You did not show how to remove a tire off the rim, or how to break the bead of the tire. The tire changer is a great tool . I have one ,but only use it on old or steel rims . Wont use on todays rims ,because it will scratch the rim.
Wow..Your work ethic is great..but your numbers are way off..how would you save $10000 if it only cost $3600 for a concrete truck? The stone price stays the same with or without a concrete truck or bags. This is your slab at 45x26 at 5.1 inches. 5.1 inches is found with simple math using those dimensions and saying you used approximately 830 bags of 80 lb concrete. A concrete truck is $180 per yard of concrete with real Portland cement. I’m even adding two yards, 20 total. That total price is $3600. This would cover more than your above dimensions. A bag of 80 lb sak Crete is $7.16 each. That total is $5,942.80 without tax added. I understand labor cost, but you had to pick up all those bags or have them delivered (cost). The amount of time that took compared to one day, two concrete trucks and 3-4 guys doing that job while you could have been working (which you clearly are a hard worker) and actually making money trading the countless hours you put in; its literally a no brainer. You lost a lot of money..and def didn’t save $10000..ridiculous
Thanks but you’re not using the correct numbers. When I did this 80 lb bags were 3.20 each. Truck was 200-220 with a 4-6 week wait. The lowest quote we received from contractors was 14k ranging to 20k. I have 3800 dollars in everything. I said doing it myself saved 10k I actually saved more than that if I didn’t compare the lowest bidder. Hyperinflation has happened in the past few years I’m sure you’ve seen it on more than just concrete.
balance her baby! :)
15yds of concrete max 3k 890 bags at $5 4450 Days days of labor vs 1 day. You and 3 helpers@ 300 each have done in 1 day. There is no way you save even 1000 dollars mixing it yourself
But to be clear, it is not a battery powered pump... it is a battery powerd SIPHON.
It does actually pump though. Just not as well as it does once the siphon has started haha
I would not do this. It could be a huge waste of time and money. I may be bias, I was a ready mix concrete producer. Dad was a concrete producer. Grandpa was a concrete producer. If I needed to pour a pad, I would just grab a truck, head to the plant and load up a batch. I always poured 4000# with air and a low slump, usually 3" slump. If curb and gutter, 2" slump.
You guys probably do it right then. Heck I’d do that too if I was mixing it. Around here things don’t get added that are asked and things aren’t mixed exactly the way you ask. I know contractors in my area and it’s a huge problem because you don’t know until it starts coming out. At the time I did this bags were cheaper so I went that route because at least I know what I’m getting.
$4,044.00 for 889 sixty pound bags of Sakrete in Spokane Washington. How many bags can you mix per day in a tiny mixer? Fifteen yards delivered in two trucks seven and a half yards trucks each back to back at $240.00 a yard is $3,600.00 how did you save $10,000.00?
When I did this (just before hyperinflation luckily) 80 lb bags were 3.20 and truck was 200-225 with a 4-6 week wait. I said doing it myself saved the bulk of the money. The lowest quote we received was 14k ranging to 20k. I have 3800 in everything doing it myself.
Hats off to you, sir for tackling a project this size. Most would be intimidated by the scope of it or would be scared of the risk of trying something new and screwing it up. My question is, how did you get your elevation right, and make sure your forms were level? Also, on the next shop build, are you planning on getting plumbing, electrical, etc. in the slab before you pour?
Thank you! Mostly to get everything square and level I used masonry line on stakes with line levels. Unfortunately we’ve decided to hold off on any building right now because of the insane price of things so I never got around to planning the next slab. What use to cost 20 to 30 thousand is now over 80. By the time you add inspections and all of the rules and regulations we now have it’s close to 100 so we decided to keep everything the way it is for now.
How do you balance the tire?
In the video I was mounting a trailer tire, which usually aren't balanced. For vehicle tires I use a bubble wheel balancer. That's a great idea for another video.
Will look forward to it. Thanks

I think you are correct. Most of the guys saying that either work for a concrete contractor or are one after speaking with them in comments. They also don’t tell you they get discounts on the stuff that people like you and I don’t get. I always have to explain to them I know how to do basic math and doing it myself was cheaper haha
In our country it's less expensive to get a concrete truck then to donit yourself, at least for job that need more then 1m3 of it
Since hyperinflation has happened it’s probably that way here now. When I did this 80 lb bags were 3.20 each and truck was 200-225 with a 4-6 week wait.
So you have a link for the shelves you bought? Are the surfaces metal or wood?
The shelves that I purchased say that they're no longer available. But these look very similar to the ones I have. amzn.to/3Og4NvW If you have a samsclub in your area they randomly have shelves close to these in stock but its hit or miss if its actually there. edit: the frame is steel and the shelves seem to be mdf but coated with a hard durable (so far) plastic.
Thank you for mixing it! People are "dry pouring" concrete these days 🤢
Yeah I’m not so sure about dry pouring. I’ve watched a lot of research videos about this and dry pour is a lot weaker than mixing. Heck bagged concrete is stronger in general than truck unless you request the higher strength stuff.
@reallifetested2605 there's no way dry pouring it is any good. I would say a patio in Florida might be OK to dry pour if it's small enough otherwise not mixing is killing the job
Damn son, you got those reps in for sure! 💪 Amazing job!
Thanks brother I appreciate it!
You did amazing is it reinforced?
Thank you! Nah in my area we have good soil, it rarely gets below freezing and no natural disasters so rebar is rarely used around here.
@reallifetested2605 makes sense, we used chicken wire but it's always humid and rainy in Mississippi. Was deep on one end and maybe 7 inches on the shallow end so we used some reinforcemen just incase.
Dude i remember when i was 16 me and my dad used an old concrete mixer my pawpaw left to my dad. We worked from after achool till 3 in the morning pouring a concrete porch 20'×25'. We were sore for a week and im a ol corn bread and beans lean and mean 😂
We reinforced with wire steel fencing
I bet you were exhausted going for that long. I bet it turned out great and that’s an awesome memory to look back on. You and I both brother corn bread and beans will take you a long way.
@reallifetested2605 amen to that and yeah it was long and tedious but still looks great almost 20 years later
BRO!! You saved money! actually got me thinkin bout doin' mine this way...34x56/6in deep Thanx for the vid dude!!
You’re very welcome! Yeah I don’t know why i keep getting so many comments on I didn’t save money lol my parents just got a quote for a driveway addition and prices ranged from 6-8000 and I checked and we can do it for a little less than 1800 so we’re going that route haha
Thanks for the update to the first video. It answered a lot of my questions. Much respect to all your hard work and it looks great.
You’re very welcome, I appreciate you taking the time to comment and for checking out my video.
I have a lot of questions. I didn't see any rebar or steel mesh. Should there be some? Is the plastic suppose to be there? We had a patio poured and he used rebar and mesh, no plastic and put in relief (?) cuts in case of cracking. I asked because I am going to fix a 10x10 section of garage floor that is broken up from clay soil expansion and contraction. No rebar or mesh when it was poured 100 years ago.
I saw your comment on my other video and am glad this covered your questions!
I don't know the prices ehere you are but bagged concrete is about the same cost as a truck here in Hawaii.
From talking to people on here prices of concrete and bags are all over the place depending on location.
@@reallifetested2605 the shipping to Hawaii doubles the price here. Concrete is heavy!
Hey did you drive back and forth to the hardware store to get the concrete to your house? Or did you have them deliver the bags in bulk as you neeeded them? I am going to be doing a 30x30 pad someday soon and am trying to save costs aswell
I have a large flatbed trailer and Superduty that I went and picked them up in. I made it in 3 trips at around 22000 lbs per load haha
Where’s the rebar?🤔
In my area it’s rarely used in residential. We have good soil, never gets below freezing for any length of time, and no natural disasters.
You should talk much faster
My brain can’t handle that.
Roto zip or Klein tool takes less than 30 seconds! And not over priced !
They must be lower priced now. Back when I did this the Klein was over 40 dollars and was really the only option.
Awesome! I did a bag pour in a 12x20 shed...did not look as nice as yours. But you're inspiring me to do another at my new place for a shop. I watched your video of pouring it and had a question. Those forms that went across the slab that divided it up into doable portions; did you pull those forms out after each pour set? You mentioned that crack early in this video was where the forms were (past tense), so I was curious if you pulled the forms.
That’s awesome. I bet it turned out great. Yes I did remove the forms in the center. What I did was pour my outer slabs first, then remove the center forms and used the outer slabs as forms for the center (hope that makes sense) good luck with your project!
Not to be disrespectful but that looks awful. Using MC it takes some time to look neat but you gotta try.
I’ve seen better, I’ve seen worse haha appreciate the feedback though.
I got a very similar one off of Amazon. I got it because it came with a "gas pump" style handle on the end of the hose that lets me regulate the flow. I bought it specifically to remove old fuel every year from all my yard equipment. At first I was really disappointed because the end of the pump is too big to fit in most of the filler necks. But then I realized it was just as useful for adding the fresh fuel back in. It reached right down to the bottom of a 5 gallon can and lets me refill my generators, mowers and everything else without having to lift a heavy can. I've probably pumped about 40 gallons through it and it's still on the original batteries. Also made in Korea which is a big plus over China.
That one sounds like it’s a lot more user friendly than the one I have. I like that it can reach the bottom of a 5 gallon container, that’s handy. Thanks for sharing I’ll have to check it out!
No rebar?
I poured a patio using 60 80# bags and could barely move the next day. Don’t know how you accomplished this lol
Mental is what was hard for me. Mix, pour, repeat, then knowing I had to go to work when I got finished ( I was working nights at the time) and deal with all those bags haha
next time drive the mixer on wheels around
I made another video about some repairs on this mixer. The wheels are horrible, and the frame is weak. If I had done this the frame would’ve came apart. 🙃
15 yards of concrete from a truck is under 2k
It was that price here in the early 2000s now it’s over 200 per yard
This just doesn't make sense. Call the concrete company and have it delivered.
It made sense at the time. 🙃
Is it for a diesel car?
It should work on any 12v battery for vehicles. It just places a load to see if your battery is capable of dishing out the power needed while maintaining a proper voltage.
Ok by me!….good job
Thank you!
Overachiever!!! 😂 Great job!
Thank you! 😊
I had a 25x50 poured professionally for $13k in 2022
I was quoted 14k and up for this pad. I have 3800 dollars total in concrete and over 100 ton of gravel for this slab.
Personally I’d have put my light switch where you put your welder outlet…
Idk if it’s because I’m left handed, but I do a lot of things backwards from what a normal person would do haha
So how many mixes do you do?
830 bags 2 bags per mix so 415 total
Why are there Demon Rat commercials on your video? That SUCKS!
What!? I wonder why they’re doing that? Unfortunately I don’t have control of any of the ads that’s a TH-cam thing.
@@reallifetested2605 Good video by the way, I was wondering because I may have missed it. You psi on bag choice and cost per bag?
@@TexasBig it’s 4,000 psi and was 3.20 per bag. 80 lbs.
@@reallifetested2605Thanks!
No reinforcing. Hope it does not crack too much. Hope you don't get freeze/thaw cycles.
It’s rarely used around here. Usually they don’t even use gravel just straight pour on the clay. We have mild winters, no natural disasters, and good soil.
No expansion joints?
I did cut them just didn’t show in the video because all you could see was a dust storm.
Concert is 110-160.00 a yard here in SoCal, delivered..I don’t know where yr at where you saved 10k at by doing it yrself…
I haven’t seen concrete 110 dollars a yard here in over 15 years. It was 200-220 with a 4-6 week wait when I did this. #80 bags were 3.20 each. The lowest quote from a contractor was 14,000 and I have 3,800 in everything including over 100 tons of gravel.
Didn’t watch it all but wonder on the concrete reinforcement I couldn’t see…
It’s not used much in my area. Usually they don’t even do gravel just straight pour on the clay. We have mild winters, no natural disasters, and good soil.
Awesome job. I recently purchased some property that has a 30x40 pole barn with a gravel floor. I want to pour a concrete floor and I am going to use your method. Thanks for the inspiration and tips. Have you considered covering your concrete floor with a layer of decorative epoxy? That would give you a smoother finish on the floor.
Thank you! You’re very welcome. I had originally planned to epoxy the floors but once I moved everything in I thought there’s no way I’m moving this stuff back out to do the epoxy so I never got to it haha good luck with your project, it’s going to turn out great.
Why no wire mesh or rebar in this slab?
Grease will most likely prevent this so grease your equipment folks 😮😮😮
On this particular caster it’s just a poor design. I’m guessing they’re not rated to the weight/wear on the machine. These get greased at the start of every day they’re used and they’ve went bad religiously between 3-400 hours on both mowers I own. One mower is at 2300 and the other is at 1700 and the bearings have went bad in that time frame on both mowers.
bagged concrete is always the most expensive way of getting concrete in my area, how did you save so much? or did you mean vs hiring someone?
In my area at the time trucks were 200-220 per yard depending on the day and 80 lb bags were 3.20 each so bagged was a good bit cheaper per yard. Local contractors wanted 14k+ to do this job. I have 3800 in everything including gravel. So bagged and doing it myself saved money.
830 bags wow
Yep!
@@reallifetested2605 hell yeah 😎
