Egyptian Geese Big Fight

This video starts out quiet, and then slowly, you can feel the tension building. It ends up with a knock-down drag-out fight between a couple of Egyptian Geese, with their friends cheering them on like school kids or people watching a boxing match! This is probably the funniest video I've captured and clear, good quality video as I was close up to them. They're fairly tame and unafraid of people. Enjoy!
NOTE: No one was seriously injured in the filming of this video. Near the end, one duck appears to disappear under water. Egyptian Geese are known for this, diving under water & swimming aways away and resurfacing else where, you can see this also in my earlier video of some peaceful Egyptian Geese. It's funny, before this past year, while I'd seen a Great Blue Heron before, I never heard of this smaller, masked-bandit version, nor did I know there were soooo many in the Central Texas area. I stumbled upon this one in a small stream. He was the most pleasant thing I encountered that day.

Muscovy duck is a fairly common domestic duck, seen often mingling with domestic Mallards. This duck with her babies was very cute. At the end, you see them swimming off into sparkles. This video shows how much darker the beak is on the adult female Cardinal than the juvenile I posted recently "Juvenile Cardinal at Fountain." The shape is more filled out, color is richer, it doesn't look as gawky as the juvenile.

Up Close- Cutest House Finch Ever

I was shopping for some flowers for the garden for the birds to enjoy. This adorable little House Finch noticed me, and came up quite close to have a conversation. His coloring was darker, almost appearing like the rarer "Purple Finch," however, I asked an expert and she told me know, you can see line pattern and his shape is a little different than a Purple. So I'll trust her.

Male Cardinal Singing His Heart Out

I was able to capture a beautiful male Cardinal, singing his heart out. He was high up, but it looks so cute to see his large-Cardinal beak opened in song! This video is fun because you can also hear the Painted Buntings singing in between his song. I will upload another video of one of them that I captured.

Ok, deer are rather a nuisance in Texas, eating up every gardener's favorite trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and difficult to keep out of your yard if you live in their territory (which fortunately, I do not.) Juvenile Cardinal at Fountain

I was surprised seeing this bird, the beak being lighter colored than a cardinals typically is, and with it's large dark eyes it almost looks like a titmouse. However, when it jumped up onto the fountain I was able to get a clearer view and became sure it was a Cardinal. A friend who's an expert told me it is a Juvenile Cardinal. It's cute, and not too shy, ok with hanging around when I'm outside.
