Most of the stuff doesn't seem excessively expensive particularly when you consider the very high salaries in Switzerland. In Greece, things are cheaper, particularly the meat, but you must be much better off overall.

Information on cheap Denner supermarkets is just what I was looking for. You have delivered again. This supermarket seems reasonable apart from the meat which seems expensive in Switzerland. I must try the Valaisanne beer as you seem to know a lot about beers but did you really drink beer out of David's bath?! How does Aligro compare with Migros and Denner in terms of price?

Will, if you're staying in Lausanne, would you recommend taking a daytrip to Geneva? I was in Zurich 25 years ago and it felt very sleepy. Mind you, I'd just come from Greece so maybe that was why.

Was my job place for 18 months. Loved the pizza on Place du Molard at Molino's every Saturday, followed by a walk on rue du Rhone and around the lake and sitting on a bench for a break in the English Garden.

Do you know that the Iseltwald 5.- FR pier's entrance is to avoid overtourism. Asian tourists visit Iseltwald because the romantic Korean Netflix drama 'Crash Landing On You' was filmed there, with key scenes set on Iseltwald's picturesque pier. You should not promote too much Iseltwald if you want to become Swiss citizen at some point :)

For People in Haute-Savoie, we do not care about Evian... The only thing good there is the Jean Prouvé Buvette, masterpiece of XXth architecture or the view of Lausanne. Thonon Les Bains is far more a friendly town whereas Evian is une enclave of rich people selling our water to the world and playing golf, shame.
