It’s easy! Put your camera on a tripod or hold it VERY steady and get your subject/model to stand very still. Put your camera’s shutter to 1/5 and adjust the aperture to get good exposure. Then record. People passing will be blurry! Pick busy location!

Way way faster! I can’t use a big camera any other way now.

All the footage is shot in D log then colour graded.

Definitely has its limitations but super fun to use and I really like the images from this camera.

I agree. Absolutely not a camera to vlog with.

Hey john. It has no log. I used the natural colour profile and low contrast adjustment. (Camera had standard, vivid and natural with contrast options). Then i dod a simple colour grade to my liking.

Honestly, I love the lens for travel because as you said I can get many different types of shots. I love the compressed shots of a longer focal but also love wide. But yes. Be warned. Even thought is a fairly small zoom. Its still feels massive to me these days as i crave compact setups more and more as they get better and better. Thanks for sharing your experience in Japan and thoughts. Appreciate man!

Ahah thanks man! Honestly, I know 1600 isnt high. I shoot at 800 a lot. I think i just meant if you prefer images with no noise. Because at 1600 there is, thats all lol. I love a nice wide aperture but F4 is totally fine on a FF camera. The 20 is really great for the environmental shots and zoomed in for details is perfect. I also don’t love 24 for photos either to be honest.

I agree. Definitely not the D-LUX 8. The phone is probably best. But if you really wanted a camera. The canon g7x ii is good but also look at the Sony ZV e10. Hope that helps.

Sure, you could minimize it down to just that, and if you're just shooting JPEGs then you are probably right, very similar. But the camera now uses DNG and those files and colours are much better to work with the RWL format. The camera operates much faster with a new processor and the new menu system is a big improvement. The old menu system reminds of the old terrible Sony menus. The EVF is now OLED with better magnification. The DLux 7 EVF often caused a weird rainbow effect in bright conditions. I think these under the hood changes make for a much better experience. However your DLux 7 seems to work for you and thats all that matters.

I agree the Q3 is a great camera. But the new Lumix S9 is also made in china. So is my crazy expensive M3 Max MacBook pro. And probably the device you used to type your comment. An argument could be made in the past about made in China. But not so much these days. It wasn’t addressed to my video because it’s not a problem. But the good thing is you don’t have to buy it if you feel it is and that’s totally OK also.

Hi Shubhangimore, Thanks for the comment. The sony 11 would be a great lens for everything you mentioned. Vlogging, low light and astro. On the A6700 it would be 16mm and with active stabilization it would still about 18mm. Think the Sigma 16 is too tight, But another great option for you is the Sigma 10-18 2.8 gives you wide options and then paired with your kit lens you have a big range of focal lengths. Sigma 10-18 if you want some flexibility or Sony 11 of you want more lowlight capability. Hope that helps. Cheers

At the current moment, I mainly use the pocket 3 but if you know there will be a lot of low light situations, the 11mm is miles ahead. It also has a much wider FOV. Hope that helps.

I think the low light concert shot samples are pretty useable IMO, the video also. The ones in the video are really compressed due to YT but the raw DNG's are clean enough. Clearly the Lumix is not for you and that is ok. Many other camera options to choose from to fit your needs.

Hi. The Osmo pocket 4 wont be out for a while i don’t think. Honestly, Running with the isn’t great I have found. If you want smooth funning footage the digital stabilization of the Action is much nicer. Hope that helps!

Hi Rach. If you are using the Sony A7iv, when the APSC / crop mode is activated. It simply crops in on the sensor. It doesn’t affect the 4k resolution. The camera shoots in APSC automatically when you set it to 4k 60fps. But in 4k 24fps or 30. You can toggle to be full frame or apsc mode. I have the apsc s35 shooting mode set to a custom button so I can turn it on and off whenever I need to switch . Hope that makes sense.

@@rachcastellino hI Rach. ahh yes it does! because the sensor on the A7iv is 33mp so there is enough resolution to still shoot in 4k in APSC s35 mode. But on the ZVE1, like the A7siii there is only 12mp so you are right. 4k is not possible in APSC s35 mode.
