TigButton from TigControl.com
Purchased a new controller for my Tig Welder to allow me to weld out of position for an upcoming project. After some research and speaking with other welders online, this button was highly recommended. Dave at TigControl.com helped me out with all my questions and set me up with a button. In this video, I show installation and some testing of the button. I will follow up with another video after some time with the button.
Enjoy!

Side view of door/fender gap 1967 Mustang
Simplist KISS build video to follow I have seen thus far.
Get it from Aaron - @6061 - He developed the Tig Button pressure sensitive controller years ago. TigControl looks like they reverse engineered it and are undercutting the real developer. AND - Aaron's TH-cam videos are next-level aluminum tig welding.
Cool🎉
Where can I find one of those manuals. I have 3 69’ to do? Love the detail in your videos. Subbed!
It be nice too know what car there for?
Do you have a plan drawing of your frame jig?
Where did purchase your frame rails from? They look like great quality… Dan
Two things come to mind: 1) WELD THROUGH PRIMER (yes, I’m shouting), copper is best, melting/smoking zinc is poisonous. None of that sheet metal appears to have the E-coating that is typically on late model replacement panels. You don’t want to be welding rust into your new car. And: 2)Get your doors now. Ideally original parts. Tack them in place and leave them there until you are ready to hang them on hinges. I’ve seen “rotisserie” rebuilds that were done without doors on. When the car was put back on wheels on the ground the door opening wasn’t close to being the right shape. These cars were pretty flexible when new in 1967 so any temporary bracing your thinking of adding while under construction is best done sooner rather than later. Cool project. Especially with Ford licensed parts and a 1967 VIN. I still like the notchbacks too. Look for an 8.8 rear end from a 90’s Thunderbird Supercoupe. Fully independent, disc brakes, and the substructure will tighten up the whole car.
Too many parts, pedal works without all the extra power supplies and control boxes, all that should be needed is a potentiometer at the same value as pedal and a slide lever or knob.
Then design your own and market it! It does work really well when you can’t use the pedal. I will say that if I have the option between the pedal or the button, I’m using the pedal. Cheers
Every slide or rotary amperage controller that I have tried leave a lot to be desired. Compared to this device, they are bulky and it is difficult hold your torch steady when ramping up or down. This device is better. If it requires a power supply, it's no big deal.
@@johnbell452 All need power, even the 2t/4t button, why a separate power sup when power is available through the plug, that is my concern. They all work with a potentiometer or on/off switch.
Where can I get the dimensions and how to line the frame up?
how did you learn how to build cars this way were you an autobody tech, books, or any other materials.
Nice lookin box. Wow
I’m doing a 67 cougar rear frame rails. You said the ford service manual has the dimensions across the frame rails and diagonal I think you said. Are there some dimensions to locate the rails from the front of the car? Or from the front frame rails or something like that. I suppose I should get a service manual for the cougar, where did you get the manual, is there somewhere online to get them?
Hey, new subscriber and I LOVE your videos. I am getting ready to tackle a 65 mustang and you have given me some good ideas. Your dimension documentation sources would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
Great video! And attention to detail!
I am planning on going through this right now. with 50K views you are on to something. Those of us taking the next step need the guidance. How is it going? are you still working on this project? I realize I am late to the party.... RP
Thanks for the video. Did you make one on how to build the jig?
Is there an update on this?
Still have the car do you have ig or facebook
so is this less expensive than dynocorn body? looking good
😍😍😍👏👏👏
Where did you get the diagram at? Just bought a 66 coupe, needs alot of work..
This is not worth that long
Fantastic attention to detail. Question - Does the metal come rust protected from the factory? Put a different way, do you rust protect the inner structure before final assembly?
Thanks for sharing I was interested in getting one someday glad to know it’s not as straight forward as I’d think it would be. Just curious can they preweld for you?
This video is etremely helpful as I am going to be changing out my transition pan too. I'll be making my own c-clamp tool as well. Awesome idea.
You would think that foe $3500, they would brace it fir the fork lift with 2 2x4s!?
Did you make your own frame jig or did you buy it?
Where did you get the Ford Service Manual from?
Do you have the part # of the HVAC fan? I cant to find the same one you have
Why the hell did you take the frame rail out, it was in good condition!?!?!?!?
Good to see I'm not the only over thinker out there. I'm going through the same process with my 69 right now, and so many people seem to be okay with "close enough" but not me. I built the jig, I got a laser level, I got a decimal tape measure, I've taken thousands of measurements, and am still having trouble getting started on it. Mine was in a bad accident before it came to me, so I have a lot less accurate measurements I can use too. But it will get done!
Did you give up?
Other then it needing a couple of patches, why replace the hole part. Looks like it's mostly just some light rust, not rot. But maybe living in Michigan, has messed with my judgment, when it comes to a vehicles condition. Lol
Keep in mind these part are made overseas. I determined that the parts are stamped using a different metal thickness. Meaning radius and contour will differ a bit. I bet your doors and rear window won't fit at all.
Did you confirm you're CAD drawing measurements with you're coupe and you're buddy's mustang? Great vids thanks
I replaced my 1969 Rustang rear frame patch links left and right from CXJ Pony Parts which are well thought out parts but prior to welding I put a 5/8 x 4 long bolt and nut to lock it in place permanently.
finished the project?
Are we going to see more videos about this new car?
Where did you buy the shell? Were you happy with the quality?
Do you think someone without any experience in cars and mechanics can do something like this?
Any recommendations for tools? Welding, torch and other tools to cut, grind etc...
Mig welder, angle grinder with cut off disk and flap wheel to smooth welds, spot weld cutter (can use a drill bit as well as long as you don’t need the metal behind the panel). As you go along you’ll find what works best for you. Plasma cutter is nice and you can sell when you’re done with it
Where did you get the assembly manual?
You can still buy them. I think they are still printed. Google search the weld and sealant manual for a mustang and year. www.mustangsetc.com/67-weld-and-sealant-assembly-manual/
How did you deal with all the smoke and smell from welding and torching in a closed garage?! Sorry i know it was 5 years ago but i just subscribed and started watching your videos, thanks
Hey! I would open the door when not filming. Ventilation is important as we all know. Having the door open works well!
can you take a messurement for me from the mustang? I'm putting new framerails (full assembly with aprons from dynacorn in) My cars was hit so i coildnt take messurements from it can you messure from the front lip (highest spot)of the rocker panel(that has a bent to the outside) to the most forward lip of the framerail ( where the radiator support lips attache) thanks for the vids
Hey! I no longer have the car and can’t measure this for you. But, you should be able to get the answer on vintage mustang forums real quick!
That's some crazy thick steel plate!
Would you recommend going with the metal switch option since you tried the slimmer option? Great video thank you for making it.
Easily the best classic Mustang frame restoration videos. I needed these measurements and here they are.
how long did it take to put this all together by yourself?
I'm curious myself. My brother keeps talking about these Dynacorn bodies. He thinks it's cheaper than buying an already made Mustang, but I'm not too sure on that front.
These videos are amazing, thanks a lot
