It's all about the ride - You are free to go!
My name is Italo and I started riding motorcycles over 15 years ago and since then I’ve been on a never ending journey of juggling life responsibilities and exploring the world with a motorcycle.
I was born in Brazil 🇧🇷❤️ having Italian family roots and currently living Europe.
Every year I plan one longer Trans Euro Trail (TET) trip and several smaller 2-3 days trips. My favourite country to ride so far is Bosnia and Herzegovina. Coincidently that’s where my wife is from 😁.
My current motorcycle is a Honda CRF300L and I truly enjoy riding this underpowered little donkey! I’m done with big, heavy and powerful motorcycle. Yes! No 1000cc+ motorcycle for me!

MOTORCYCLE FRONT WHEEL AXLE ALIGNMENT

MOTORCYCLE FRONT WHEEL AXLE ALIGNMENT
yeah, I got mine installed without the counterweight and now its so funny to drive. Will balance it on my own.
I needed to add quite a lot of wheel weights for the rear wheel. Don’t be surprised when you are doing. I’ve added about 80 grams to it.
Your videos are absolutely amazing ! Great 👍 job !
Glad you like them! Appreciate the supportive comment!
Très bonnes explications !
Amazed at the length of detail you go to give a technical and informed decision when purchasing a handlebar. Thanks much.
Thanks, man!! Appreciate the comment glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the video!
Nice video, clear instructions
Thanks, man!! Appreciate the supportive comment!
Hi Thomas! I’ll reply in English as my German is not good enough 😅. My pleasure! This was the first video of the channel and I couldn’t let the rain stop me from doing it 😂. I bought this rear shock and front spring second hand. Luckily the set up was perfect for me (spring rate). I paid 500€ for everything. The difference is substantial. I can definitely notice the suspension is much better. I just came back from motorcycle trip with a friend of mine that has the 300 Rally with the stock suspension and the difference when riding on the same terrain is noticeable. The increase in performance is more accentuated when going over large consecutive bumps and holes. The rear shock simply reacts faster, doesn’t bottom out and it does not “kick” you up. Also the higher the speeds the more you will notice the improvement. My friend with the stock rear shock could complete the trip just like a did. So, is it a noticeable upgrade? Yes. Is it mandatory? No. You can enjoy the stock rear shock to complete any trip you want. Regarding the height. I’m 1,75cm and my rear shock lowers the motorcycle by 30mm. In my opinion this is a must also for you. You have to consider that the stock rear shock is extremely soft. When you sit on your 300 Rally, your body weight will lower the motorcycle by some 50-70mm. If you install an upgraded rear shock this will not happen. So even though my rear shock is 30mm shorter, in practice it feels about the same as the stock rear shock when I sit on it. If you don’t install a lower rear shock the motorcycle will feel much taller.
Barkbusters looks kinda ugly
I don’t think they are too bad. Specially with the red protector it almost looks stock to me 😅.
Excellent video. I've just bought a 24 Rally. Thanks.
Nice one! I'm sure you will love the bike! Congrats! I definitely recommend installing handguards if you intend on taking it off-road.
Got to 2:28 in but have to leave for work. Will finish this afternoon......
Very informative Video! Thank you! Do you know the weight loading limit on the rear rack? Thanks a lot
My pleasure!! This rear rack is rated for only 4kg. Knowing what I know today I no longer recommend this rear rack. It has some design issues :/. I’m now using my own design which sits much more flush to the motorcycle.
@@RoiaMoto Thank you!!! Ride safe!!
How often do you change the oil on your bike? Cheers mate!
I ride only about 5.000 km per year, November to February covered in snow 😅, therefore I change it once per year. Regardless of the weather I would recommend changing it every 5.000 km or yearly, whatever comes first. Cheers
Thanks for the video! Seems like it's just a very expensive and big bead breaker ))
you don't need to remove seat to get to the airbox to access the air filter.
That’s possible if you permanently remove the small plastic clip that holds the side plastic cover. Or I guess you can just yank it out as well 😂. For the “instructional” video I better do it the slow and step by step way.
Hi there! I have never worn the SG12 so I can’t compare them one to one. I definitely feel some pressure on my ankle with the SG22 but it’s acceptable. Do you have the option to buy it online and return it if it does not fit you well?
Thank you very much, very well and clearly explained! But this work on a meadow? If something goes wrong, the oil ends up in the ground, which is particularly harmful! THE USED OIL MUST BE DISPOSED OF CORRECTLY! After changing the oil, I leave a paper towel under the engine overnight, so small leaks can be easily detected.
Glad the video has been useful! You’re totally right about correct disposal of the old oil. I didn’t cover that in the video but hopefully it’s taken for granted that the oil can’t be discharged on the ground.
I really enjoyed learning about your setup, and the scenery. I think I would struggle with the limited storage space this bike has. I think this video helped me understand that a KLR650 with big ass boxes is more suitable for me. Thanks again.
Glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed the video! With this set up I can manage to go camping but it’s just at the limit. If there is no camping involved then it’s very comfortable and the bags are not fully packed.
@@RoiaMoto Thanks for this additional info. I’m keeping this bike on my list for sure. Maybe I can just buy two bikes. Lol
Not keen on the parts being held on with rubber bands , how long will they last ?
Hi mate I agree with you these orings will eventually fail. So far I have had them installed for about 9 months and took them on one long off-road trip. No failures so far. As soon as them fail I’m putting zip ties.
I followed this technique on my CRF300L and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Great tutorial, never imagined a shock with external reservoir would fit in the 300L. Had mine just over a year now and thinking of replacing the shock as I weigh about 110kg and definitely hit its limits as my experience and speed has increased. What do you think about only replacing the shock? As I dont have any complaints about the forks, just dont like the really hard kick I get from the rear as it rebounds from a full compression, thanks
Thanks for the comment!! With all of my protective gear my rider weight is about 90-95kg. Depends how much I’ve been eating 😂. I just came back from a motorcycle trip with a friend of mine that has the 300 Rally with the stock rear shock and the difference is substantial. You will notice the difference the faster you go, larger bumps and holes and specially if there are consecutive holes/bumps where the rear shock has less time to re-estabilize. At 110kg you are probably losing close to 60-70% of your suspension travel just with your body weight. I think you will benefit a lot from it. With that said, my friend with the stock rear shock was able to complete the motorcycle trip just like I did. If you’ve got the extra cash to splurge I don’t think you will be disappointed. There is no problem to upgrade only the rear shock and leave the original front spring. However changing the front spring should not cost too much. Can be done with +- 100 U$. If you are already pulling the trigger on the expensive upgrade for the rear shock, might as well just add a bit more for the front spring as well.
@@RoiaMoto ah you're a featherweight then! But good to hear you think the resr alone should be ok cheers, I'll probably just do the shock to begin with as it looks a fairly easy job compared to the forks, if I feel the forks are letting me down I'll think about them later, but I then wonder if I got a stronger/stiffer spring up front if I'd start to have the same rebound problems without any changes to rebound damping, but I'll take it one step at a time I think, hopefully the shock will let me keep pace with the others through the whoops on the trails without the worry of being kicked up and off the bike by the rear!
I sent a similar comment but did not see it post. Have you ever used Birchwood Casey aluminum black on your rim scratches. Having multiple black rim off road bikes, I get a quite a few scratches from changing tires and the terrain. The product has a chemical reaction with the aluminum, permanently changing the color black, masking the scratch. The best part, it’s not paint. It could be a great product review for your channel. Keith
Hi Keith! I had never heard about this product but looks quite interesting! I specially like the fact that it’s not a paint but an actual chemical reaction!
Where did you get that trail jack 2:57
Hi Travis, You can get it from Rolling Mavericks
@@RoiaMoto thanks!! 🙏
I was looking at the Enduro version with Gore-Tex lining, do you have any feedback on them? How are they different? Would the enduro sole be better when off the motorcycle than the MX sole?
Hi mate I have never tried the enduro version so I can’t share my personal experience. A few comments I can make based on the data sheet. The sole should be better, however I haven’t found the sole of the standard SG22 to be a problem. The goretex makes it water proof but you must match it with an over the boot trousers. Don’t let water get inside by sipping in via your legs. If the Enduro version gets wet, it’s expected to take longer to try. Usually products that have a Gortex layers breath less. Expect higher temperatures inside your boot. If you ride often in a cold/wet environment, for example UK/Sweden, it might make sense. If however you ride in Australia, Im not sure it’s worth it.
Great watch as usual. Just the facts and to the point.
Thanks, Mike!

Very well demonstrated Roia and the foam filter kit a revelation. When I first built all the mods on my Rally one of the first mods was a unifilter kit made in Australia because here in New Zealand and particularly in the South Island we get lots of river crossings and heaps of dusty roads. A paper filter has no place on a bike under those conditions. The cartridge system you used is so much easier to remove and install. The question is, can the foam be removed for cleaning and if so can you purchase spare foam inserts? Would you be kind enough to tell me where the foam filter kit can be purchased. There is one aspect of the Rally I'm not happy about and that is how difficult it is to change a spark plug, especially if one is riding solo, its very difficult. I reckon a lot of your subscribers would really appreciate the correct way to go about it because its a very pertinent need to know. Thanks from NZ and happy riding.
Hello my friend! Always glad to read your comments! Makes total sense to go for a foam filter, specially in the environment you’re riding. The filter I’ve shown in the video is also available by itself without the cage. Just open it by hand and replace the filter element. You can find the product code in here. twinair.com/news/honda-crf300l-foam-air-filter?highlight=WyJjcmYzMDBsIl0= I’ll also make a video about the spark plug removal/change. It will still take a few months but it’s definitely coming. Cheers
@@RoiaMoto I appreciate your reply Roia and thank you for your efforts.🙏
Thank you for this video! Do you have a recommended stand? I built a center stand out of wood, but it is not stable enough to store the bike over winter.
Hi Chris I bought a pretty generic one. It was from a local shop here in Austria. Can’t even remember if it has a brand in it 😂. It does the job but it’s not fancy at all. 4 wheels and can be lites by turning a detachable handle.
@@RoiaMoto haha sounds good, I’ll look around!
Very good video, thanks for that! Really enjoyed the way you present info and as a fresh CRF300l owner I really appreciate all the details included. Would you mind sharing the list of tools you carry in the toolbox with yourself for this bike? Thanks

Hello my friend i'm from canary island Spain can you pass the link to bye the filter excelent vídeos as always
Hello there, Robin!! Hope you are enjoying the summer 😎! Probably best to just check on Google with the product code and see where you find the cheapest option including delivery. Great Video! Your process also worked on my CRF450RL. In my case the bike easily teetered on the stand resting on the front wheel so rather than raise the rear wheel up to slip in the axle I could simply lower the rear of bike keeping the wheel aligned and slide in the axel.
Thanks! Glad to hear the video was useful! The way you’ve done it’s even better! It makes it easier to reinstall the wheel back on. Cheers
Can i use it in Himalayan 411 2022 model?
Rim locks can be used with any tubed tire.
Are rhe bark busters on your other video going to work with a stack bar then?
For the stock handlebar use the model specific version from Barkbustets. For Pro Taper CR high use the universal mounting kit.
@RoiaMoto I did use the ones you set a link for in the handguard video you posted and worked amazing thank you for the help and all your videos
Best demo of the Rabaconda!
that was an excellent video, thanks. How hard is it to do cruiser tires? That's what I need it for.
Hi mate I’ve never changed a cruiser tire. I imagine it should be harder but still doable and much easier if compared without the Rabaconda
I did lots of scratches waiting for these to become available :D :D Could you please tell me where the bike is from. EU market? Other covers existed before, but I believe they were not compatible with EU bikes. Hope they are compatible with AXP bashplate.
Hi mate. Yes, my bike is EU market. Bought it in Austria.
Your videos are excellent! Appreciate you taking the time to teach and post these on TH-cam.
My pleasure! Thanks for the comment!
Love the bash plate concept
I had to use a hammer and a screw-driver. Not one video, not one forum comment, no advice was helpful. It's not a fun or easy process. It will not be easy for anyone.
Hey mate Have you tried the way I showed him In the video? It should work every time 😎
Nice! What happende to your 300L? Did you sell it?
The 300L still here. The 300 Rally is from a friend of mine. I just took the chance to make some videos with his motorycle ;).
Glad u did . The rally is good for long travel.@RoiaMoto
You don't need to expose the hole in the bar, all you need to do is put the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver between the tang and the end of the bar, push down and twist, and the clip comes out - the hole is there for the nub to click into, but you don't have to push the nub, just twist the tang at the end of the bar. Takes a few seconds.
Hi mate, I haven’t done like that yet. I’m having trouble to see how you can twist, and push 2 opposite nubs on opposite sides at the same time with a screw driver. Have you done it like that yet?
@@RoiaMoto I've done it any number of times like that (on Hondas with this style of bar-end weight) - you just put the tip of flat-blade screw driver between the tang and the bar end, push and twist and the nub pops out of the hole in the bar... [the top] one is usually enough to free the spring clip, but if you can't then pull the weight assembly out, then do it again on the lower/opposite tang so that both nubs are free.
Thanks!! Ill try that next time!
Why would you remove the bar-end weights?
Install handguards.
To install hand-guards.
If you remove the end weights. And ride long distance . If you fit barkbusters the accessory end weight you can buy removes the vibration. The vibration@@RoiaMotois not bad but builds If u ride 300 k or so in one go.
I pull it out only by force 😂 very easy and simple
That also does it 😂. If you won’t need the metal “holder” again just pull it off.
Excellent video! Do you change the front tire on that bike with it?
Hi Jeff, yes. Possible to change the rear and front tires with it. I just don't recommend the street bike tire changer if you have rim locks installed. With rim locks then you need the dual sport tire changer. I have a video here on the channel comparing both versions. cheers
I don’t buy the story of running hotter. Love to see the science and data on that one. Heat use story lots
Hi mate. Indeed I don’t have a back to back testing about how much extra heat will end up your tires with the thicker tube. The logic for me makes sense. The more mass there is, the more mass is available to hold heat. But I can’t tell you if under the same conditions this would mean a 1 degree or 10 degrees in temperature difference.
I think it's worth mentioning that this amount of slack is only valid if you have standard gearing. I've got 45 teeth in the back + YSS shock and slack of 5,5cm on the side stand equals to no slack at all when bike is on its wheels. In that case, to set the slack properly check the Adam Riemans video about it.
Good point!
Most excellent video. My tip is that if you are lifting the back wheel, turn the handlebars to the left and use something to close the front brake. This could be a zip tie, but I keep one velcro strap tied on the fork tube for this purpose. The tire spoons with the box end wrench side are such great tools for traveling. Great job!
Thanks, Alfonso!! Great tip for lifting the back wheel! I think we do it the same way. I showed it in here. HOW TO USE A MOTORCYCLE TRAIL JACK th-cam.com/video/XccC81CWsuQ/w-d-xo.html
