Awesome video-good to know I do'nt have to buy an expensive furnace.
Great job, I have 20lbs of silver which is 75% silver and 25% copper. I’m doing my research to separate them, thank you👍
Loved the intro😂😂
silvers up to 30 an ounce ya got almost 700 bucks in silver there! great job btw. thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
good vid! good humor too!
Thanks!
2:14 I was just wondering if that was rice in your hot plate when you put the Pyrex dish full of solution on it.... Thank you
It was sand to help dissipate the heat
Thank you so much... Your video is very informative and very easy to follow...
Glad I could help!
how pure is this silver ?
the orange fumes is nitrogen dioxide.. not nitric oxide
How long does the dissolving process take? Im on day 5. Am I babying it and doing it too slow?
it's a good effort to pour your own silver bars, better than I can do.
Inspired!🙏🏾❤
Where'd you get the first arrowhead?
My buddy’s uncle flint knapped it
I'm new to sandcasting. Every time I fill the mold with the delft clay and pound it down, the clay will "split" open on the mold. Usually it splits in a different part of the mold, that I'm pounding. I hammering the clay in fairly hard. Is it possible I'm doing it too hard? I just can't understand what's causing this. When I turn the mold over, the bottom of the mold is nice and smooth. Can you please tell me what could be wrong? Thank you in advance.
Try not pressing down so hard or using a larger block to press, it took me several attempts to get my first successful pour so just keep trying stuff until it works! Good luck!
don’t stop man. Hope you keep putting out content. Congrats on the family. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Cheers
Thanks! Appreciate it!
The water you used probably had it
hope you see this and have an answer to this question. did you keep track of cost to refine? not for molds and torches, those are reusable. but for the consumables. mainly the nitric acid and copper bars use
good one!
What is done with the copper solution afterwards? Is the Nitric acid/Copper Solution " More Safe" after the copper is disolved? Or will it still burn your eyes out? Thanks! Awesome video.
Freakin AWESOME!
Thanks!
Chuck in an air line to bubble the solution around lightly it speeds up the process and exposes more molucules to the copper for transfer. also chuck in a small amount of sulfamic acid to denox the solution prior to puttingin your copper, this will ensure there is no dissolving of copper prior to transfer.
gloves are optional, some gloves are a no o, hope those were not nitrile😅
Good video
Thank you!
Wow! I've tested to make some rings and pendants out of silver and ive been happpy woth the results, but this made me want to go further. You're skilled! I might try to replicat what you did to get started but I have a small emerald i found so i think ill use that. But this was awesome, you just earned a new subscriber.
When you do, shoot me a picture on instagram, I would love to see it!
@@mcartandtool6580 will do! I think I'll try to start the project this weekend if I get the blowtorch working.
Heck yeah! Good luck!
This made more sense than several 3x45 minute videos ive tried to watch, and the result was the same. I cant get 70% acid here, only 30% but will test this out on some silver and see how it goes. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help!
Merry Christmas
Whats wrong with the red fumes I wouldn't recommend breathing it it can choke u up but it's not all that bad of a smell oh and it stains your skin yellow and or purple 😂 plus 400 dollars in oxygen
Yikes, did you take a whiff?
@mcartandtool6580 the only acid solution I'm scared of is platinum recovery
Трек пианист😂
Man your inspiring chemistry is a hobby of mine as well be nice if you went into the different channels a bit more but you did a good job on this video
Hey thanks! I enjoy chemistry but I use it as a tool when I need it to complete a project. That being said it’s not too often I do it. I would like to explore the chem world more but a guy can only have so many hobbies lol.
@@mcartandtool6580 right there with you keep up the good work
I really enjoy your channel man
Thank you!
Wow thats really awesome! Good work
Thank you!
Why is silver refinery loss?
CAN YOU DO THIS WITH GOLD?
Gold is a different process with different chemicals but I have refined it.

Mi plomo se desliza del cobre y queda hueco, es eso normal?
Okay, today is Christmas, and I'd like one of those smallest silver bars. I want to use it to make a bolster for my antique Bowie(?) knife. I think the little bar would be plenty to pound flat and fashion into what I need. Maybe I can make the pins to hold the handles on with part of it too. th-cam.com/video/F-b4lRfpjhY/w-d-xo.html
Excelente trabajo..
gracias!
Well, I want to say that I’m new to all this silver refining, but I really enjoyed watching your video. It actually taught me a lot. Some of the stuff that I didn’t know about leaving the bars in overnight. It’ll help you get all the silver out a lot of the videos I watch they only leave it in for about an hour or two so I really appreciate the video. It was very helpfuland you’re a lot more decent than listen to some of these other goofy people. Let me tell you, so thank you again I hope you have a merry Christmas. Thanks again.
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it!
Actually thats not real pyrex, its a cheaper more fragile substitute, real pyrex glassware is going to be with capital letters PYREX
The incredible power of the powder 😂
I cant believe i just found your vids but im glad i did you are a gifted teacher sir and we look forward to binging on your vids and living our knapping dreams vicariously through you. I have to ask and waste your time sir but we are recovering from a total loss uninsured fire and most all materials and tools are a loss. My 14 year old girl has been knapping with me for 5 years now. Is there a classifieds type market on materials and maybe used tools? Every penny is being pinched right now but i dont want my girls interest to be lost due to me. She loves the materials and tools you use ss do i. Where can i find those and how costly are they. Weve got a few hammerstones one crappy flaker and an antique soldering iron bopper but materials and tools are lean now and for a while so any direction you can point me is soooo appreciated sir. Keep doing your thing man we love you
Thank you for the kind words! In my area I can find agate, jasper, obsidian and even common opal along roads or on public lands for free. I would recommend you look for a local rock club that can direct you where to look or at the very least point you in the right direction to purchase rocks. Heck I have seen people make beautiful points out of beer bottles. As for the tools I have made arrow heads with nothing but a random large round rock as a bopper and a chunk of scrap copper wire as a pressure flaker. The fancy tools are fun but definitely not necessary. There is always a way if your heart is in it! I wish the best for you and your daughter!
Thank you so much really enjoyed watching take care
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed my video!
Cool
Paul revere would be proud
Please explain
There's a website called vevor that i bought my electric furnace from. It cost me 250$ I think. That might be an option for your larger bars
Okay now how do I embed gemstones on it?
Look up a video on flush setting or gypsy setting.
Nice job
Thank you!
Cool
Thanks!
updates please.
Just watched again🤣
