Is a car required to live in Boquete.?
Is not a good idea to make it too popular, keep the s😂cret!,,
Lol, the secret's been out. Anyone who has ever been to Peru is spreading the word! Simply a beautiful country to visit and live in:)
This is such a great video full of really good information, and I appreciate it!!!
Great video, the retirement minimum requirement visa is a recurring monthly income of $600.00, and they are at 113 on the Global Peace Index out of 163. Very safe is 1 to 53 and safe is 54 to 117. To live comfortably you might want to spend $1,200.00. The proximity to the U.S. is a definite plus...
Thanks for this info. The GPI ranks the US at 132. Scary.
I’m actually surprised what he pays for rent and what he gets! I pay less in thailand for my BEACH FRONT condo w outdoor kitchen and huge balcony !! Thailand avg for high end luxury is about 200-500mo Basic condos go for $172 a month All bills and WiFi and hotspot w Netflix is under $50 a month beer under a dollar pools beach mountains Wh*skey Women and W££d are all legal! 😮 lol cheers guys! I use to think South America was cheaper till I found Asia! My friend just messaged me yesterday about a apartment for under $100 a month lol
In thailand You can find 2-3 acres for $20 usd month for life long lease or 30yr to build and use as yours. $115 a year per acre to lease empty land
What part of Thailand are you seeing these apartment prices in? Thanks for sharing!
Keith, how does the situation involving the crazy US sanctions on Nicaragua affect the expats and retirement life?
FYI, I believe all ATM withdrawals in Mexico charge a 1% currency conversion fee. Getting money from the USA to Mexico, or any other country, always involves a financial institution making a little profit off of it.
To go there to visit the motels are like $150 per day. Not cheap
Or you could stay at a hostel for $10 a night. Cheap.
The best route would be to book an airbnb. You can find rates ranging from 30 on up.
Great info on a more remote area of Bolivia! The jeep really is cute and I love the color!
Was just in Florianopolis and he should of mentioned how insanely cheap Ubers are. Been to Brazil enough to know u don’t want to drive here. Let the locals do it. A 25 minute Uber which is like half the island costs $6 …. Also though slightly sad it is not a big tipping country so only 10% is auto added at restaurants and bars. So it never adds up
For those doing visa runs in Nicaragua, the first stamp is for 90 days but it is possible to get *two* one month extensions. After that, one needs to do the visa run outside of the Central America community (Costa Rica and Mexico are the two closest countries for visa runs).
Great info! Thank you buddy!
Hi there I was just watching this video and I heard the lady was talking renting houses and apartments . I I have an apartment and a big house for rent in a good neighborhood in San Salvador at very affordable price just in case someone Might be interested

I am from Lima and I have traveled almost all around the world in many US states, Europe, Asia, Middle East, and I can say without any bragging it is very convenient to live in Lima; because cost of living is cheap compared to other cities in Latin America, also Lima has a very nice landscapes in the coast, the hills give it a unique view, also the groceries and vegetables are fresh and you can cook fresh food for much cheaper prices than any other places. Also we are very friendly with foreigners (except to venezuelans and few colombians because they increased the crime rates), restaurants are most of them great, and you can find food for different prices and options according to your taste. Welcome to Peru and enjoy your stay.
Thank you for sharing! Peru is a very beautiful country!
🎉🎉🎉

...... this mr is in one of the fictional worlds of Haruki Murakami.....😂😂😂😂😂 Peru is a dangerous place to live with..... abduction, extortion, Sicarios, etc....etc....etc.... ☹️
Romanian here ( I should also add I lived in the US for 4 years so I understand a bit of the American system) , love your show, just thought I would add a few things (by the way the gentleman speaking is very well informed so he is right on just about everything);: 1. If you come to Romania for the first time and have no experience of life in Eastern Europe it's easier if you stay in Bucharest for a while at the beginning (12-18 months). It's a major city (metropolitan Area 3M) that has everything a BIG city in the US has in very close proximity (i.e. you catch a 10-15 min bus to do some paperwork / get something you really need). You can interact with the state authorities really easily if you need something, your situation is not clear, etc. The reason this is important is that Romanian bureaucracy is a nightmare! And bureaucracy is likely to be more severe in your early stay than later on once you have a residence permit etc. 2. Over time, as you become more proficient in life in Romania, which is a very safe country, if you are a pensioner, you probably want to move to other major cities that have lower costs than Bucharest but still offer a very safe, and comfortable life. This means you should avoid buying property until you have reached this point where you know what's going on and where you want to be. Lastly, it's worth saying Romania is a VERY pro-American country despite anything you may have heard in the news, so US citizens will not necessarily get special treatment but the authorities will pay extra care to make sure you are ok.
Thank you for sharing this information!!
We have a house for sale in CHICLAYO, PERU (north of Peru with beaches and really sunny weather all year round). The house is 4 flors well built house. 15 min. by car to the shore beach.

City CHICLAYO (north of Peru) is much better than Lima. Real spring weather 365 days. Great beaches. True SURFERS are all from there (not from Lima) and the CEVICHE comes from this place, not from Lima. The beach PIMENTEL is just great.
So the orange-faced mental case hasn't totally poisoned the relationship with that formerly friendly country?
Just wanted to mention this. When you travel, you will never be alone. You can make new friends any where and its up to you. Happy travels 🎉
About the tipping. There is no forced tipping, but! every waiter will be overjoyed if you leave a nice tip. 😉
This woman is the coolest mother ever ❤️
I have friends I Bolivia. The actual political and financial situation seems to be catastrophic at the time!
Most Peruvians once they turn 50 they suffer from gastrointestinal issues. Peruvian food is delicious, but not daily comsumption.
A note to transportation in Lima. there is a Metro but does not get you to Miraflores. There is Uber and many other Peruvian alike services and quite cheap with great service. No need to ride buses. Food is exquisite and there is restaurant for every pocket and taste. There are more thath three districts on Lima to live safely and happily. They are Miraflores, San Isidro , Barranco, San Borja, La Molina, Monterrico, Surco , San Miguel by the ocean !! Night life in Barranco for instance is great for eating, dancing , meeting people and mingling with locals who are extremely friendly !! But it’s not the only place !!!
Thank you for this information!
@ my pleasure . I lived in Peru a few years in my youth working for an American company. Sure Lima has progressed tremendously since I was there , last century (😀i . I went back in 2022 for a friend’s wedding and I was really surprised how much that city has improves and grown. ,! On that occasion I rented through RBnB a lovely apartment in the 16th floor of a building in Miraflores and paid 300 a week for three bedrooms two full baths plus laundry room and high quality furnishing . On a monthly basis and a year contract it would have been US$ 400/ month . I am seriously contemplating a move to Peru next year when I retire.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. 🌸
$300 monthly rent for a 2 bedroom, riding the public bus system and eating at the open markets? This guy is scraping the bottom of the barrel
He’s not scraping the bottom of the barrel-he knows how to truly experience the soul of a country. From immersing himself in the local culture to savoring incredible cuisine at open markets that rivals any fine dining, all without spending $100 for a plate that’s just dressed up to look fancy. That’s living smart, not scraping by.
I continue to hear of cartel violence in South America. Is Panama of concern for this reason?
No, Panama isn’t a concern for cartel violence. Such issues are typically isolated and far from expat areas, much like choosing safe neighborhoods in Chicago or other U.S. cities. Panama remains a safe and popular destination for expats.
Just don't move to the areas around the Colombia or Costa Rica borders to avoid this
Good information 👍 im a Salvadorean thinking about going back for good once I retire in a couple years from now 🙏😎🇸🇻🇨🇦
You won't be alone, many are heading back home to El Salvador!!
@adventurefreaksss hope to see U there 🙏😎🇸🇻🇨🇦
I was in Arequipa for a week and I got sick due to alergias and elevations.
These destinations are not for everyone:)
If Trump takes back the canal it's hard to imagine Americans will be welcome down there.
Yep if he has the evil audacity of trying to destroy us, then yes, no american will be safe in Panama ever again.
