Down, way down in fact, south of the known world and far away from everything really, there lies a land mass. Just on a whim, a tectonic plate once broke it off and took it for a slow yet irreversible ride. Aboard that vessel made of earth and rock, a blind, disinterested stowaway continued to tamper with what life there was to be found on the newly formed continent. Evolution. Ever since the big rupture it has done what it does best. It has carried on. A couple of eons later the world got its beautiful freak.
This song probably has every entry point a beginner needs to get under the spell of playing, perhaps even writing music. Simple tension and release, an unpretentious drum beat and homespun vocals to tie everything together. No elaborate guitar work that, for all its gymnastics and ostentation, will never scratch an itch. It is also dripping with that one thing that has been the prime mover of all things rock n’ roll: irreverence. Just like the continent they come from, The Belair Lip Bombs are south of fake and humdrum.
