not a lot of coal there
Nope
Just bought a 590. Heard great things about RecTeq. Completely new to smoking. Seems like the phone app and stuff makes this as foolproof as possible. Appreciate the review!
Nice! You will love it! Thanks for taking the time to watch.

You can say it: WUSS-tah-shear.
Great review! I just ordered my first Recteq. Been wanting to make the switch from Traeger. It was fine, but really wanted something that was stainless steel and more consistent temps. BTW, I noticed a bunch of ash when you pulled the deflector plate and saw some floating up with the smoke. Any reason why you dont clean that?
Good question. I clean it about every 4th cook or so. They recommend leaving it for seasoning but I still do. Once it is cooking you never see it or have it settle on food.
I've tried to use the Air Fryers 3 times. Each time, after 30min, they're just warm enough to melt the ice but not cook. No idea what the problem is
Wow that definitely isn’t right. I’d recommend contacting them asap. Good luck and thanks for watching.
Awesome video and tutorial. SPG is the base for most rubs. Have you tried granulated garlic and onion? That is my go to seasonings for steaks and briskets. Granulated is coarse ground like the kosher salt and coarse ground black pepper and not a powder.
Thanks for the kind words. Yea granulated is all I use now.
Quit smacking your god damn food
What is MY GARLIC? Granulated Garlic, Garlic Powder, Garlic Salt, Dehydrated????
Great question. Don’t know.
Great video. Short, sweet, you cover all the highlights. Awesome! I'll check out the rest of your stuff soon. Thanks
Thanks Ken
He gives it a 'little spritz' of something from a spray bottle at 7:42....what's in that bottle?
lol can’t remember but likely 50 50 water and apple cider vinegar.
Ratio is 4:1:2 salt pepper garlic....not 4:2:1.
As you like it.
I've had my traeger for like 15 years I think. My dad bought it for my birthday. I still use it about 4 times a week. I have replaced the electronics & equipment once. Rarely gets over 400° ..I've looked at alot and like you said the ones I want are up to $3500 so I think the reqtec is what I'm getting next it's about 1200 and it's really nice
Nice. I have the 1250 now and am happy. Man they sure have a lot of choices these days. Grill on!
What about the skin?
It was delicious
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
I got the zero nine zero it only came with one blade? And two cutting plates.???
Honestly it’s been years since I’ve used mine but it has worked out great.

Ive got to cook for 50 people ive got a webber smokey mountain 22in and two 18in wsm any tips?
Just keep the temps steady around 250 to 275. Wrap ween you get good bark (usually around 165 or so) and pull when probe tender (usually around 203 but it can vary) and open foil to vent for about 60 seconds then close it back up an rest for an hour. No need to put in towel. Give yourself lots of time.
Love the easy tips. Will be trying this definitely next brisket.
This was a fun one. Thanks!
I wondered if I could do it like that I tried the pressure cooker feature on mine . Thanks for the info
You bet. Thanks for watching!
Exactly the recipe that I was looking fir except I am also going to add some Paprika great video thanks!
Exactly what I did! Thanks for watching!
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 Welcome great video!

Yea I just like to keep my tools clean. Thanks for watching!
Thank you Very good review

How big is the rubbermaid bin and where your get it
I got it at a local Ace hardware. Can’t remember the size but I think it was about 18 x 24 or so
I wonder if you threw a lodge cast iron skillet in there on high if that would sear anything want?
I’m sure it would but usually use my Blackstone for that type of sear.
Thing looks great, made in GA 🇺🇸 is awesome too. Looking at the flagship as the deck boss looks backordered/out of stock. Thanks
While it is true Rec Tec (now Rec Teq) is based in GA the manufacturing is performed via third-party Chinese manufacturers (albeit assembled in GA). You ain’t getting a USA made grill for anywhere around $1 ,0000.
hole saw on a drill u can punch a hole down low in the hopper (when empty) vacuum any shavings out get a small of stainless and rivot it on inside, if u do it right with a handle that sticks up above most the pellets just rotate it with bucket underneath & your good to go, not perfect but better than scooping for 30 mins.
Great idea. Thanks
I do mine the same way you and Malcom Reed do it, but lately I've been experimenting with only using the glaze to baste the ham. I've been experimenting with using butter or honey butter as the binder. I'm also going to experiment with regular sugar vs the turbinado. I saw Malcom Reed finish his turkey with a thicker version of the glaze, and I wanted that crusty, buttery looking finish Honey Bake has, so today I'm going to try making a final glaze with the sugar mixture and the liquid glaze heated.
That sounds delicious!
What kind of temp gauge do you have? Thanks
Sorry for the late response. I mostly use a thermapen instant read but have several wireless ones as well. Any popular brand will work but it’s very important to use one. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Do you prefer Blackstone or this one?which one is the hotter? I want do private chef, I'm still thinking take portable so is easy to bring to my car later.
So sorry for the late response. That Camp Chef is by far the best portable option. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
I know how to make basic meatloaf.....I came here to see someone "sculpt" the feet so I could get an idea how to do it. Guess I picked the wrong video
Lol that is a great point! I had never done it before and didn’t film that part. It was fairly easy to get through though and fun. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
Appreciate the breakdown, 4-2-1-1.
Yes you are making a political statement
Indeed. Thanks for noticing
Just got myself the 28" airfryer model at Walmart on Clearance for $200 Cdn. I could not pass it up. I would love the 4 burner model, but its a bit over fill for our family of 3. Its still in the box at the moment but I have been watching videos since it came home 3 days ago. Great video and making me happy to have gotten it.
You will love it!
I was looking for "Stir Fry Sausage and Veggies & Quinoa on the Blackstone" and got just a mention that it was on the menu.
You will love it!
I tried this and its great. Do you have a link where you got this recipe. Tnx😊
I don’t have the exact link but it was from this channel a few years ago. James has some awesome videos and I learned a ton from him.
Thank you for the video. Did you keep the water pan in, and if so, did you fill it with water?
Great question. Yes I do and I actually fill it with ice to help keep the temperature down.
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it.
We've used this griddler for a variety of items including steak, fish, vegetables th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMcXT6_MuT0hB3ejyGQQHaeof9bwoWPUf and mushrooms and it's been great! Gets that great smokey flavor when using high heat or sear. The grill works amazingly simple and very low smoke for what it is. Heat gets up fairly quick, especially on closed position. The griddler side is fairly simple, better for eggs and pancakes rather than any cooking. Use the flat plates with the grill side if needed.Cleanup is easy and having heat on both sides is great for cooking a large amount or panini press. This definitely gets hot though so be careful with the sides.
Indeed. Thanks for watching!
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Love these! Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Wish they made that red one still.
Me too! You can sometimes find them on Craigslist.
Hey where did you get the cover for that griddle? I can't find a 36 griddle air fryer combo cover.
I got that at Walmart back when I got the griddle and haven’t seen any since. Not sure they sell them anymore?
Gary your ways with your foods are surprisingly delicious to the eye mind and body,,,, thank you GT🫶 by thr way you have inspired me to start cooking
That’s awesome! If I can do it anyone can. Good luck and thanks for taking the time to watch!
