I Watched HBO's Chimp Crazy (and now I can't sleep)
#hbomax #documentary #commentary
This video is a bit different from my others but I made this channel to make unscripted commentary/reviews on tv/movies/books/video games/more.
Animal rights is also something I'm passionate about and want to share awareness for the exotic pet trade
I would recommend following @mayahiga @AlveusSanctuary for animal rights activism information and teachings

    The swiftologist is an ass and a sexist i used to watch his videos for taylor content but i hated his takes so i couldn't continue (the sexism is towards his queen mind you so he's not even rooting for anyone and is just very negative) I've seen taylor do a few features with female singers haim is one kellie pickler is anither and i don't see her buying a taylor feature lol i don't think anyone could afford that she and taylor are friends so it's not surprising that taylor would feature on a song especially if she was writing it while they were on tour together

    Exotic animals are not pets. Period. How much thought does it require? None. It is difficult and very expensive to care for wild animals. It requires specialized personnel and extensive facilities, and with all that, it is still detrimental to the animals. We abuse domesticated animals. We abuse wild animals. We abuse each other. Why is this a question at all? The exotic pet trade should be illegal in all forms in all countries. Refuges, sanctuaries, conservation reserves, etc. These places are needed only because of human interference with wild animals, and I have no criticism of them at all.

    • @gigicostlow4414
      @gigicostlow4414 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not all exotic animals are wild animals. When I first got my llamas in the '90's, they were federally (USDA) listed as exotic animals even though they had been domesticated for over 5,000 years. Because of that, most states also considered them exotic animals. A lot of us llama and alpaca owners worked to get that changed and they are now listed as domestic livestock, both federally and in every state. There are no wild llamas and alpacas. A few other domestic animals that are or were considered exotic animals in the USA are Bactrian and Dromedary camels, domestic water buffalo, domestic yaks, and domestic reindeer. Sanctuaries are a good thing. Just wish they were only used for orphaned or injured native animals that can be rehabbed back into the wild or injured ones that can't be released back into the wild and not for the poor animals that are there because of someone's stupidity. I agree that wild animals shouldn't be kept as pets but I also believe there are a few exceptions.

    She slept with Travis too. Not saying it was anything s**ual just she was trying to fill a void and she definitely needed counseling long ago.all these "owners" are delusional. Meaning they think they think they are rare and special special regarding their abilities to raise a chimp and bond and they would never seen as a wild strong primate. I have seen many Russian utube channels with exotic big cats. Must be legal there

  • @FreeTheMonkeys

    The saddest part is that many people who think chimpanzees should never be pets, have no issues with smaller monkeys becoming pets. They see all these American youtubers exploiting their pet monkeys for profit and think they are 'loved' and are so 'cute' and 'adorable.' They refuse to acknowledge the damage done to these monkeys the moment they are taken from their mothers to become pets for selfish owners.

    I knew she wasn't well liked by music nerds and wasn't really interested either way, but then I read your video title and was intrigued so I went to listen to her 2020 EP and first two albums. Good Riddance kinda sucked :l very boring and one dimensional. I don't think the writing was terrible, just predictable and not that unique. And the music writing wasn't much better, sounding bland and one note (her first EP was surprisingly more interesting). The Secret of Us, though, was pretty decent and had good moments. It was more dynamic musically with pretty catchy chorus' here and there with a step up in the writing. Still, the themes were similar and not all that interesting even if relatable. I don't think this album is as good as those publications say it is, but it certainly isn't close to being bad like the fantano kind believe it to be. And now after watching your video, yeah, She definitely doesn't deserve the hate and I like how well you spoke of her, her concert, and her fans :1

    22:51 okayyyyyy I’m gonna stop you right there about rabbits “not liking to cuddle” or “not showing affection”. I’ve rescued rabbits for over ten years, they are ABSOLUTELY capable of showing love and affection towards their human friends. My girlie I have now, TurboLover (she’s the fourth rabbit I took in) , i rescued her from an animal research lab where she was obviously not treated like a companion as they were doing these cruel experiments and tests on her and if I didn’t get wind of it she would have been executed. I knew I had to adopt her and show her that a great life is possible. It was difficult at first due to her former life but with lots of patience and cuddle time she is now the sweetest most gentle little bean on earth. I carry her around like a baby and we go on walks, i hold her and we take turns giving kisses and play all day long! She’s my best friend and my everything and I cannot imagine life without the love of a spoiled bun. The narrative that rabbits just HATE being pets and aren’t good companions is super hurtful as they wanna love and hang out with their human as much as the best doggo out there. I hate that they’re only seen as skiddish and panicking little jerks. People would rather justify the worlds shittiest cat than try and see rabbits as our friends. I hate that this negative reputation surrounds pet rabbits when more often than not people don’t even see them as pets but more as accessories. yeah force isolation on this animal in a cage all day and Be shocked when they don’t wanna hang out with you.

    • @gigicostlow4414
      @gigicostlow4414 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it depends on the individual rabbit's personality and sometimes the breed. I had a lot of rabbits of different breeds. All of them liked being petted and being around me and even playing with me but some didn't care for being carried and cuddled. My Angoras, Mini Lops, and Dwarfs liked being carried and being in my lap and cuddled. My Siamese Satins, New Zealand Red, and Flemish Giant (weighed 21 pounds) didn't like being carried around and cuddled though they did enjoy hanging out with me and being petted while on the floor or on the ground if in their outside enclosure. Rabbits make great pets for the right person. Like with any pet, they're not for everyone.

    When I saw *Tonka* in that cage it reminded me of an old 1959 Twilight Zone show. These astronauts land on Mars (one died) and the people on Mars found the survivor. They were similar to us and could read minds. They built a room for the astronaut just like one on Earth. But there was a constant noise outside and the astronaut found a sliding door. When he opened it, on the other side were the aliens pointing and laughing with a sign that read "EARTH CREATURE IN HIS NATIVE HABITAT" (that's what we do)

    The Travis issue was totally Sandras fault. Her husband told her before he died to bring Travis to a sanctuary which obviously she didn't. She did all those things you said, bathed with him, dressed him in her husbands clothes. Travis drank wine and even ate lobster and she also gave him Xanax . She lied about that too in an interview. She went out with Sharla to gamble a few days before the attack and I guess, left Travis alone. He got jealous and this was Sandras fault. Sandra didn't think at all about chimp behavior she went out with Sharla left Travis came back and Travis wanted to go for a car ride as he grabbed the keys and when Sharla showed up he found her as a threat even if she worked with him before. Travis lost a group member, Sandras husband and Sandra takes off with Sharla leaves Travis . I mean this whole thing could have been avoided if Sandra listened to her husband in the first place. Glad she wasn't able to get that other chimp

      @cherylmillard2067 They are great, powerful dogs. I imagine living with a grown male chimp would be like living with a 7'0" schizophrenic bodybuilder who occasionally goes off his meds during meth benders

    • @hikkchik
      @hikkchik หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sharonrigs7999 The thing about "pet" monkeys and apes that hardly ever gets mentioned is that they still have an instinct to be dominant. In the wild, a lower ranked primate has to give up its food to a higher ranked one. When captive ones get hand fed by their owners, it tells them that their owner is lower ranked because they're giving up their food to the animal. So if the owner upsets them, or prevents them from doing something they want, they're going to put them in their place just like a monkey in the wild would do to a lower ranking one.

  • @hikkchik
    @hikkchik หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just keeping them as pets is abuse even if you do everything in your power to give them a good life. Humans CAN'T meet their needs. These pet monkey channels on TH-cam drive me insane. The ones overseas abuse them intentionally for the monkey hate community, and the ones in America abuse them unintentionally (I assume unintentionally) by making them wear clothes and diapers, not giving them enough room to roam, etc. And of course it all starts with the breeder who breeds the mothers repeatedly and tears the baby out of her arms every time she gives birth, causing both of them to grieve deeply. So the babies start out their lives in trauma. Clothes on a monkey or chimp is a big red flag showing the owner either doesn't know or doesn't care about the damage clothes can cause these animals.

    • @FreeTheMonkeys
      @FreeTheMonkeys หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can't like your comment enough, you are so right. NO pet monkey is ever living its best life outside of the wild with their own kind. It's sad to see so many people in America think pet monkeys are 'cute' and 'loved' by their owners. When in fact any pet monkey is damaged the moment they are taken from their mothers to become pets for selfish people to exploit for views and money.
