- Hello and welcome to Malaysia! After an epic train journey from Bangkok (check out the video in the description), I took a 7-hour taxi ride to George Town, Penang. This city offers a relaxed vibe but be prepared for some seriously spicy food!
Join me as we explore the main tourist areas and dive into the vibrant street food scene. Cheers!
About George Town:
George Town is the colorful, multicultural capital of the Malaysian island of Penang. Once a significant trading hub along the Straits of Malacca, the city is renowned for its British colonial architecture, Chinese shophouses, and mosques. Beyond the historic old town, George Town is a modern metropolis with skyscrapers and shopping malls. Don’t miss the lush Penang Hill, which offers hiking trails and a funicular railway for stunning views of the city.

Best foodie place in Asia, to be exact! 😊
Hello, I'm in KL and the food here is amazing too... I'm loving Malaysia
I already prefer the vibe of Malaysia just from seeing the first video. Looks like a really cool place!
It’s very nice! Considering it’s an island there are so many different cultures there
It's a very friendly, chill and fun place.
Ok, when I was in Penang for a month during pandemic getting my visa done, I had essentially street /hawker stall/food center food every night. No problem. Enjoy!!!!
Hello, I agree the food was very high quality. I loved it there! Thanks
Miam miam 😋 it looks like very tasty food … the place seems to be very pleasant as well… I guess you have spent a very nice time 🎉👍
It was! A very nice island
Fantastic video, street food looks incredible, great you are meeting people, glad you are eating, it looks yummy, have a great time, love how you are so natural where ever you visit, great video, 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 👍
Hi Chris, to answer your question about the French and food, we love all kinds of food, especially in Asia (and Italy ofc), but what we find we do better is simply French food haha. Croissants, macarons, bread, whatever we do well in France, can never compare to us abroad 😊 Also, don't think the French you meet (like these 2 girls) are annoyed/rude/unhappy/whatever other negative thing, they're actually very SHY. Yep, we are not a confident people! Trust me on that 😉
Keep on travellin' ✌️
J’adore la France! I have lots of French and Swiss videos. It’s just some fun
Yes! I'm binge-watching them as we speak 😁
Enjoy yourself, the food and atmosphere look delightful!
The hotel room must have been quite nice after your long train journey...
✨🌞✨
So good! I must say the train was amazing tho! Certainly an experience i won’t forget 😂
when american meets european in Asia 😅 😊 Penang is basically known as a food paradise where you can find lots of hawker stalls and street foods and also known for the spices foods. penang is also known as a historical city (Georgetown) and listed by the UNESCO.
Haha, so true! The food was amazing there! I really loved the island chill vibe, so I’ll visit another island in Malaysia
@@travelwithwill1perhaps semporna Island in Sabah. trust me, you won’t regret 😊
Great sharing. We are planning to revisit Penang lots more ro see
Hello, I’m loving it! Where should I go?
U seems like my english teacher the way your slow talk to the pupils to understand each word he said lol😅
Ice in Malaysia is mostly manufactured and delivered to the eateries.
Ok, interesting. It’s much cleaner then Bangkok. Each day I’m loving Malaysia more and more
You so funny mike😂btwy walcome to malwysia🇲🇾😘👍
Hello, I’m loving Malaysia! People are so friendly, thanks
There's 2 kinds of Indian food in Malaysia. The one you went to is an Indian Muslim restaurant. Be sure to try the other Indian food that is served on banana leaves. It's not the same as the one you had. Also check out Malaysian Borneo if you get the chance. It's a whole other world with wildlife, jungles, rivers and beautiful islands.
Hello, thanks so much for this information. I won’t go there in this trip but I’ll do some other parts of Malaysia. I’m thinking of going to Jakarta, what do you think? Cheers
AWSOME REPORTING 👍.
TRY SOUTH INDIAN FOODS (TAMIL FOODS/TAMIL NADU INDIA/ SRILANKA TAMIL); IDLY, DOSA, KOTTHU PAROTTA/ROTI & THE DESERTS.
Hello, the food was AMAZING! I loved it. Thanks for the comment, I hope you enjoy the Switzerland videos coming soon 👍
Here if eateries are dirty, they will seal the restaurant or stall for 14 days straight . No business for 14 days.
Ok, interesting fact. I thought it was very clean
Hope you enjoyed penang. The food capital of malaysia
I did! You can see me eating in my new video, haha
If you missed your bloody cold weather in UK ,the place to go here in Malaysia is Cameron Highlands....you wont be disappointed bcoz you can enjoy your british tea and scoin there ....and strawberry too....but i dont think fish and chips are availabe ..
😂😂😂😂, I’m 100% going. I need those fish and chips
6:56 u shouldnt walk over the drain at the first place...theres a dedicated walkway
Hello, 😂 very true
That guy said he's American Indian, LOL. I think he meant Indian American. American Indians are the Native Americans.
He said rice noodles
On, thanks. I’m getting better with each day! 😂
I think you just fly to Penang and KL.
Hello, I will fly next time. I enjoyed the public transport tho. It’s all part of the experience, thanks for the comment
Did you just take the Thai's train to the Rantau Panjang (Kelantan) side of Malaysia, then travel from there to Penang???
If so I think you took the wrong train line. There's another train line branch off from Hatyai in Thailand and heading to the Padang Besar side of Malaysia. From Padang Besar, it's much closer to Penang and there's dedicated train service from Padang Besar directly to Penang. By taking this route, there's no need of taking the taxi, this route much faster, and most importantly, much CHEAPER.
