Thank you for the video! Looks great and it should last decades! I might just tackle this with my home 👍
You got some good friends!
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for posting. I'm curious what that tree looks like now.
12:42
One I use was built with cedar for legs has a door and all sides are open if you leave door open just got to wear two layers of cloths is all after thanksgiving here father in law built it years ago absolutely still standing replaced some boards for the stairs is all dropped many deers in that stand .
There is a lot more bang for the buck building your own that's for sure. Your price of $2,000 out of pocket did not cover real cost because of all the free things donated to your project. Scent goes up and if you are high enough up scent in a tree stand or blind means nothing. Lots of hype on scent but unless you are in the real wild with few people scent doesn't matter at all. The best thing about building your own you get it like you want it. Often times the major builders of blinds just don't build them the way you want them. Even some of the best on the market turn out to not be as good as the price tag. I have a couple of big-name brand blinds that are not as good as they claimed, and they were quite expensive.
I think you are spot on Garry! This was my friends blind but I plan to build one this coming summer. Hope you are having a great hunting season.
Nice blind guys!!!
A great looking blind. I'm trying to build a 2 story a similar size for hunting with my kids. My youngest has severe hyperactivity and so I plan to make it soundproof.
Good luck with your build!
A person must be a really terrible shot if they have to ambush a defenseless animal.
Great blind! An 8x8 with a back deck is the way to go.
80% of the deer I've shot on my Texas ranch I have had a cigarette in my mouth. Maybe ten or twenty per-cent of the deer I have killed on my property in Oklahoma I have had a cigarette the deer in Oklahoma have busted me so many times when I have done my best for scent control. So what I have learned is South Texas deer don't care, northeastern Oklahoma dear can smell for a mile LOL
Going to try tomorrow.
Sick intro song.
Would this be as good as a skid steer with Harley rake as far as leveling the yard? Looks great!
I would think a Skid Steer and Harley rake may be better but I can get the job done like this for a lot less money. I am considering a 3pt Harley rake for the tractor.
Good video, I recently added a York rake to my toolset and have field stone to remove, so just looking for a video that shows generally how to use it. Also, I really liked the first music selection for the time-lapse portion of the video. Sounded like Django Rhinehardt (acoustic jazz guitar...). Hope you and your growing family are all well these days!
Thanks for the comments. The Hydrolic top link is key to making fine adjustments to the rake's heigh. I let the 3pt all the way down and raise the teeth of the rake just slightly above the ground. This way you can gather debris and knoce down high spots. I have learned a lot since this video and I may do another video this summer to be more clear on how I use it. Stay tuned !
I can’t find the part 3 of the seeding part.
You have that property looking beautiful. I know you said you tilled about 6-7" deep. Is the tiller depth adjustable----does it go any deeper? Thanks for showing us all your work. Jesus bless.
You can adjust the side shoes from about 2” to 6”. If you need to go deeper you can go over it multiple times. I do this when I am trying to grade a area that needs more depth. I simply use the tiller and then with my bucket I remove the dirt layer by layer until I am at the desired depth. Hope that helps! Blessings and thanks for watching!
Do they have the plans they used for the deer blind. I would like to build pretty much a replica of what they have there.
excellent video!!...My kind of guys
I really don't understand the purpose for an indoor urinal. LOL how hard is it to take one step out the door and piss directly on the ground? Besides, now you have a urine coated funnel sitting inside your blind.
I don’t want to go out of the blind and be seen by the deer in the middle of a hunt. I have some water that I pour down the funnel and that keeps the smell down.
Where can I buy the muddy blind windows can I get contact information or website
Good! That buck can get bigger for me to come get it with a bow!
I chew tobacco and deer walk right up under me lol 😂
I smoke while hunting and have never been busted because of it. I always know which way the wind is blowing.
When you spend hundreds of hours in your blind you naturally think of improvments..Good video
How hard is it just open the door and piss out the back?
we have followed the “rules” of deer hunting for so long, and there just outdated and not realistic
Great job, guys! Hope y'all stay warm and safe and have some great hunting. You mentioned the windows being a tad too high. One of the TH-cam guys I've watched, Brett Moravitz, mentioned taking the wheels off the computer chairs and replacing them with big, rubber shop wheels. They are quitter and more heavy-duty.
I wish you would do tiller video on operating the up and down to not have dips in plot.also when I try use my landscape rake to rake in seed how to operate wen land not even
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to do a video like that the next time I have a tiller job. I try to start moving the tractor at the same time i am lowering the tiller. Also try turning your landscape around backwards to rake in the seed, That is less aggressive but get the job done. Good luck!
Yes sir, a 8x8 is awesome. I made two that size with 84” high ceilings so a hunter can stand and draw if they want. All the windows are 12” x 30” mounted vertical and swing open. The locks are little pieces of wood that slide silently to open the window. I made them in wall sections to be lifted up on 12’ high platforms separately and aligned and bolted together. The metal roof was a little challenging but slides on and bolts down. All the joints which were less than 1/4” max were then silicone sealed. 1x1x1/4” angle and 1x 1/4” flat strap. Added a small propane heater and I’m at home hunting. I’m 72 years old and hate damn cold weather with a passion.
Sounds like you have a nice setup. Hope you have a great hunting season and stay warm! If you get a chance send a photo of your set up
Great video and what a blind, very nice, great ideas.
really glad you enjoyed the video. I hope to go back this year and hunt with Matt and Tony
8x8 with a 4 ft porch is what I use. love it
Where did you get that funnel ?
Tractor Supply I think
Nice job Allen. Thought only NE Ohio had that many rocks! 😁 Paul
What does the cutoff valve do? What do you do on the bottom end where it's buried into the ground?
I figured it would keep anything from crawling into the blind. I think I may have to drill a air hole so that it will drain better.
Great video!!!!!
my first blind was a 6x8 8 ft high. then it was a 8x8 with a small deck with better stairs and 12 ft high. the last two are 12 x12 with a 4 ft deck covered. two bunks in each. the bottom bunks fold up. heat and solar. spray foam is easy. only need about a inch thick. one blind is 10 on the side of a ridge. and the other is 16 ft high . that one has a second platform at 8ft with shooting rails solid up to 32 inches. that one is were our range is. so it's a range blind as well. food plots on each side of the range with heavy clover and grass down the shooting range.
Sounds like the ultimate set-up!
@@OutdoorswithAllen many of nap times and over nights with the fan blowing. love watching nature. turkey heaven.
Those sound incredible!
Great deer blind. Gave me some good ideas for one. Thanks for Sharing with us
Glad you found it useful! best of luck to you on your build. Be sure to come back and share a photo.
Great video! What is the Minimum depth that the tiller can operate
I believe about two inches
@@OutdoorswithAllen great, thank you
Do you have any tips for storing it on the metal stand?
No, I just use the kick stand and store it on the ground. I think that is a good idea, just haven’t done it.
Great video. I have the same tiller. It works well with the iMatch Quick hitch although I did need to add bushings to make it more secure on the pins. I would like to store it on the metal frame/pallet that they shipped it on however I don't seem to be able to position it well. It is very wobly
Where I get the seeds from??
GCITurfAcademy. Com
What did you do with the pile of debris? Burn it?
Still in a big pile at the edge of the food plot. Left it for habitat. May burn it this winter
@@OutdoorswithAllenantastic video I’m in Virginia as well in Leesburg actually. Could you share where you got these attachments from ? What depth was this set at?
whats the best insect killer for ticks and ants in this spreader and what setting?
This is what I just put down but I don’t remember the spreader setting. It may be on the bag BioAdvance grub killer plus. I was going to post a picture of the bag but this app won’t let me.
I did not think that that brand tiller was quick hitch compatible. Did you modify yours to work with your quick hitch? I have the same brand tiller for my tractor however it is not quick hitch compatible so I can’t use my quick hitch I have thought about trying to modify it to work with it as it is very heavy any suggestions thanks for your video great job smoothing that out !
I didn’t make any mods, it just worked with my quick hitch. Not sure if I just got lucky or what. Have you tried it with yours?
@@OutdoorswithAllen yes sir, the top pin is up to high by about 5 inches
how can i get in touch with you guys to talk about the stairs building a 6 X 8 just over 12 feet high
sorry I missed this comment. if you are still interested I can pass your email to Matt who built this blind.
Awesome job bro! That grade is perfect. Can't wait to see it come up 👍
Checked it this morning and we have lift off !
th-cam.com/video/g4xEPlJ3Zfs/w-d-xo.html $50 box blind build. You won't find a better one built cheaper.
Do the wheels help?
they work the best when trying to level out loose material like top soil or gravel. I am still learning the best way to adjust the wheels in conjunction with my hydraulic top link. The hydraulic top link may be the best add on to my tractor, it really lets you make some fine adjustments from the tractor seat. Highly recommend it!
