Hey, so, this video single-handedly reset my understanding of about half the classes. Thank you. I have about 100 hours in FF14 now... started the game. Were they purchased level up barbarian and used it to immediately unlock all of my classes. Which was a mistake. Up until now I have kinda understood monk, white mage, and red mage. But trying to level up ALL 21 (23 now) classes as I progress the story, while also adjusting my HUD and hockey as I learn the game, and make sure the role actions are on the same hockey across classes for muscle memory, and... you get the point. It's been miserable. I didn't even put together how important RDM's instep/outstanding was until you told me point blank. In 20 minutes I am now excited to play the game again. I look forward to a Dawntrail update, if and when you do one!

Mass Effect 1's title screen theme gives me goosebumps every time. It's such a simple theme, so peaceful, and very evocative of space. One of my favorite video game themes of all time.

ME1 is my favorite of the series. I do prefer ME3's combat mechanics (mainly the power combos, armor and shield mechanics), but ME1 has a more unique ambiance (one that reminds me of Halo CE/2 and Stargate SG-1/Atlantis). I especially love the side quests, exploring barren planets to learn more about the Geths, the dark side of the Alliance and other. I disagree that the Mako sections in ME1 are boring and filler. They're like the vehicle sections in Halo, they serve as "palette cleanser", to add a bit of variety. I personally like them. I also disagre about ME2 being a good sequel. It is a great game, and carries a lot of qualities from ME1, bit IMO it fails in several ways. first, we lost the unique ambiance that ME1: the music is more generic and less synthy, there's no more exploration on barren planets with interesting side quests, and there's less his "mysterious dark space" feel. Side quests are boring, loosing the interesting writing that developped lore, and the majority of main quests are actually side quests that have nothing to do with fighting the main threat but instead just recruiting companions. Also, there's way too many companions in ME2, twice the amount of ME1, with way less dialogue for each of them during missions compared to ME1. I prefer ME3 over ME2. The combat is better, the ambiance of fighting a desperate war is well done, there's a lot of interaction with and between companions, the story changes a lot depending on imported choices, and the game overall feels like a good conclusion for the trilogy. It has many flaws, like a lakc of neutral dialogue, or very bad scripted sequences, and of course the not bad but not great endings, but otherwise it's good.

I used to be a monk main for my DPS, now I'm a Dragoon because there's no randomness to its combos making me have to look at my hotbars constantly to see what procked next. I used to hate Dragoon because it was slow getting the AOE abilities, I'll take slow ability gain over randomness of what my next hit is any day of the week. True Strike used to be useless, now its a necessity, they should have just removed it or have it be a base for Twin Snakes.

I kinda hate that Black Mage got fucked up, because a really big part of skill expression for me was learning about fights and using the many tools and ways I could change rotations based on the situation. Playing the EX trials of endwalker week 1 felt so fun because the whole time I was just beginning to flex my ability to do things I would have never done if not pushed to do so. Now my rotation is pretty shallow, which leaves me feeling hollow.

I love that they use color theory on this Job. Fire in Red Aero in Green Water in Blue These are the three additive colors. All of them mixed will result into... Holy in White. Blizzard in Cyan Stone in Yellow Thunder in Magenta These three are subtractive colors. All of them mixed will result to... Meteor in Black.

I played SMN at launch, and while I was gone for 7 years and it's nice that my main is "simple".... I miss them big dps numbers xD

The thing about summoners new abilties for me that was underwhelming was with getting another Bahamut to summon in. Would have rather had something else as a larger summon, or having a new set of lesser primals to summon in aside for the base three.

As someone who only dips their toes into black mage when I'm grinding levels on it or grinding lower level drops, I enjoy the changes to it. The change to ice phase means that you can always get the burst of mana without needing to either wait a step to ensure you get it before swapping to fire phase or risking missing it if you go straight into fire 3. It does technically remove options like gambling on the fire 3 or using thunder to stall for recharge while keeping that uptime but it makes the main route feel better. I also like the changes to thunder, I think leaving the original cast as an option when you don't have thundercloud would have been fine but I didn't like the randomness to Thundercload sometimes popping like 17 times during your fire rotation or popping once in a 2 minute span, and making it consistent is great. It could maybe use a few more ways to proc it or changed ways to alter it than just swapping phases but it's a nice consistency buff and makes it better scathe whenever you have it.

As a DRK enjoyer, I've just been expecting every expansion to remove parts of the job identity. Losing Dark Arts and plunge hurts, but it's been hurting the same way since Stormblood. I've grown numb to the pain of losing my loved actions. Idk how long 14 will continue receiving new expansion, but mark my words, one of these days The Blackest Night will be removed and Warrior will receive an even more powerful version of it. And when that happens, it will hurt, but it will hurt the same way yet again.

Astro getting some of the original card functions back was nice, I still would like the 3.0 system back, the random nature of the draws and the royal road skills were awesome.
