LOVEBITES - Rising lyrics: Failure or pride? The fear deep inside Success doesn't come with a few empty tries Fortune and fame, seem easy to claim But those who've succeeded defeated the pain Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred... You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again! DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! Too late to change? The past will remain But it's up to you to decide on a name Glory is not what miracles brought The path you have taken will lead you the way Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far Show your scars with pride and believe your history... Sometimes we can't see the light anywhere Sometimes we don't have our luck in the air Almost like we've been left by ourselves I'm alone, you're alone, somewhere in the world But open your arms, look up and you will see an endless blue sky l believe, you believe, we will live out today So it leads to tomorrow! SOLO: midori / miyako / midori / miyako / both RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, rise above your fate! LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Clockwork Immortality 12/05/2018 ------
No criticism, but this was the perfect moment to include the acoustic version from Asami's 2020 birthday as well... (and still omit the other live version(s))
There is an informal acoustic version of Rising which has a totally different energy about it. Solemn even, but beautiful. Well worth checking out. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks for more LOVEBITES. All their LIVE videos have always had the guitars panned to the channel corresponding to the side of stage where they stand, that their amps are located. These particular individual solos seem to be each continuing the other's melody-line until they come together for the 'twin solo'. This is the song that originally made my youngest daughter (34 at the time) a fan for life. A great song for a positive uplift. Try listening to any other LIVE and you will find the same 'mix'. M&M traded stage sides between Wacken/Bloodstock 2018 & January 2019. I've heard it speculated that this swap was to facilitate a Grand Piano with the top open facing the audience, although 'Daughters of the Dawn' (first LIVE video after swap) Miyako still uses an electronic keyboard. Personally I prefer the LIVE mix and minimized 'backing tracks' but I also understand the desire to 'fill out' the LIVE sound where Miyako plays only one instrument at a time, except for "Burden Of Time" where she plays two simultaneously, 'hammering' the rhythm on guitar with her left hand while joining Midori's guitar in 'twin soloing' with her right hand on keys: LIVE 2018 [cc] th-cam.com/video/nBU8zdCZTmg/w-d-xo.html That is a beautiful red guitar you have (LTD?). Thanks for showing it. 🐺 dreg👁
Haruna playing Conductor with her sticks while Miyako played piano was priceless and may have caused the change in time signature you mentioned about the same time
Since you are comfortable doing longer reactions I'd like to suggest two, (separately). 1. Two songs that have no LIVE recordings at this time but are possibly 2 of their 'most prog' "Paranoia > Dystopia Symphony" from 2021's 'Glory, Glory to the World' EP (12min) fan upload of 'mood' time-lapse visuals & [cc] lyrics: th-cam.com/video/yu0NwiC18y0/w-d-xo.html these songs are phenomenal unique compositions that need more exposure. 2. These three songs performed non-stop (near segue) in 'Heavy Metal Never Dies' show all written by founder & former leader/bassist Miho. The intent is to show their continuity in LIVE performance, something that 'one-song-at-a-time' will never show. 80min into Main Set begins "The Apocalypse > M.D.O. > Don't Bite The Dust" LIVE [cc] lyrics: th-cam.com/video/ttBL0Q744xA/w-d-xo.html Yes, you have seen/heard 2, but "M.D.O." was the new recording with Fami & "Don't Bite The Dust" was over 2 years ago. This also includes the segue from that song to "Holy War" that ends the Main hour&45min set but fades after intro to keep to 15min total. Link to full "Holy War" is in a comment. 🐺 dreg👁
I 'd add to that a version of Awakening/Hammer of Wrath with Miho and The Knockin' at Heaven's Gate with Fami on bass. Both are great versions and show clear difference from Miho/Founder and Fami new bassist.

@@evilvolts I couldn't help but immediately listen to them (again), together... Amazing song performed flawlessly. In bass what I see & hear, (notes) is Fami playing Miho composition, including 2 'features' & solo, but plays an octave on the 'features' instead of single notes. I consider "The Hammer Of Wrath" as LOVEBITES 'signature' thrash song, from the beginning. Unique. I see LOVEBITES choosing this as Fami's first ever LIVE performance as '"5 Element" as respect for Miho, including Fami honoring the composition, as they perform all their songs, note-for-note & beat-for-beat to the original arrangement in each performance, show after show & year after year. It's because what they WRITE and ARRANGE is SO GOOD that it's "worth repeating" ... every time. Reminds me that 2 of the 3 songs chosen for final auditions were Miho's songs. Miho (my view) is "Mom" who 'conceived', nurtured & led to International tours & award winning recognition, brought a third of all songs (music & lyrics), 3 albums, 4 EPs, 6 LIVE video releases, secured their support >>>>> sent her 'offspring' out into OUR world, and we are very lucky that Miho brought LOVEBITES to US. Haruna is flipping her stick for about a hundred times...
best Haruna stick flip is the live at Ride for Vengeance on Today is the Day
For me this solo is right up with Empty Daydream and Shadowmaker

Nice comparison and analysis !
actually a sad song for fami
checks body language on live version.
btw, thank you for reaction.
😊
Haruna also started the MV with the stick flip
