I have used it to weld on and as a work table for when I'm doing wood working. I clean it up and use it to sit hot pots and food on when having an outdoor event around the fire pit or cookout. It has come in handy for many task.

@ifixit172 would you trust it to use as a platform also ?

@@zabduhamel6745 I think it is as sturdy as my Aluminum step platforms that I have. Might be a big step to get up on.

Thinking about making a little different mount to get it closer to the bottom. What I have works for me but some think I would have better imagery if it was located on the bottom which is impossible with that modeltrolling motor. I will post it if I come up with a plan.

Yes you can use Boiled Linseed Oil like you find at Lowes or Home Depot on the plastic parts. I use it on wood as a finish and metal to preserve it. I have found that you will have to apply another coat after about a year depending on exposure to the sun and weather. I found another product that I used to rejuvenate the plastic shutters on my house and it has stood up the weather very well. The name of that product is Flood and I'm going to apply it to the bumper and see how it last. I can't say for certain that both are made in the same manufacturing plant but they are very similar. I looked at the Dewalt but decided for my use the Northern Tool Klutch would be better for me. I like the leg adjustments much better on the Klutch and the price was a lot better. It has served me well with no issues.

The Klutch is on sale now for $120 vs $230 for the Dewalt , according to specs the Klutcch is 42 lbs and the Dewalt is 40 lbs , easy decision here , the Klutch is on order . @@ifixit172

It's not 100% but works a lot better than the 2D that the dealership attached to the trolling motor. I working on a new design so we will see where this goes as spring arrives and I can test it on the water more. Until then it works for me.
