    One crossing we stayed at Westerdale YHA and Wheeldale YHA both now private houses. We also passed to the south of Fylingdales. We finish at the Ravescar Hotel. Things have changed.

      It's a shame the hostels have been sold, but the route has also deteriorated due to no funding.

    Thanks, great memories of doing the LWW a few times in the 70's and 80's. I still have the Bill Cowley book and the coffin badges for doing it and also supporting others. The walk seems to be less popular now and more clearly marked. My first time in winter 72 felt like a navigation exercise and we got lost a few times. It's a pity politics have entered into the walk nowadays.

      The route has lost all funding so doesn't get maintained, not many people know of its existence which is a pity because its a beautiful route.

    Surprised you doubled back at Thomason Foss, if you'd have carried on above Thomason Foss you would have to come to another waterfall, Water Ark Foss. Then carrying on from there, you would have come to a footbridge across the river, cross that, follow the footpath across a field and you end up at Goathland. Still good to see another take on the walk, the path seems to have eroded quite a bit since I was last there... Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    Nice chilled video buddy, the ascent on day 2 at 2.1 miles looked like a leg burner 😮😅. Ever since I saw Alen a couple of years ago (bushman and blue) camp above gordale scar I've wanted to go there, nice spot. I do like the way you insert your walks beforehand.     Great video! Such a good tent. I have the version before this one which doesn't have the same vents and is about 200g heavier. I've had it for about eight years and it's never let me down. It is a shame about the lack of pockets and my version doesn't have a lantern loop on the inner, but otherwise it's great. especially for the longer lighter days.

    I've seen a few people camp up there but I never knew the track below was a railway track - I always thought it was a cycleway or something. It's a great looking structure to camp next to, very photogenic - loved how you caught the sunrise through the tower. Looks like the pair of you had a great camp. TFS Donna :)

      I've been going up their since I was a young Lad, it's became very popular over the years. But luckily nobody has ruined it, yet. The hole of horcum is only short distance from their aswell. Both well worth a visit.
