    When I bought my Bluetti it was the pandemic and they couldn't get parts for their usual brick (with annoying fan), so they sent me a "Fuyuang FY58807000" generic charging brick, which may be findable on Aliexpress etc. It's slower than Bluetti's one, but it's a big lump of steel and can thus heatsink itself, so is silent!

    Brilliant thanks. There's a design fault on newer ones where condensation comes down the windscreen at night if you're sleeping in the van in wet/hot weather (talking about motorhome / RV conversions here) and hits that big fuse on the side, making the lights come on randomly at night. Got to pull the fuse away from the body. Nice one Ford, very good.

    Thank you for sharing. I would highly recommend though at the fuse block keeping the colors straight. I would suggest changing the color of the wire at the MaxxAir Fan so as to keep it straight at the fuse panel. At the least, using red or black electrical tape to differentiate the wires. You might always know why you had the Red/Black reversed at the FSP, but others might come along and wouldn't. Otherwise nice setup.

    I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my 2018 Ford Mid Roof van. My van has 55K miles. The battery is showing signs of dying. I have 190 watts of solar on the roof running to 2 40 amp hour lithium ion batteries by Valence inside the van that run my ICECO fridge, the exhaust fan for my Natures Head composting toilet and 2 MaxxAir fans. I paid someone to do the wiring for my solar. The guy recommended installing an isolator to charge my solar batteries from the alternator if I was ever without enough sun to charge my lithium ion batteries. You would simply switch the isolator to on and charge your lithium ion batteries from your alternator while you were driving down the road. HERE'S THE GOOD PART. My van battery finally took a poop. I got the bright idea to switch the isolator on to see if the lithium ion batteries would start the van and it cranked right up. I didn't need anything to jump start the van. It was already on board and I didn't know it would work until I tried. I hope this helps you. It will come in very handy in a pinch. P.S. I did go and buy an Interstate non AGM battery for the van. So now I have the van battery and two lithium ion batteries in my van.

      No they don't they have a few battery setup options. Most builders say better to keep the cabin batteries separate. Dual AGM's would be enough for a cooler, fan and a some led lights.

  • @pumpwalker
    @pumpwalker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I put TWO on my '21 XLT tonite. A few things.... 1--No need to drill anything, place one of the black washers provided directly onto the the "locating pin" (as you referred to it). Doing this also means that you will have to ALSO sandwich a washer between the pedestal and the swivel at each of the 4 bolts---so that all mounting surfaces will be flush and plumb. So at least 6 washers total between the pedestal and the swivel, one at each bolt and one on the end of the "locating pin" to "countersink" it. Upon final install I actually used spacers equivalent to the thickness of 3 of the supplied washers, otherwise the swivel would hit the plastic clip that retains the trim panel that goes over the tether mount on the rear of the seat. 2-- The "locating pin" is actually the end of a rivet used to secure the power seat motion mechanism and is not used at all for any "locating" purposes. DO NOT GRIND IT OFF!!!!! 3--The seller of this product created a vid for installation of this recently, its not so great, but: th-cam.com/video/CN6h_9JxaRI/w-d-xo.html 4-- In the sellers' vid linked he shows cutting 1" off the plastic skirt on the lateral side of the seat. I took 1-1/4" and it was great. Dremel with a 561 multi-purpose cutting bit worked fantastic. 5-- 2021 model has the heated seat setting button on the dash, rather than on the side of the seat. 6-- I chose not to cut off the child seat tether. Rather I bent it down. I applied 2 adjustable wrenches to the tether and pushed both downward. One faces the windshield the other the rear door, North/South. The one facing the windshield is there to support and offset the force from the other one--so the pedestal does not get all distorted and bent outta shape. 7-- 2021 model has Electronic Parking Brake standard, so none of that messing around on the drives side swivel!!! 8--Nobody really makes mention of it, but be sure to move the forward movement stopping bolt (OEM Black Torx T-45 from the pedestal) to a suitable location on the upper plate of the swivel. I used the forward and medial most leftover slot, and added an additional washer on top and an M6 x 1.0 nylock nut and washer on the bottom. You lose about an inch of forward position movement by doing this but it will not impact anything. The OEM forward most position is absurdly close to the dash anyway! I may source some more elegant hardware and appropriate spacers and create an extended stop bolt that goes into the OEM threads in the pedestal anyway....just that kinda guy, often hate myself for it! 9--But not at all last. Thank you for making this vid Micah! I was definitely hung up on the "locating pin" thing for a minute as well!

    • @turnpike420
      @turnpike420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kevin, you mention in #8 you only lose 1” forward motion relocating the stop bolt? I’m trying to envision how that is possible? With the motor that sits between the rails of the seat 1) didn’t you need more lift between top of swivel and bottom of rails so the motor would clear the bolts around the swivel circle? 2) going so far forward to only having 1” less forward motion - wouldn’t that cause the motor between the seat rails to slice the wire bundle in half? Tnx

    • @pumpwalker
      @pumpwalker 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@turnpike420 In short: No. The lead wire was amply long and I was able to create a easy, safe, interference free route for the wires, at all seat postitions. Motor and motor carrier frame were also clear of any obstructions without any modifications. Perhaps we are misunderstanding one another? I should add that I did order the AA Swivel that is spec'd for POWER SEAT, this variation is said to be perhaps 3/4" more high than the non-power seat version. I took some measurements and believed that clearance would not be an issue even with the lower non-power AA swivel. In my '21 motor not clearing ANYTHING was not an issue, and NO I did not have to add or modify anything to achieve this. In my research and experience the only situations that might cause what you ask about is when the seat is moved to the most downward position----not fore/aft movement(#8). And I kind of remember reading that other '21 model year owners stating the same, perhaps this implies that the position of the motor and wire bundle has been redesigned? Maybe I can find pics? Or maybe just take my word for it? There were some interference issues on the Driver side, but for me that was related to the 8 giant bolts around the swivel circular plate. IIRC I had to flip bolts at 12/6 o'clock positions to clear the rail that secures the battery box lid.......or something like that.
