I've heard Buffalo and Kevyn Adams are considering Cozens' trade value to be equivalent to a 31-goal, 68 point top 2 center. Detroit should expect to give up Marco Kasper, Joe Veleno, and Axel Sandin-Pelikka.
Is Boston still third in the division or a wild card? Either way if Detroit keeps it up and the Sens get guys back (aka Ullmark), I could see both our teams make the playoffs this year.
No Tyler? Addition by subtraction.
Don’t want Cozens…. at all.
You have to give to get. Compher and a 2nd ? Lol
Good podcast fellas 👍
Stay away from Cozens imo. We can get that production eventually from Danielson or Kasper for a fraction of the cost, and full team control for many years to come.
Buffalo isn't retaining on this. That's a good one. Joe Veleno, Compher for Cozens that's funny
yeah, it's a pretty dead trade prop any way you look at it. Buffalo over-estimated Cozens' worth, and Detroit is certainly not selling the farm for him.
Yeah, Mo just go out there and wreck shit! 😂
Rantanen, 7x13 this summer is my dream
Kasper is likely getting traded to Buffalo in deal for Cozens or Byram
That's a good thing
It would have to include someone like Chiarot or Copp to make the money work.
@@GrindLinePod agreed.
Great episode guys. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
HOLDING THE BLUE LINE. A defenseman maintaining ozone possession has been the biggest change to the system, and it brings joy
Tonights game could say a lot about both our teams.
Great job as always, you guys should have a lot more views and likes
Thanks, tell your friends!
Here’s my issue with a Dylan Cozens trade. The wings pro scouting is terrible so if the wings want him he’s probably going to be terrible.
@derekhand7904 i think it's the difference between a young kid and a vet though. 30 other teams would take Cozens right now.
PELL-eh-kuh ffs
Not according to the Swedes we talk to
FemBots
BALD
I spent the entire last 2 minutes waiting to see if you guys would see the Johnny Burgers breakway repeat.
The perfect way to end an episode 😂😂
@@GrindLinePodIt was also the perfect way to end a game 😂
USA ARROGANCE, PERSONIFIED.
I was waiting for the Berggren end of game goal reaction, LGRW!!
I will the loss of Walman and air ghost. You missing a couple guys that can get the puck to the forwards. After seeing how they played against Washington I can actually see what Stevie’s vision for this seasons team is. I just wish this move was made a month because now they have to play at a 113 point pace just to get to 92 points this year,
I like McLellan, has a good track record, he was great in San Jose. I think it's a great pick
The Grindr pod.
100% the roster is way better than the results on the ice, the people who say it was all Yzerman's fault and changing the coach won't matter are foolish.
Good to have Ryan back, Tyler made the most consecutive appearances I have seen since listening to this podcast. So happy Lalonde is gone, after the collapse and excuses last year after the deadline I was pretty certain he wasn't the guy. I have been watching almost every Wings game since 2007 and that was the saddest stretch of Wings hockey I have ever seen by far. Even in the Blashill days when the team sucked I enjoyed watching more. Lalonde's boring ass, dump and change hockey was pathetic. Never seen the players more disinterested and unenthusiastic. Most boring hockey I have ever watched at any level, I would rather watch a random minor hockey house league game. I am excited to watch the games again for the first time in like 2 months. Even though they got smoked by the Leafs the team looked way faster and like they gave a shit. It will take some time for McLellan to implement his system but I am very happy with the choice of him as head coach. LGRW
Well said fellas great perspectives!
Aside from Seider, this group of defensemen is horrendous. Firstly, the defense has to get better.
5.5 seasons in and Yzerman has five draft picks on the team with four of them playing regular impactful minutes with any where from one to three more players moving up to detroit next year. Pretty good
I'm kind of wondering if there were player/coach issues going on. You mentioned Veleno and Ras and their declined roles.. was there a rift there that started between certain players and Lalonde? That could have caused a toxic locker room
It’s only 5-0 after two periods.
Coach doesn't fix it after 1 morning skate 😂
The team is so shocked they forgot who Mitch Marner is and that maybe they should cover him. The defensive zone coverage is awful. Todd is learning the hard way that Tarasenko is a liability and has no business in the top 6.
I hated that signing when it happened, hate it even more now. Tarasenko should be in the press box.
Totally agree you can never hear the questions!!
Turn on closed captions. It picked up the questions being asked off mic. But even Stevie's mic was awful.
How true
I liked what I heard from Todd, was the opposite of Lalonde. Todd also has a lot more experience, which we haven’t had in a long time.
No more ex-goalies behind the bench. We're lousy at the X's and O's.
Great video. Go Red Wings
Fun fact: Wings have 2 more wins in the last week than Sabres in the last month. I would LOVE to see you guys talk about that shitshow on an episode
Tyler is a LOOSER, welcome back Ryan!!!!!!
Yzerman played at 18. Too much time put into development. Cossa should be up here
It not the same league. It is far faster and more skilled and we know more about player development. Goalies take the longest because the transition is the most difficult from level to level.
Will Yzerman make a play for a 2nd line def or hoping this team tanks for another top 10 pick?
I think it really depends on where we are by the end of January.
Really drops off after #5. If we pick lower than 5 I'd be open to trading it
Your goaltender has to be your best player on the PK. And that's not the case.
@kenyoung3265 you still have to give your goalie the best you have on the PK and they are terrible at it. A lot of the PP goals the goalie has no shot.
We have no "The Shift" Zetterberg type efforts out there.. not even close.
People seemed to have much higher expectations for The Yzerplan than they should have. The Yzerplan is still very much on track, but dude had to build from the ground up. The entire house was blown away by a storm and he had to build everything. Yzerman is building a new dynasty, he's not building ja flash-in-the-pan playoffs for a couple years kind of team. Folks need to chill out on Yzerman and understand what's actually going on here.
Scream this from the rooftops. Is this season disappointing so far? Yes. Are the mid FA signings worse? Yes. But they are not part of the future.
@GrindLinePod i think every Mid-season point, all these fair-weather Wings fans need to re-watch his press conference April 19th, 2019.. he clearly states the "plan" he doesn't talk super long but he explains what he's gotta do and expresses to please give him patience as these types of teardowns, to rebuilding the right way takes a long time. Contracts were jamming us up and Ken Holland was given specific instructions to maintain playoffs while Mr I was alive.. a lot has happened the past 10 years specifically to this Detroit Red Wings organization with The Illitch family as owners. Mike dying had a lot to do with the prolongation of pain as why we didn't do this sooner. He wanted playoff streak to continue. He passed in 2017.. we didn't start rebuilding until after that, really.
They could have always traded Ghost if they signed him to a 3 year. Yzerman has done far more questionable deals.
Tyler's only happy that Ryan's back because now he can vanish for 4 podcasts in a row
@@TheMexinadian bet
Man....raymonds been on fire since chairot and him got into it in practice last season. One thing big ole ben did right!!
The NHL management won't stop until the league is as fun as mayonnaise
Greg, can you put some pep in that voice you got? Really rough listen
I'm getting over an illness and I'm tired from sick kids waking up in the middle of the night. Sorry.
Tyler, would you hate to see the wings back in the West? I personally would love to see the wings back in the Central.
The boys better not leave Cossa out to dry whenever he starts. Our core players have looked great, Raymond is a point per game right now. Im a Panthers fan as well, and they play even better as the game goes on. I’m starting to think this Wings team has conditioning issues since they always falter in the 2nd and 3rd period. Or, Fester is coaching them poorly when they have the lead. Go Wings.
