Thanks for doing this review Nate, I really appreciate it! I thought this was a really good survival movie, even if there were some nitpicks for sure, but I found it believable enough to work. I think it was cool that the Bollywood filmmakers took on this genre to make something really unique and Rajkumar Rao really sold the role. These type of one-man show survival movies are a favorite genre of mine and I thought this one fit right in with movies like 127 Hours and Castaway. Do you think the 2023 film Inside with Willem Dafoe got inspiration from this movie? If you think about it the concept is very similar and it hits a lot of the same beats like hallucinating the owner/TV show guy, talking to the pigeon/rat, and more.
It was a really entertaining watch! I appreciate you recommending it! I think it is certainly unique and I loved the lead performance. Survival movies are always interesting. I could totally see this movie influencing Inside. There were certainly a lot of similarities!
Hey Nate, holding off on watching this review-- but I am recommending a classic for your channel, "Memories of Murder" (2003, Korea) -- thanks for all the reviews! Has been a valuable resource as I dive more into the film & critic/analysis world.
