Cherry Master - 8 Liner PCB Battery replacement and final testing.
The old CMOS battery was leaking and was not holding 3.6V, so replaced it with a CR2032 coin cell battery. If you replace a rechargeable battery with a coin cell, be sure to add an isolation diode; thus a 1N4148 small signal diode; does not need to be a power diode.

Finally able to return to fixing the Atari Soccer PCB. Had motion object problems; was missing the black color. Initially thought the problem was bad character PROMs, so replaced them with EPROMs. That did not fix the problem, so had to scope out the PCB to find the logic chip that was the issue.
Using a Toyota Tacoma Evap canister in a Rav 4

Thought I was going to be clever and use a cheaper charcoal canister from a Tacoma in a Rav 4. But circumstances required that I not attempt the swap; needed the car fixed ASAP so using the exact part was necessary. However, if successful, it would have saved 50% or more. Id swap the iridium plugs for the best copper plugs u can find. On my 94 chevy k1500 brand new top of the line copper spark plugs we less than $10 each (2years ago money) they truck runs great with coppers bc thats what it was designed for and ment to use. The older the car its not really worth the extra money for iridium plugs, its just my opinion but myself and my friends with older vehicles have found using the "lower end" parts (from the technological standpoint of modern cars) makes them run and work better

      To replace the TCM is not too bad of a job; you can do it yourself in an hour or less. I have a video that summarizes the steps to access it, but it does not show the steps in actuality; just a summary. The cost of the TCM is around $850 at most dealers; adding a markup will probably bring it to around $1200; the rest is labor and tax. It does sound like they are a bit high on the job IMO. studio.th-cam.com/users/video-woR8qICaMM/edit

    I know this is an old video but this same thing happened to me and I’m so glad I found ur video. Both of my connectors broke as well as the tee fitting. I found the parts list from ur updated video and purchased everything except they didn’t fit. Then once I was home I noticed the 5/8 comment that u added. But before I go exchange anything I have a question and I’m hoping you don’t mind explaining it to me. I cannot believe that it’s nowhere online. I’ve worded it several ways and cannot figure this out to ensure I’ve got it all connected properly in the right places with the right sizes. I have a 2006 3.5 liter Uplander. So it should be exactly like ur set up for the heater hose assembly. Can u explain to me the route of both the inlet and outlet hoses from where they each begin to where they meet at the assembly and where the hoses connect from there and to what exactly. The route of it all. And the sizes of the hoses are different? And one last question. The 90 degree brass fitting, does it fit inside the pipe that it’s on? Or does it sit over it? I see the clamp under it and it look like it’s clamped onto hose. I’m not understanding how it’s put together. I’m sure I’m asking very basic questions. I just don’t know more than what I’ve learned since getting this van. And I just need to get myself back on the road and I can’t afford a mechanic. I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks so much.

    • @johnhermann762
      @johnhermann762 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi. Unfortunately I no longer have the Uplander. The best way to approach this is to remove each plastic joint one at a time replacing it with a brass fitting. If you have already removed everything, then study the video for the routing. I remember having to keep a vertical piece of hose short so it doesn't interfere with the windshield wiper assembly that moves back and forth horizontally above it. Good Luck; I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Did everything to the t and ultimately it wouldn’t work. I thought maybe my switch was broken so I bypassed it and nothing. Tried walking the motor again and it didn’t budge. I got the fan for free, on the side of the road but am extremely sad since a replacement is like 30$ and up. To be fair I’m pretty handy and when it was on the side of the road someone cut the plug off. Reattached a different plug on it and have been in business since. So I was really looking forward to this being my problem. The shaft had my wife’s hairs all wrapped around it and it was seized too. But not sure why even once oiled it wouldn’t budge. Ah well, bah humbug type of moment. Never ever say that either but can’t think of any other feeling right now haha.

Have had similar issues with my mazda 5 2009 model too, and repalced the TCM and the entire valve body, but still having issues on delay reverse and incorect gear #5 ratio(p035-ff) especialy during the day (when the weather is warm ) the vehicle kind of tends to stick at 3000rpms when at 68mph the AT light is usually on at this point( i suspect it wont go into gear #5). At night the vehicle seams okay with 3000rpms hits 85mph and no AT light. Not sure what to do, or did they put for me the wrong valve body? TCL script I wrote. It doesn't edit Pacman mazes for the arcade machines; just for my Pacman TCL scripts.

    The ATmega2560 cannot be bricked by software. If, despite all warnings, a USBASP is used and the firmware update fails, then the fuses may be set in such a way that an external clock is required and the quartz is no longer used. In this case, an external clock must be applied and the fuses must first be correctly set again. Reversing the voltage can of course damage the chip, but the ATmega2560 is very robust and so far neither reversed polarity nor other nasty things have been able to damage it (at least in the short term). In the manual there is a section that describes an easy way to recover the ATmega2560 in case the fuses have been reset.

      Thank you; I have the Pol... programmer on order. I'm hoping the fuses are still correct as the external clock instructions are not clear to me.

      @@johnhermann762 When you can still read the fuses you can check if the setting is fine. When you get an "communication error", sorry, you have to deal with the external clock.
