What Is This Weird Grassy Dome in Reykjavik, Iceland? [Eng CC]

It was in 2019 the last time I visited Reykjavik, and I thought I had seen everything in that town. Soon after I returned home, I saw this weird-looking grassy dome as a Windows screensaver; and I was intrigued. So beautiful view 👍👍thumbs up Thanks for sharing ❤
The most attractive for me is the EF Series Sleeper train😅
Have you ever traveled on a sleeper train? Will you consider such a trip?
Maybe will consider it later😅
This video was absolutely mesmerising which shows why I loved it so much
Thank you for watching and for the kind words
Informative glimpse into Brussels. It has been awhile since I visited. May go check out Tin Tin at the anime character museum next time; not so much the smurfs. Have not been to Ghent, how far is the train ride there?
Thank you for watching. I guess you are not a The Smurfs fan then? Train to Ghent is roughly 40 minutes from Brussels Central.
Have you ever heard of Onuma Quasi-National Park? It's like stepping into a dream with its stunning landscapes of volcanic lakes and lush greenery! The sight of those islands dotting the water is simply surreal. What's your favorite place that feels like it's straight out of a storybook?
Onuma Quasi National Park is indeed a beautiful, relaxing and tranquil place to visit. IMHO, there are many such places scattered across Hokkaido, and my favorite is definitely Lake Toya. I have been there 4 times, and I still wanted to revisit at some point in the future. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Paul, great info
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
so many interesting museums! may go to Belgium for those Smurfs
The surrounding area, including the nearby Central Station is full of Smurf-related things like pictures, posters and paintings on the wall etc.

Very amazing review! I am devastated that Eva Air had to let go their memorable aircraft earlier this year. But still, you are one lucky person to have flown on this before it was retired
Time flies, and I can't believe it has been 6 years since I shot this video. Yeah, that A330 product was pretty nice for that era. Thanks for watching.
@@paulyiustravelogue You are welcome.

A wonderful relic of the first modern war of the twentieth century.
Visiting this museum and seeing this relic in person for the first time was a surreal experience
Well, basically, the legal office takes care of legal services needed by the crew and officers, and also gives legal advice to the captain when needed concerning matters between the command and other authorities outside the Navy. They will be involved in the legal aspects of applying the Uniform Code of Military Justice, including prosecutions, defense, and conducting court proceedings as as needed.
Any advice on how to get business class at a reasonable price? Narita looks much improved since my layover in 2017.
Assuming you do not have the necessary mileage to redeem a ticket outright, here are a couple of ideas to consider. Using a credit card that earns you points is a great way to increase your mileage. I used my points to pay for half of my fare this time. Another suggestion would be to keep your travel plan flexible. Airlines tend to charge more on certain day(s) in the week, and less on others. If you can keep your itinerary flexible, you could score a relatively cheaper fare.
Do you ever stop moaning..🙄
How much money did you spend??? that is what every one would like to know.... your video is good.
My complete itinerary includes going from London Gatwick to Narita via Dubai in Economy, and then in Business class via the same route on my return flight. The entire trip cost just under £2350 at the time.
Luxurious experience ❤ I love the Sky Lounge 🥂 & your photo 😂😂😂😂

The Grand Class facility on the Shinkansen is provided only on the Tohoku, Hokkaido, Hokuriku, and Joetsu Shinkansens. The Tokaido Shinkansen in this video (the line that runs from Tokyo to Kyoto) does not have a Grand Class car, and should only have a Green Car. There are differences in seat configuration, rows, and service between Grand Class and Green Car and Normal Car. The seats in Grand Class are 2 rows by 1 row, and the seat pitch is very spacious. Green Car has 2 rows x 2 rows of seats, and Normal Car has 3 rows x 2 rows in principle, and the seat pitch is narrower than that of Grand Class.
Thanks for pointing that out, my bad there. Thumbnail and title have been updated. Cheers.
I dont't know how I got this recommended , but its worth it. Well captured and great commentary , felt like I am travelling with you
That’s amazing and thanks for your kind words ☺️
This was really informative! I feel like I could navigate the Shinkansen without worry, which makes me want to do a video on taking the limousine bus into Seoul...it's easy if you know what to look for, not so much if you have no clue.
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you liked it ☺️
What seat
Economy. IIRC, just 2 or 3 rows behind their SAGA class in the front.
very interesting@Season
Thank you for watching ☺️
I will be flying to iceland for a lay over do you think 1hr 35 min lay over is enough for me to catch my next flight to Amsterdam 😅 itll be my first time layover in kef from denver. Wondering if itll be quick and easy or?
I think you will be alright with 1 hr 35 minutes. After all, KEF isn't exactly a huge airport. Until their expension works are done, it only take minutes to walk from one end to the other. Enjoy Amsterdam. Be sure to visit the Rijksmuseum and/or the Van Gogh Museum.
Did you rent the car with snow tire during that time?
No, just regular tires. As long as the road up to the 5th Station is open to the public, which means it is safe for regular cars with regular tires

Why were you taking a shuttle? I hope i dont get lost in my layover.
You won’t get lost, I promise. Everyone has to first wait at the gate like normal before boarding the shuttle to the plane.
@@paulyiustravelogue oh okay. It doesn't have a tunnel you walk through to the plane? In America. I don't remember using shuttles. First time traveler
@@genehutson6865 for whatever reason, they have a ton of departures between 7:30 and 10 am, but they also don't have enough gates to accommodate that (the airport is being expended). Therefore, domestic flights to Europe could be boarded via shuttles from the gate. I am certain you will be boarding from a typical gate, if your flight is heading back to the US. Cheers 👍🏻
@paulyiustravelogue awesome. I'm heading to amsterdam from there and I only have a 1 hour layover. Do I have to check in at a desk even with a carry on? Do they have to weigh those too?
@@genehutson6865 your luggage should be checked in all the way to Reykjavik from whichever city of origin. Make sure you check with the ground staff at check-in in the US
Hi!!.....Great video...I am planning to head up Mt Fuji 5th Station on the 15 or 16 of December 2023. Is it possible to drive and park up there? If driving and/or parking is not allowed and only taxi or bus is, do I need to take the bus down? Can I am assume I can walk from the 5th Station to the 6th Station and which would be the highest point I can up to in this mid December? Thank you
Typically part of the road toward the 5th station would be covered by snow by that time in December, and authority would close the road; thus driving up there impossible. That also means other means of travel such as tour bus possibly impossible also. I suggest you keep track with the updates on the road's office site here: subaruline.jp/e/index.html
I'm having the meet and greet experience next Wednesday in Auckland new Zealand can't wait just a question I thought you weren't allowed to record during sound check is this true?
A lot of us took pictures and videos. I don’t think they can stop everyone! Lol! Plus, according to a security person I had a chat with, or at least in London, that they won’t stop people from taking pictures using a D-SLR, but you can’t use it to shoot videos. Phones, on the other hand, you can use them how ever you like. Again, that was the arrangement in London, and I guess you just have to play it by ear. Cheers and enjoy the show 👍🏻
Thanks for the info can't wait to see the hydra live
This is the exact comparison we were looking for in considering upgrading our flight from economy to business class. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
The catering service was excellent, but only 1 meal for this flight was disappointing. I really want to try ANA's A380 in the future. Those A380s only fly to HNL, don't they? I wish they flew to some more destinations.
Yes, there was only 1 meal for the flight. Keep in mind, however, this leg of the flight is barely 7 hours long; and I think serving just a single meal is adequate. You can always ring for dessert. *wink wink* Their 3 A380s typically only operate on this route, but there were once occasional sightseeing flights during the pandemic when this route was temporarily suspended. All in all, thank you for watching, cheers.
I also noticed the screen saver of grassy dome as well,it's stunning 🎉
That certain screen saver has been on my mind since the day I first saw it, and something about it just intrigued me very much. I am glad I got to revisit Iceland thus a chance to see it for myself.
That grassy dome in Iceland represents so much about the country: the importance of fishing, the volcanic activity, the relationship between people and the ocean. That was art doing what art should do: mean something, not just be pretty...though it is beautiful and intriguing.
You are absolutely right with your statement on the dome and what it represents. Thank you for watching.
I spent a few days in Iceland but never actually spent much time in Reykjavik other than sleeping at my guesthouse. I guess I have something to see there next time.
Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate it. There are more than a few things to see and do in Reykjavik. You need to spend at least a full day for it the next time you return. The þúfa, however, is really out of the way in the industrial area of town, take the bus there or rent a bike if you must go see it for yourself.
Excellent narrative and coverage of sites to see in Iceland.
Thank you for your kind words 😗
I get the espresso martini every time I fly Saga Premium, I love it!
Great minds think alike, thanks for stopping by, cheers.
I enjoyed the flight! Wish I had the money for international travel right now....
I am sure you can afford it. This particular route isn't terribly expensive. The best part is, you do not to travel in the Sage class both ways.
great video thanks! I'm going in July from Paris to London using Business Premier. Arriving at the station one hour before the train leaving is too risky?
Arriving at the border control area (not just the station) an hour before your train is still ok. That said, you may not have much time to enjoy the lounge if you arrive this late.
The pancake machine is wonderful, it looks like it will make me to eat more, Thanks for sharing great experience in Iceland🎉
Thank you for watching 😁
Thats Vai's son that let you in!
That's right! Fire saves the day
Question: For check in at Gare du Nord, you have to take the elevator to the "Salon" in order to check in and clear customs? Because I will be traveling from Paris to London via Business Premier Class(Eurostar)
Yes, customs is located at the upper level. Simply take the elevator as shown in my video to the salon after you clear customs. There are signs, you shouldn’t miss it. Cheers.
Great! I will have this experience next Friday! can't wait!
You are going in for a treat, I am sure. Steve didn't bring his Hydra along last year.
