Mesmerizing, but I like the official video way better. It is sublime.
I think this is a great song choice. 'Wingspan' is indeed a terrific album closer. I still have a bit of trouble navigating her latest album, despite having about half a dozen amazing songs on it. It doesn't quite have the crazily varied, charismatic splash of 'Miss Universe' or the confident semi-adventurism of 'Painless'. Still, it’s a great album, though some mid-tempo grooves in the middle get a bit too repetitive for my tastes. But this song lifts things off again, even if it's at the very end. Sometimes, when she drops the beats completely, she's at her very best!

Also, it is true that, compared to Painless, this record seems to be something of a slow burner, but the way it grows on you, it would be no surprise if eventually it outdid everything in her back catalogue. The title "Aey Nahin" means "They haven't come as yet" as in a beloved (gender neutral). The whole song is about the excuses one makes up when one's beloved hasn't shown up as yet.

This is authentic guitar tone the likes of which I have not heard in decades. I feel flabbergasted for not knowing about this guy sooner. He's been giving me some seriously powerful flashbacks, and I'm diggin' it. There were always sub-genres in rock 'n roll that died because the people who created them died. RJ Lenderman feels like some unassuming ghost musician sent to earth to restart music that maybe never really got a fair chance to explain itself to a modern audience, let alone say goodbye.
