Its 2025 and I still revisit that game after almost 10 years.

An idea for the player stations (sieldings and safety. I tried to make it fair...) If you are away for a long time, you could add an afk mode, so that fuel consumption, refinery or anything what needs time can be stopped until the afk mode is disabled. Unlike apartments, it's not useful for faction stations. I mean the apartments just dissapear and only the own of it is just left. So the player stations are visible and enterable for everyone who's allowed, which would make tasking or checking up on shields and fuel easier. And for pirate outposts, it'll be usefull too. The only contra is pirates cannot attack your station while the afk mode is on during hunting, so there could be a cooldown of the afk mode. You don't have to add this, but it is just a suggestion.

Hello Keth. I know you probably get a lot of messages with game suggestions, but here's another. In terms of player stations, and you said you wanted to start small with them, maybe you could have a small docking bay where you can get out and switch ships or refit them. It could cost about 200k and have about 75k hp. It would prevent the huge battles that would lag the servers. Also maybe you could add mining modules and a dedicated slot for them on mining ships. Something could increase speed or amount of rock released. You could potentially add a subsystem called a gravitational field generator, which could drag rock to your ship like an omnidirectional tractor beam, or even a weapon module which could make tractor beams work automatically. Also I think red narcor should be just a little bit more common in wild space because it is currently REALLY expensive on the market and hard to find. If you wanted a bigger project then you could make level 2 corvettes that specialise in a certain type of weapon.

If you were interested would you ever try to remake the game on Steam like Nelson did with Unturned? The game feels so enjoyable and complete in its current state even if you might not necessarily feel this way. It would probably help with a lot of the limitations you're seeing with the Roblox engine.

nice to kno that starscape dev is still going on, even if player stations aren't next week such a tangent (at the end) but tbh, completely agree with what you say about advertising like we dump so much money into trying to get people to see more products so they buy more things but yeah its SUCH a money pit. would like to add that also, a lot of the modern privacy nightmares that exist on the internet are due to the advertising industry as well... i also like to ask the question of why as a society do we have an entire sector whose entire focus is spending so much money to find so much info about everyone, to sell said info for people to create ads once again, ty again for the update, was fun seeing you in the park again, have a nice new year :3

I was 14 grinding out this game in the summer getting prepared for high school looking up tutorials for starscape, im now out of school already and I turned 18 bro. this game has gone to shit and im checking rn it has 65 people on it. i still dont know why you got rid of that team it was actually racking up more players and gaining traction. your updates take forever and now its all your fault its completely dead

how long is long term

There are very few if any easy solutions, but many people in power may refuse to do some things that are the best option for one reason or another. Even if someone might want to do what is the best option many different things can easily get in the way of them doing that. Someone needs to just remove all the extra complexity and barriers for people to do what is best for them and others. The problem is that you effectively would have to rebuild so much of the system that it would take a while and noone has yet done it for one reason or another.

I just want like one or two player faction related things added, I don’t mind if they’re big. It’d be nice to also have a few tweaks to npc faction warfare at some point. Some ship/module/combat tweaks would be nice too.

I think this pretty much summed up the idea that most of humanity's history has simply been moving things from point A to point B

Thank you so much for creating all these games. Especially Urbis, a big part of my childhood because of you and i'm glad to see you're still active internet wise.

I mean we have people like Elon who does private space exploration and his inventions make quality of life better. And hes earnt his worth. But there are people in the world which expect talented rich people like Elon to just stop stavation. I think people just hate successful rich people and then hate on them because they don't spend all there money on housing America. Sorry, but we're a Democracy??? You wanna be communist (technically socialists) go to Russia, go to China. Oh wait, you don't want to, because you love democracy, and you just hate people that are better than you :p

Keth, hopefully soon another person will post a video getting the opinions of a lot of older players. Personally I started in 2019, when I was 12. Im now 17 still playing the game with hours that I should not have spent lol. Anyways, please remove rails and insurance. It will bring back a lot of players and is an easy fix to a complex problem.

7:30 I've developing one of these spin-offs/spiritual successors/clones for a while, and while I do hope it does well, I also could never forget what starscape - especially in the retro days - did for me and how it inspired me to do what I'm doing now. I appreciate that you've dedicated at least a part of yourself to keeping the game alive after all this time, and although I don't always agree with the direction you take the game I could never deny the impact that starscape had on myself and the platform. I guess all of this is to say, thank you. Thank you for all your contributions to the platform and for the inspiration to become a game developer.
