Hellebores and Holly - lovely.
Where in the PNW are you? I'm up by Mt. Hood.
You are so lucky to receive seeds. I am in Canada and am in a bit of a panic about not getting seeds because of the postal strike. The courier services are backed up and cannot give delivery dates.
Oh no! I hope that gets sorted soon!
I am trying campanula.
Fun! I love them
This is my first year flowering. I am doing ok, but i have alot to learn. I have lived on this farm all my life and only grew vegetables, now i have a passion to start flowers. O am excited and scared. Lol
If you have a passion for it, it’s worth some anxiety to see your dreams through
Hello there. Do u have a video on starting Asters? Would love to know how.
I will in the next couple of months. I try to do videos as I start seeds in season
Thanks for keeping the excitement up for next year
I can’t wait!
Wow! Your channel have all the answers to my questions. And your such a talented woman, thank you for sharing.😊
I’m so glad they’re helpful!
I appreciated hearing your insights! I’m in 8b but way further south 🙂. I’m getting ready to start my Lisianthus (second year growing them). I planted several varieties of Poppies and some Asters a few weeks ago along with some Ranunculus and De Caen Anemones. At this point, some are up but it’s a little challenging to distinguish the seedlings from the winter weeds 🙃 so we’ll see!
The TH-cam channel Regenerative Gardening with Blossom and Branch has videos about starting Lisianthus from seed that I found very helpful.
It sounds like you’re off to a great start!
I tried Elegant Salmon Clarkia last year and loved it - it’s in the color pallet of many of your choices. This year I’m also trying a very different variety called Grace Shell Pink Clarkia.
I’ve never grown them. I’ll have to check them out
I’m already dreaming about next season’s seeds. Thanks for sharing.
Do black eyed susans bloom the same year? or year2??
Same year
This was fun. Curious: how old are your snaps? What conditions would you want to plant them out? I have healthy 2 week old seedlings and thinking about the garage for them with lights. 45 days, 35-40 at night
I wait until I have a couple sets of leaves
Thanks for the greenhouse tour - very inspiring! And beautiful wreath 🎄
You are very kind!
Love your seed haul video. I will be ordering my seeds soon. I also had issues with procut white lite. Loved the white knight. I also had issues with the procut plum, love the color, but the neck was not strong. I ended up not putting them in my bouquets. Any suggestions on how to have a stronger neck?
It is so frustrating when that happens! I don’t know that you can change it other than harvesting at the right time and hydrating them properly. Sometimes it’s just the variety
Here in 9b PNW too. Got most of my cool flowers planted early fall, still couldn't get them all in so still seeding the rest this week. I will be starting sunflowers middle January to flower April with the short days, I will try to transplant earlier January to see how it goes. I love to see what others are growing 💗
❤❤❤❤
I greatly appreciate all that you share, thank you! I have a specific color bouquet in mind that I’d like to create, how does one time it properly to ensure flowers bloom at the same time? I prefer a softer palette and just wonder if it’s more of a headache to time it just right? I’ve always been a Gardner, but this coming season will be my first year with a cut flower farm.
I have built a calendar over the years that tracks when I have certain flowers available. Not everything will bloom all at once because they need different conditions so it’s hard to say. Generally though, you can base it on how long the seed needs from planting to bloom and count backwards for when to start everything. You’re seed packets could show you
@ will give it a try, thank you!
I leave my bulbs in damp sand on a tray & they usually sprout roots. Trick is to always slice away the basal plate to reveal the root nodes before soaking them, after the dormant period.
That’s a great tip!
The equator 😂 I love your videos and your down to earth style. I feel like I just want have coffee and craft with you 😊
That would be a great day
Where did you get those copper colored plant supports
Amazon
I love your greenhouse space. Am very envious. Love from Ireland as always ❤
Thanks so much! 😊
💚
I love to put 2 inches of sea glass in a quart jar and then add water just to the top of the sea glass and place a paper white bulb on top to give as a Christmas gift. I also place them in a cool dark place for 2 weeks to let them start rooting before I bring them out to start growing. This is supposed to help keep the green stems a little stockier and less prone to flopping. Keep an eye on the water level and add if needed to just level with the sea glass. You can also use glass cabochons or pretty pebbles. Thank you for sharing how you grow yours. 😊
That sounds lovely
I love those! I started some last week, I also grow them for sale. Greetings from Denmark! 🤗🌻🎄
They’re the best!
Thanks for the video, learned a lot about my amaryllis, i live in north west england, i put my amaryllis in dormancy, nxt time i will soak roots before potting, 👍
It was crazy
Ginger, thank you for a really informative video. Going into our fifth year, we still struggle with finding an efficient storage method for our tubers. Here in Colorado, our climate is super dry so this year, we're going to try keeping buckets of water in our cooler. Your greenhouse is beautiful! Do you do Dahlia cuttings? If so, I would love to see a video. Happy growing!
Adding the humidity might help. Crossing my fingers for you. I haven’t decided if I’m taking cuttings or not yet.
Love it ! Happy Holidays !
Same to you!
Precious. Loved seeing Grandma's garden tools on your tree.
Me too
Pretty!!
💚
Hi Erin. Do you put the lids on your plastic tubs? I’ve scored my tubers in cardboard boxes to prevent moisture but it is bulky and takes a lot of room. I like your method but am wondering about too much moisture when you seal the tubers in plastic… have you had issues with a lot of rot? How successful are you? Thanks. Love your videos ❤
I do out the lids on. Moisture can be an issue but, that’s why I do my best to make sure they’re dry when I pack them and check on them all winter
What are you using for audio?
Just the camera in this video.
@gingersflorals do you happen to know the brand?
What a neat idea. Those came out beautifully.
Thank you so much
Love it🤩
Thank you
Gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
I divided mine earlier this month and ended up in the Er with a laceration. Best of luck to you with dividing them.
Sorry to hear that.
Beautiful !
Thank you!
I have some lambs ears in my yard, think I’ll have some fun with it. Thanks for the step by step!
Yay! They’re so fun!
I always pick up tips and tricks from your videos! Thank you for sharing your knowledge :) Can I ask? Do you leave your landscape fabric down for the winter or roll it up?
No, it’ll come up
This was my second year using a heat mat under my pots and it has worked well. A week went by and I can see the leaf peaking up.
Awesome!
When did you start your ranunculus? Do you succession plant?
September. And I do succession plant. I spoke to that on a ranunculus video back in September.
I just soaked three new bulbs for about 24ish hours and I swear the bulbs look more green. It's been less than a week since I soaked and potted them, but I swear it woke my bulbs up.
I’m sure it did!
Do you find a heat mat and gro lights speeds them up? Love your videos!
Heat will. They don’t really need light until they sprout
@ some are starting to sprout but not all of them. I just have them all sitting together. I don’t think the light will hurt the others. I wish I had known about your tip to soak them. I’m half tempted to take them out of the pots and soak some of them right now. I soaked, but only for about an hour.
I just potted some of my amaryllis up today and did the pre soak method that I had seen on Danielle from Northlawn did last year I believe. Can’t wait to see the difference between pre soaking or not! Like you, I love amaryllis and this time of year when things slow down a bit and I can finally catch my breath before the next season starts!
@@mienkedezoete2146 it made such a difference for me!
💗
I started them back in September. I will succession plant them. Early march I’ll start the rest of them
Thank you for all the tips and tricks. Great video.
@@patsyden6276 thank you
Lovely tour! I’d love a tour of your greenhouse too! We are in the process of building ours and I’d love some inspiration 🥰🙂
I’ll be sure to show in there for the December farm tour!
Great video. Garden still has a lot of good looking plants.
Thank you so much
I appreciate the tour. I can see the gradual changes over the months. Any videos are fine! Idk how anyone finds time when you are so busy and holidays around the corner 🦃🎄
Thank you so much
