..most of the time XD
Good review. Not reliable. Get rid of it.
A high point will kill you Wym not reliable 🤨
Get rid of it. Junk. Good review. Thx
It had a bit of a redemption in part 2! Due to is overall size, I think it's a great beginner's gun. I don't think I'll end up keeping it, but I learned a lot about clearing malfunctions with this thing! 🤣
Smaller? 380 is almost 10mm. 9.652mm to be more precise. So its much larger than the 9mm.
The 9mm cartridge is taller than the .380, but their bullet diameters are essentially the same. The 9mm cartridge is larger than the .380 ACP cartridge. The overall length of a 9mm round is 1.169” while the .380 ACP has an overall length of .984, so they are very close indeed! The main difference is usually grain, which is typically smaller than the 9.
No mention of the famous Zamak alloy, nor the fact that the firing pin is the ejector…?
Don’t take the barrel off unless you must. The alloy frame will wallow out and you’ll end up with a loose barrel. Also, you made it sound like the entire chamber area is aluminum…it’s not, the alloy “shroud” around the STEEL chamber and barrel is not holding any pressure. I cannot imagine it warping unless you heat the barrel FAR beyond normal use.
Agreed! I'm really glad someone else knows so much about these! I had to rely on old forum and blog posts for a lot of my information when researching this. Wish I knew you before! I even called up Hi-Point, but due to the original creator dying, they had no information to share with me.
@@PawnShopPistolstry emailing Ian McCollum (forgotten weapons). Tell him you're a TH-camr and what you have. He probably has a lot of information and may even want to do a video with your pistol. It is pretty interesting. You never know. Worth a try.
$200! $130? Your pawn shop is high, like, smoking’ high! That’s a $120 gun, haggling should get you to $100. Mine was $90, as were the JC 40 and the Stallard Maverick JS 9mm. Funny thing…the old alloy frame guns have been 100% reliable. And yes…it’s an ALLOY frame, not steel. The slide is also an alloy, but it’s heavy to make it a blowback. Hi Point managed to do what many said could not be done, and made the 9, the 40, and the 45 using unlocked actions.
Good info! Thank you for the corrections! While I would liked to have seen more than just 3 firearms come out of Haskell, I seriously love my Hi-Points. This thing was so much fun to shoot, I've ordered a lot more 45 to take it back to the range. I'm happy to see another owner! Glad you love it!
@@PawnShopPistols Technically there have been more than 3 Haskel built guns, since they are still the manufacturer of Hi-point 40's and .45's. Hi-point's are made in several different factories, and for awhile "Hi-point" was the distributor that they branded the guns as. Its a bit of a rabbit hole to go down. The company that started off Making Mavericks/Stallards, then went on making the 9mm hi-points (and later the carbines and 10mm pistols) was Stallard Arms in Mannsfield Ohio (Which became BeeMiller inc, then Strassel Machine Inc, and is now "Hi-point Firearms inc.). Haskel is in Lima Ohio. Finally Iberia Firearms made the "Iberia" (The .40 version of the Stallard/Haskel) and then made the .40 hi-points
Watch J Dalton videos he explains fixes for hipoints.
Best video yet, by far!
Could the ammo used be the problem. The slide is pretty heavy
Yes, great point! I mention that in my part 2 video after I got it back from Hi-Point. From now on, I always use two separate brands of ammo when I do my reviews, and make sure they're two different grains as well!
Another great video. Love the tie-in to Terminator 2.
Phukin yuk
My brother is in love with his HP 9mm He SWEARS by it ... I swear AT it, as when I shoot it I can't hit the broad side of a barn from 1 foot away. ;) So to each his own I say. Would "I" trust my life to a HP? Not a chance! You get what you pay for is a saying, and is mostly true I believe. I think I'll stick to my S&W Shield, and both my Glocks (used to hate those too). Having said all that you buy what you feel you can afford, and are comfortable with shooting so good luck and stay safe all my shooting friends out there. Good luck with your channel, I subbed.
My friend put a gun sleeve on,... balances the top heaviness.....
Great channel, keep growing it i enjoy the content...I personally like High Points, built like a tank with the best warranty lifetime out there.
Thank you so much! I hope you keep coming back! So far, I have yet to see another company with a warranty as good as theirs. They're very easy to work with!
love the high point lore
I had a buddy who used to have one of these (RIP) the rear sight broke, one half the plastic was gone. I would not bet my life on one of these, I spent about three times the cost of this firearm for a M1911A1 that runs like an old Singer Sewing Machine. I also have an Astra A100 that has never jammed and I carried her for 5 years on the PD, no thanks for the HI-Point, perhaps for a pinker but never bet your life on a gun that jams.
The difference in ammo can also be the brand. Not all ammunition is created equal. Many guns can be picky about the brand of ammo used in it. Just my 60 years of experience telling me you haven't considered all the possibilities. Did enjoy the videos even though I would never buy a highpoint .
I'm definitely learning some brands are more reliable than others, regardless of grain!
@@PawnShopPistolshow long did it take for High Point to fix and send back to you?
@@vintagefly6354 Just shy of a month!
I've bought 2 pawnshop Hi-Point models. C9 and JHP45. I found is since i don't have its history i have Hi-Point send me new firing pin springs and recoil spring. My C9 get shot a lot and it breaks the secondary firing pin spring and causes light primer strikes or no fire at all. I get new springs before i even shoot it. Because of the heavy slide these springs take a beating if used a lot
Good advice for new owners! Take advantage of that warranty!
Hi Point is a great company. With these heavy blowback pistols U must use the heaviest ammo for each caliber to minimize malfunctions.
Left the range in shame lol come on Zastava, was excited to see it in range. Hope it’s easy to fix and we see a part 2 soon!:) Great vid!
What a waste converting the TT-33 platform pistol to 9mm. They should have released it in .38 super or 9x23 Win. It's made for the 7.62x25 Tokarev originally so it can handle longer cartridges, why not use the space? THat being said. There are commercially available .38 Super barrels for the original TT-33 out there. I wonder if they would fit this thing, or if they changed the design enough in some weird way that it wouldn't work.
Oh very interesting!
