@@danieldunlap4077 I agree that the Typhoon phaser arrays do seem weak for a "battleship". Just playing the game the phaser arrays on the Eclipse, Excelsior II are much stronger. But the Quantum launchers are much faster to reload and fire though.

Federation phasers start improving by the time the enterprise G came out. The koyoto has a interesting high powered plasma based phaser as well.

They are great, the mods I've used so far seem to be well balanced, albeit if they're all hot rods 😅

I haven't managed to get MVAM for Remastered to work yet on my system, but i'm working on it.

@TrekBattles In german it is "Multi Vektor Angriffsmodus" and "Medizinisch holografisches Notfallprogramm" quite funny that it stays MVAM but the EMH becomes the MHN.

@@TrekBattles Big guns are big guns. No matter which century they're from. And really, how much can you actually improve a phaser array or a photon torpedo? Refine it maybe, make it more efficient with less power usage, maybe longer ranged and more accurate, but dump enough energy through the 23rd century-era phasers and they'll make a mess. And I'm guessing the Yamato with it's twin hulls (and presumably 2 warp cores), has plenty of power to spare. Very inefficient compared to 24th century era designs, but... destructive. And with photons it's even less clear-cut. It's a matter-antimatter warhead. You can up the yield, put more matter and antimatter in it, but can you actually IMPROVE it that much? My guess is until Quantum torpedoes came around, Starfleet was basically refining 150 years old photon torpedo technology, incrementally.

I was surprised it beat the Ambassador class, and gave the galaxy a decent fight. I have found a new respect for the Yamato

I actually expected the Ambassador to take it. I never expected it would face the Galaxy or even put up a fight against it.

@@TrekBattles Yes I was surprised by the HUGE power-gap between the Ambassador and Galaxy. I'd say bigger then the one between the TMP Connie and Ambassador. Then again the Ambassador never had to face anything tougher then Cardassian galors during the Border Wars, so... it's a product of it's time I guess. An exploration ship with a couple weapons bolted on it. Meanwhile the Yamato is a front-line dreadnought, from a time where the Federation was squaring-off with both Klingons and Romulans in expectation of full war. It's a warship first, everything else second.

@necroticavalon5176 you're right the Ambassador was never called on to do anything more than exploration, science and policing borders. I suppose because it looks like a baby galaxy class subconsciously I put more weight on its tactical abilities.

Depends if the E has its ablative armour or not, I'd guess. Without it, the Yamato can just take out it's sensor array quickly enough to make it helpless, with a good alpha strike. With it - no chance.

That's a good idea for a match up, I'll add it to the list.

I might try taking out the impulse, or warp engines. The E really starts to struggle with manoeuvres if even an impulse engine is damaged but still operating.

@@TrekBattles I'd go for the sensor array and take out it's targeting ability. If Yamato messes around too long, the E will likely get off multiple quantum torpedo salvos. Then it's over. if the D's photons were any indication, Yamato's shields won't hold up long against late 24th century torpedoes.

Yeah there are certain times when the game engine shows it age. Sometimes the differentials in scale or speed aren't rendered the way you think they'd be.

Whilst all of these mods are fan made and don't represent canon. I can imagine that the aftermath of the Dominion war changed the balance of power, we know that the Klingons and the Federation were close. With Martok Chancellor and Romulus was destroyed, the Romulans were no longer a major power, and therefore a barrier to cloak adoption in federation starships.

Agreed, in this version of bridge commander the sovereign is very poor with manoeuvring. I’ve mentioned this before.

@jasonsemanic6338 the Sovereign used here wasn't the stock version. This is a Nemsis mod.

@@jasonsemanic6338 its not just in bridge commander, when you look at official Star Trek Motion Pictures like for example Nemesis, this ship is barely turning when compared to valdore's or even scimitar. Like all fed ships it wasnt agile (and had little impulse engines when compared to its size/mass).

The computer always sucks, and the Century Class was too fast - too much transversal for the torpedoes to track...

Yeah that's why, when I did the battle the other way around. The priority was to take out the Clandestines engines.

Yeah they don't do that in games otherwise the thing would be completely unbeatable.

The ships in this game also don't use tachyon or antiproton-sweeps to uncover cloaked ships. So it's only fair.

The Scimitar could only do that because of the biogenic treaty violating thaleron reactor producing the enormous amount of power required for the superior cloak. The Scimitar Class is basically the Scimitar without the thaleron cheat code and a normal romulan reactor, so it just has regular cloak and no planet killing radiation gun. So I guess this video would just be a Scimitar Class, and not THE chad-tier pimp Scimitar that commits war crimes just by existing.
