All Stock Hay
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 ม.ค. 2020
Welcome to my channel, my name is Clint Dahl. I farm with my stepdad, Jack, on our family farm in eastern North Dakota. We raise Angus and Hereford cattle, primarily cow calf. I grow alfalfa and grass hay and sell it in the form of small squares, round bales, and large square bales. Jack helps me with the hay and also grows wheat and soybeans. Our goal is to highlight life on our farm with the hopes of having a little fun. We hope you enjoy!

Small Square Bale Bundles
มุมมอง 2.9Kปีที่แล้ว
We use the Arcusin D14 Multipack to bundle 14 small square bales in to one large square bale. It has helped us save time and labor. This video shows us handling the bundles with ease. Use a Steffen's bale grapple, a round bale spear, a square bale spear, a loader grapple, or even pallet forks to move the bundles. The bundles weigh approximetly 900-1,000 lbs so most implements can handle. A bobc...

Excellent instruction 👍 I want to contact you to buy a round bale of horse hay...👌
Excellent instruction 💯👍
Why don't you put a heater in the pen...
Not a fan of metal feeders Just rust out. Waste of money. Go plastic and use heavy galvanized gates:panels if you can find them in reasonable distance. The arrow equip is nice stuff until it’s rusted out Just my opinion. Keep up the videos
@@Jsuds-kp3cj agreed. The rust is a downfall for sure.
Just acquired a mini American shepherd now 9wks. Black white with brown eye brows. Busy puppy.
How much is maximum humidity in good compressed bale?
I heard it’s already sprouted! 🌱😅
thanks and please do update with the results. good luck.
@@stevewinkler6721 we for sure will!
Nice seeing you guys again!
Appreciate that!!
I have Akira male blu merle 3 month old, beautifoul dog

Why the long intro 1 minute 40 seconds still no puppies!!
Quanto custa uma máquina dessa para importar para o Brasil?
700 mil
Maybe fine for some operations, but I pick up 21 bales with the bale baron. Already a giant pain dealing with thousands and thousands of bundles, why make it worse with 14 bale bundles? 7 minute abs vs 6 minute abs Something About Mary
How many acres a hour on alfalfa? must be 12 to 16 per hr? And when you cut heavier grass hay how fast you cut?
When cutting alfalfa I can avg 20 acres an hour without pushing it! I feel just because you can go fast doesn’t mean you have to. There’s a perfect speed between speed and getting a good crimp / conditioning to the hay crop. Depending on how thick the stand that is. Heavier grass I find fresh blades and 10 mph is about right.. In this cutter you can set the disc RPMs, so I like to slow that down a tish so you’re not blowing the grass over.. heavy or not!
I am enjoying your videos.
when you turn the clean up bull in that soon after the ai, how do you know if the ai settled her or the clean up bull?
Usually after 3-4 days the cows have settled and won’t come back into heat until their next cycle! But if it’s a close call and we’re thinking of keeping the heifer back we’ll blood test em’ Never to much of a worry being we cross breed anyway. But if it’s an angus on angus and they’re registrable. We can blood test. Great question!
It’s spayed. Not spaded.
Do you know anyone using this system to bale straw? Would love to buy some in 3 tie bales
Not in 3 string squares sorry! But two string we do about 2-3k a year
Very informative. Great video, commentary and editing! I enjoy this so much. (I would need a larger barn door though. )
Love your videos.
From my experience customers prefer about a 45lb bale and really if you can get the same price for both why would you make a heavier bale?
I hear it from my customers, the expense of the hay and price point is important. So I try to give them the most bang for their buck! Plus with the bundler we’re not handling them. Once they cut the bundle open and cut the bale open they’re just handling the flakes. I’ve had tremendous uptick in sales for my price point and weight. Especially when we’re shipping long distances the truckers and people paying shipping don’t wanna pay for lights loads.
Your scaring him lady made my day. Great video as always. Thanks for sharing with us.
Haha. Really appreciate you watching. Thanks.
Good luck
Nice looking cows and calves
Cute calf
Great video Clint
What Ai simmental sire are you using to get baldies
We used a bull by the name of “Cowboy Up” 529B out of select sires in 2019 to breed to Hereford cows. That’s who the father is to the big baldie cow #7 in the video. Otherwise we don’t use sim. Genetics a lot. I’m using L1 Hereford bulls on my commercial and registered angus to get the baldie calves.
Big calf for a first time heifer but she’s doing great it seems! The kind of cow you want in your herd.
Absolutely Jay! she's been a Awesome mom so far! should make a Nice size steer come fall.
Whole corn or cracked?
Been doing whole.
Nice cross calves and I love the banding early. Alabama guy
Thanks 👍
Man, I’m so glad you guys are back. Calves are looking awesome. Think you’ll keep any heifers back this year? Haha a Nebraska winter sounds cold! In the Ozarks - SW Missouri - it’s been awesome this winter. Like 3 days it got below 10 and that was it. 🎉
I’m not sure yet on retaining heifers this year! We’ve had some really nice calves and I’d like to! But I’m afraid the market is going to be to good not to sell.. I’ll keep yall posted
Good luck calving
Thank you Kevin!!
Nice looking cows and calves
Great video
Thanks!
Good man Clint 😂
If that first time heifer keeps it up, maybe retire her to the deep freeze! Haha
Keep doing what you're doing and she'll figure it out. Thank you for the video! Butch Ashland Ohio
Unfortunately she never would claim the calf and we found a new home for the calf.
She 'll click in time there s always one 😂😂
Haha I hope so no luck yet! It’ll be a week come Friday night
Love watching this and your comments. Can’t wait for the next one. 🎉

Just curious why not NORDEN 15 bale and a tie grabber
I had a KUHN AF4 when I started, which is now NORDEN. I used that for 3 years before finally upgrading. Became a lot of work picking up 4 bales then the next 4 to make an 8 pack. Then loading and storing and loading really dug into the bales. With the Arcusin D14 I went from 8-10k bales a year to 15-20k
