Character creation could really be more transparent. For instance, character height matters as a multiplier to movement speed. For instance, female bosmer are taller than male bosmer, so given equal stamina and armour, the females are faster.

Was there a cut when you took all the stuff from Gerdur? I have never before seen a first time player take everything so quick without any hesitation :D

You can never have too many lockpicks. Unless you have mad skills. Or you could just use one pick and reload after every failed attempt....but that gets annoying to do after awhile.

The game volume is a little low. I can hear you just fine but have to strain to hear npc dialogue. Good luck with the Guild quests. Hope your sneak skills are up to par. Although there are many ways to complete them.

Skyrim is a timeless game, been playing since launch and still am. I did a few complete playthroughs before I started modding the game, it is so cool you are experiencing it for the first time. If you ever decide to mod watch Gopher's videos, they helped me a bunch when I started out modding the game.

An alternative to waiting for an hour if you are hurt after a fight is to use your Healing spell. That way you'll train Restoration, too. Magicka regenerates a lot faster than Health.

You might want to wait until you are stronger before trying to rescue Thorald…If I remember correctly, there are like 23 thalmor at Northwatch Keep🤔😬…I usually wait until very late in my game before I attempt the rescue…..why try to steal the money back.,? Ugh…just go make more money through adventuring😋

I always kill Kematu and his buddies, usually using a poison of canis root, imp stool and mora tapinella ☺️😏…nice job taking care of those dudes , though ☺️😉🥰… I know there is a big debate over who is telling the truth, but I love Saadia…she is too hot to let die, and , after all, who would bring me my mead in the Bannered Mare? 🥰…and the reward is the same no matter who we choose, so why not save the hot babe☺️

Haha, what did you steal from the Riften guards? You might be relieved to know that the Hired Thugs encounter can only happen once in a game.

If you keep collecting the pelts from all the wolves (and most other mammals) you meet, you can make a nice Leather Armor set quite soon, I think. And every piece can be improved at least to 'Fine' using a piece of leather and the armorer's table.

House Battle-Born: Guard showed up because you were wanted from the time Birgitte Battle-Born told you to leave and you didn't get out fast enough. The trespassing left you with a 5 gold bounty. Second time you entered the house, Birgitte didn't mind having you there because it was daytime. As long as she didn't notice you pick a lock or steal something, you were fine.

You hit one of the guards accidentally. It is weird tho that they were not helping you with your attackers? Usually they are quick to jump in on things like that.

Kematu is a tough fight. Made slightly easier if you have a Companion.

Don’t feel bad…my wife always plays the same way as a sneaky archer wood elf…I have played as nine of the ten races and try to mostly only use the six skills pertinent to the race☺️

Time stamp 36:53…I hate to say this but I am pretty sure that you killed Faendal by accident, when you were swinging your sword…because followers are considered protected which means that enemies can only knock them down to their knees, and, when he had a low level of health, he accidentally got smacked by you…that is why I rarely use followers,,,tired of reloading to bring them back 🫤😑😋

I began playing Skyrim in 2016…and I am on my 45th game…I kept my game vanilla for about 31 games, then I added some mods…mostly homes for when I play on survival mode..plus I beautified my towns and cities ☺️…I only have 57 mods… thankfully they all get along very well☺️😉

Yeah...maybe do NOT attack mammoths....or Giants. It can be done but you need a location where you can shoot from and they cant reach you.

You can read some of the books. Have fun with the game. The point isn't to be s super efficient game god who blows through everything with out actually taking the time to absorb what the world has to offer, but to explore and have fun.

I give all my staffs to my followers. I love seeing Lydia charge into battle with a staff in each hand unleashing hell on our enemies.

The guards response in the prison about the key is the same., They just like messing with prisoners.

Skyrim only autosaves when you change game cells and (depending on options set), when you fast travel and when you wait/sleep. You can also set it to do extra autosaves every X minute.

Lesson learned: you'll have to redo long dialogues if you take forever to answer. There are also a few situations in the game where taking too long doesn't let you redo the dialogue - it will be counted as one of the options. And in some cases (mostly random encounters), you simply can't enter dialogue again.

If you sneak: once you are detected and engaged in melee combat, stand up (exit sneak mode). You'll be faster and fight better.

In my first playthrough, I think I had four followers killed in total. Faendal, Lydia, Jenassa and Belrand. Of those, Jenassa was with me at least three times as long as the others combined. She was great.

Yes, you can improve all basic (unenchanted) weapons and armor at least to Fine, no matter your Smithing skill and perks. If you activate a Grindstone or Armorer's Table, the menu will tell you what material you need to improve the item. The basic gear usually requires Leather or an Iron/Steel Ingot.

7:30 Quest marker points to the door that leads directly to Dragonsreach Dungeon (without the need to go through the Main Hall). You get to it by going around Dragonsreach to the right. (EDIT: You saw the path when you exited the dungeon.) Confusing quest markers inside cities can often be better understood if you bring up the local map.

the fact that magic is right there at your finger tips is funny while you struggle with healing. you don't need anyone to teach you, simply select a magic skill and go learn yourself, explor you options

First version of Skyrim was released 2011-11-11. I found it during the last days of 2017. Been playing on and off ever since.

You have mastered the basic controls well enough (even if it took you a while to find the magic). Note that there are quick keys (find them under settings) to directly open the Inventory, Map, Magic and Skills menus without the need for the extra step of pressing Tab and then select. (Mine are the keys I, M, P and U, respectively - but I don't remember if they are the default or if I changed them.) I have also not seen you do a shield bash yet. It costs stamina but it's a useful move to stagger a melee opponent. While you keep holding the block button, hit the attack button. If I should recommend one mod, it would be the one called 'A Quality World Map'. For one thing, it lets you see all the roads much easier, including small dirt roads.

This series has been enjoyable so far. Very genuine reactions. I appreciate any first-timer willing to share their experience. While I prefer watching players who don't stream (because they are fully focused on the game), you seem to be able to strike a decent balance and not have more than half the time being chat interaction. (Editing probably helps, too.) You said it (and I saw a Short showing it): you are WAY further ahead in the game that's what shown here, so I find it hard to give any advice because it will likely end up looking stupid. I could maybe be of more use during the end of the playthrough, if you are looking out for more things to do.

Sibbi probably had a nice cell because he is connected with the local crime family.

Your companion CAN carry an infinite amount....IF you ask them the right way. It is probably a cheat but here goes...Drop the items on the ground, click on the companion and click on the "ask them to do something" option, then click on the dropped items. They will then pick them up.

Each their own preferences and play style but you can be a Wood Elf without being a Stealth Character. But Wood Elf is the 2nd best playable race after Argonion:) A bit of Lore about Skyrim/Elder Scrolls Universe, the "White-Gold Concordant" wasn't truly necessary. Game development/mechanic wise it is necessary. But in game lore, The Redguards of Hammerfell (a different region of the world) they were part of the Empire. Basically after the Empire signed that treaty with the Thalmor that the Redguards had no choice in. The Redguards personally kept fighting for many years after and essentially defeated the Thalmor in their region of the world. So technically the Empire with it's vast other resources could have kept fighting without surrendering and possibly have done the same. But the Emperor was a weak coward who didn't keep fighting. That ,"White Gold Concordant" basically destroyed the Empire! 27:04 THE STORMCLOAKS ARE THE BEST! THE EMPIRE/IMPERIALS SUBMITTED TO THE REAL RACISTS THE THALMOR! The Thalmor want to destroy the entire mortal/material world and they slaughter innocents who aren't considered good/pure enough for their Race. They also want to eliminate and/or enslave all None-Elven Races. So the Empire/Imperials submitting to them is really evil! 37:04

You have just met 1 of the worst characters in the game 16:43 As for the Sven, Faendal, Camilla Love Triangle. There are a few alternate ways to deal with it. 1: Don't interact with Sven or Faendal at all. 2: Marry Camilla yourself and cause Faendal to have a lethal "accident". 3: Do the Letters Route although neither Sven or Faendal are actually worthy of love. 4: (My personal favorite) Is have Sven & Faendal suffer lethal "accidents" with Archery or Magic or Poisons. Also I don't know if you found this out there are a couple of hidden chests you can loot for large amounts of wealth. 1 in Dawnstar outside Iron Breaker Mine and 1 outside Markarth near Salvius' Farm and the river by the bridge below a Tree.

1:05:10 my least favorite part of Bethesda games is that I can only take 1 humanoid follower, it’s always driven me crazy.
